The services were provided on behalf of Suomen Hyötytuuli Oy - a wind power production company owned by major Finnish city energy companies. Tahkoluoto Offshore Windfarm is the first of its kind as the 10 x SWT-4.0-130 Siemens turbines being installed are designed to withstand the rough, cold and icy winters in Finland. During a three-month period, Blue Water Shipping took care of the onshore logistics on the wind turbine preassembly site of the Tahkoluoto Offshore Wind Farm project, utilizing their own special equipment and local service providers. Suomen Hyötytuuli Oy was satisfied with the professionalism, quality and safety demonstrated by the team. “The Blue Water Shipping team did a fantastic job with Tahkoluoto Offshore. They were willing to serve efficiently day and night, and showed a positive attitude”, says Xavier De Meulder, Marine Operations Manager at Suomen Hyötytuuli Oy.
Another milestone This is another milestone project within our mobile terminal solutions where we provide equipment and skilled personnel in local ports worldwide – with support from our knowledge-based competence centres around the world – to ensure the proper experience, best service and
solutions to offshore clients – in close cooperation with local partners.
Experts on site On site in Finland Blue Water’s responsibili ty included transfer of the components to storage, upending, transfer to loadout position for the jack-up installation vessel “Vole Au Vent”. This was performed by our Terminal Operators and coordinated by our On-site Project Manager. As part of delivering the complete set-up, Blue Water’s Naval Engineers and HSSEQ Specialists were also involved in the project providing calculations and ensuring safety on site. The project was completed two weeks ahead of the initial schedule. “We are very pleased and proud to have been part of this successful project. The close cooperation between Suomen Hyötytuuli Oy and the different contractors was perfect and everybody worked towards the common goal of completing the project according to schedule and always with safety as first priority,” says Rasmus Svane Nielsen, Blue Water’s Project Manager on site. The Tahkoluoto Offshore Windfarm is expected to be operational later this year.

Rasmus Øllgaard from Blue Water Miami and Hans Braas from Blue Water Copenhagen participated in CLIA’s (Cruise Lines International Association) “Summit at Sea” together with 170 other attendees from the cruise industry, including numerous cruise lines. The summit opened in Hamburg with workshops and social events. The next couple of days were spent on board the impressive cruise ship “Queen Elizabeth”, from Cunard Line, and included lots of workshops and networking. After two days, the event and the cruise ended in Southampton in England. “We had several meetings, with both cruise lines and other people from the cruise industry, which can open up opportunities. The programme also included relevant debates about the future of this industry and the challenges we will be facing”, says Hans Braas.
Biggest cruise ship ever in Copenhagen On 16.5, “Norwegian Getaway” of Norwegian Cruise Lines called at Copenhagen for the first time. With a capacity of 5,000 passengers, ”Norwegian Getaway” is the biggest cruise ship ever to have made turnaround in Copenhagen. However, the vessel was not fully booked on arrival as she was “only” carrying a good 3,800 passengers and slightly more than 1,600 crew members. On
several departures in July, the number of passengers reached 4,800. In honour of the special occasion, Blue Water had arranged a reception on board for 40 guests representing the city, port, the US Embassy, clients and partners. “Norwegian Getaway” will do 18 crui ses in the Baltic Sea this year with Copenhagen as point of departure and with Blue Water as agent.

PORT SERVICES & AGENCY
GE project to China GE Renewable Energy was selected by Chinese Fuqing Haixia Electricity Generation Company to deliver three Haliade TM 150-6MW offshore wind turbines to the Fujian Xinghua Gulf demo project. The contract includes technical support and a two-year operation and maintenance service. GE Renewable Energy is one of the se veral wind turbine suppliers participating
in the 73 MW windfarm project, capable to provide enough power to satisfy the needs of more than 20,000 households in the region. The three nacelles and generators were manufactured at GE’s Offshore Wind facility in Saint-Nazaire, France, whereas towers and blades were manufactured locally in China (Chengxi) and Denmark respectively.
Installation is expected to take place during the last quarter of 2017. Blue Water’s involvement in the project included trucking of the nine blades from factory to port in Esbjerg, Denmark as well as the port agency and stevedoring operation in connection with the loading of the blades for sea transport to China by MV “Trina” from SAL.
Port agents for MV ”James Cook” MV “James Cook”, which is owned by Jan De Nul Group, called at Frederikshavn in the northern part of Denmark in June to undergo some minor repair work. The vessel arrived from the roads of Skagen and Blue Water acted as agents while the vessel was at Skagen roads as well as during her stay in Frederikshavn. “MV ”James Cook” is the biggest vessel so far for which we have acted as agents in Frederikshavn. Jan De Nul Group is a leading expert in dredging and marine construction activities as well as in specialised services for the offshore industry of oil, gas and renewable energy. The group is the owner of the world’s most modern and most diverse dredging fleet. 7
WIND LOGISTICS
Expertise benefits Japanese wind farm
With decades of experience within sea freight, stowage arrangements, port operations and through a unique tracking system, Blue Water has become a preferred partner for wind projects in Asia
For the first time, Blue Water has supplied a wide range of transport and logistics services to a wind farm in Japan - the Higashi Yurihara Wind Farm located on the northern part of the Japanese main island of Honshu. The project included a total of 13 Siemens wind turbines for the 41.6 MW wind farm and the commercial operation of the wind farm is scheduled for the spring of 2018. “A main challenge was the shipping of the components from Esbjerg, Denmark.
The blades required special handling and loading. The project also included a shipment of components from Taicang, China to Akita, Japan”, says Bjarke Riber Nielsen, Business Development Manager for Blue Water APAC.
Unique tracking Establishing a close relationship with vessel operators has also contributed to ma king Blue Water a preferred partner in the wind industry. And by providing a unique web-based tracking system – developed
by Blue Water’s own IT specialists – the clients can always follow every step of the transport. The transparency of this tracking system builds trust and gives the clients comfort in knowing that they can always see the status of every shipment. Blue Water’s scope comprised loading and unloading in the ports – including discharge onto trailers, shift to storage and supply of cranes for unloading to storage. Blue Water’s experienced supercargos also supervised the operations in the ports and at the storage area.
Latest news from the wind industry Blue Water representatives from Scotland, England and Denmark, participated in EWEA Offshore 2017 in London with a stand at the Danish pavilion. "EWEA Offshore is always a good opportunity to catch up on the latest news from the industry. Most of our offshore wind clients are represented here, so we had some fantastic days with good talks, business meetings and fine celebrations in traditional "Offshore Wind style"", says Jacob Kjærgaard, Head of Project 8
Logistics. "The event is always hosted in a relaxing atmosphere and people come because the decision-makers are here." At the pavilion, Blue Water was re presented by Tim Eskesen, Rob Balance, Brian Sørensen, Klaus Odby Jensen and Jacob Kjærgaard. Next time, EWEA Offshore will be held in Copenhagen Denmark and Blue Water will again be ready to welcome our clients and business relations. September 2017

Presidential visit Blue Water Brest had an interesting experience when our good client Sabella, developing Tidal Turbine energy, invited us to meet Emmanuel Macron. At the time, Macron was running for President in France – a title he later won. Sabella had previously retrieved their nacelle, at a water depth of 60 metres, to inspect the turbine and Emmanuel Macron and his delegation spent a couple of hours on
the site. Here, Fanch Le Bris, the Managing Director of Sabella and Diano Dhomé, Project Manager explained what the future of clean renewable energy offers. “It was a great experience to meet the future President of France and discuss Marine Renewable Energy with him”, says Mogens Nielsen – Manager of Blue Water Brest.
Visiting GE’s nacelle factory In June, the port of St Nazaire/Montoir organised an interesting Offshore Wind event with the presence of Mrs Liz Burdock, Executive Director of the US Business Network for Offshore Wind. Liz is a good friend of Blue Water as we work
together for promoting Offshore Wind in the US. Interesting speeches were given by Liz, DCNS Energies, GE Renewables, Innosea and WPD Offshore. The day finished with a visit at GE’s new nacelle factory in Montoir.
Aunis onshore project In Brest, Blue Water is executing an onshore wind project called Aunis for our good client Valrea. The wind farm is situated close to the port of La Rochelle. We have been awarded the transport of blades from China and tower sections and nacelles from Spain – all units being discharged in the port of La Rochelle by our local partners FAST. “The project will be completed in close cooperation with our offices in China, Singapore and the head office in Denmark – great teamwork” says Project Manager Marianne Girardin.

Tugs for the TCO project A consortium led by Blue Water Shipping is to supply six tugs to assist barges and vessels at Prorva, Kazakhstan As part of the expansion of the Tengiz Oilfield in Kazakhstan, a 75 km CaTRo (cargo transportation route) channel has been built – providing safe passage through the shallow waters of the Caspian Sea to the offloading facilities at Prorva. The purpose-built facilities at Prorva are the key offloading for vessels and barges transporting modules for the expansion of the oil field. Due to the special requirements for operating in the CaTRo channel and at the offloading facilities in Prorva, Blue Water is leading a consortium with Caspian Offshore Construction for the provision of six ASD tugs. The con-
tract’s value exceeds USD 50 m. Caspian Offshore Construction is based in Kazakhstan and is a leading provider of offshore marine fleet services in the Caspian Sea.
Effective cooperation “We are proud to have been awarded this contract. And in Caspian Offshore Construction we have found a solid and experienced partner. We are looking forward to the cooperation, and the tugs are a very important part of the entire logistical set-up in the CaTRo and at Prorva”, states Claus V. Laursen, Blue Water’s Director
for the TCO Project. The ASD tugs will be tasked to assist barges and vessels through the 75-km channel. Furthermore, the ASD tugs will support inside the offloading facility with other port-related work to ensure that all cargo is delivered in a safe and efficient way. The tugs will be constructed in the Netherlands at De Hoop’s yard. The construction will commence immediately and the tugs are expected to be delivered in the first half of 2018.

For years, Blue Water Shipping has provided transport solutions to and from the Caspian Sea. Due to our vast experience in the Caspian area, Blue Water was again chosen as the preferred supplier to transport mooring equipment from Asia to Azerbaijan. The Cargo consisted of approx. 4000 cbm of anchor chains, anchor racks, buoys and steel reels from Holland, China and Singapore. “Blue Water chartered a multipurpose vessel which loaded the cargo in Shanghai and Singapore. After a successful loading operation in both ports, the vessel departed towards Constanta, Romania where all Cargo was transshipped to a river vessel. By the end of June, the river vessel began its voyage through the 18 locks in the Volga-Don Canal and arrived safely and on time in Baku”, says Operations Executive, Nurul Fatin from Blue Water Singapore. The project was jointly executed by Blue Water's offices in China, Singapore, Denmark, Holland, Georgia and Azerbaijan.

BLUE WATER SPIRIT
From ”Lima’s” log book In June, three young sailors, Hans, Nikolaj and Mads, left Sonderborg on board their boat “Lima” bound for the Mediterranean. As sponsor of the project, we have received the first reports from the crew. We hereby bring a summary: “We set out through the Kiel Canal, the Elbe to Delfzijl, Holland and through the canals to Amsterdam. Here, we had a rather rude awakening early one morning as a German captain collided with our boat in the port. Fortunately, “Lima” only suffered minor damages so we were able to continue our journey. “We continued to Calais, France, via Zeebrugge in Belgium, where we happened to run into a music festival. Next, we set the course across the Channel for Dover, England where we saw the famous White Cliffs of Dover and the castle. The crossing was a bit tough, although the traffic was not as bad as expected. Our plan was to meet with Johannes – Englishman and former seaman – whom we had met in Cuxhaven where he had given us a trick or two and now wanted
to show us a real English pub. We also made a detour by train to London before we sailed further west to the Isle of Wight and then across the Channel back to France with a stopover at the Channel Island of Guernsey. Here, our mutual friend, Klaus, signed on and stayed on board the next couple of weeks. We shaped a southerly course, across the Bay of Biscay. During the crossing we saw dolphins, whales and swordfish. Last day on the Biscay brought hurricaneforce winds costing us our autopilot which we now try to repair with assistance from home. One late evening, we arrived at La Coruña, Spain where we spent the following week relaxing until Klaus left us to go home again. We are now sailing towards Portugal along the Spanish coast which offers plenty of anchoring opportunities. We take it easy and slow – bay by bay”.

West Coast Running Event 2017 True to tradition, Blue Water participated in the popular, annual West Coast Running Event which took place in Esbjerg on 11 June and as always attracted a large number of runners and spectators. As in previous years, we had put up a marquee where we, after the race, served grilled sausages to the runners, non-
12
participating colleagues as well as family and friends of the house. Blue Water had entered around 80 runners for the race and the children’s distance of 910 metres was a new and popular initiative. As always, it was a great event and a day spent in good company.

BLUE WATER SPIRIT
Run and fun 15 August was devoted to running and having fun as 280 running and walking teams met in the Vognsbol Park in Esbjerg for the annual Blue Water sponsored relay race. As something new, the concept was extended to also include teams of walkers, each team consisting of five participants. Blue Water had entered a total of 14 walking and running teams and thereby we secured
the cup for the largest number of participating teams from one company. Afterwards all 280 teams each received a picnic basket and spent the rest of the evening enjoying themselves and each other’s company in the park. When darkness fell, torches were lit and the evening ended with a fantastic display of fireworks.

in the competition which was held in late June in Kemi in the northern part of Finland. Here they both succeeded in winning a silver medal with their team, in bar archery and compound archery respectively. Congratulations to Michael and Marcus on their fine results.
Family day in Legoland Sunday 27.8, Blue Water’s staff club in Esbjerg repeated last year’s success when inviting all colleagues of the Esbjerg office and their families to the Legoland Billund No. 118
Resort. Close to 300 happy and excited children and their parents met at Legoland’s family restaurant for lunch. The rest of the day, we had free admission to all
attractions in the park which was naturally very popular with all the children – big and small. Everybody had a fantastic day in the magnificent theme park. 13
BLUE WATER CORPORATE
ISO certification in Singapore
Blue Water’s clients within the Oil and Gas sector are increasingly demanding ISO certified suppliers. As the office in Singapore is deeply involved in this industry, being ISO certified is of great importance. For our clients, the certification means that Blue Water Singapore has a management
system for quality, environment and work environment ensuring that the office follows procedures, policies and targets within each of the three areas. Also, the clients are assured that the office follows the standards which we can prove through audits. Last but not least, it means that the
office conducts ongoing improvements based on internal improvement suggestions as well as feedback from clients and partners. As can be seen from the picture, the certification caused much joy.
Important education The purpose of the recent Incident Ma nagement and Cause Analysis training was to learn how to manage, analyse and extract organisational experience from unwanted events such as accidents, technical failures, delays etc. The training was held in Esbjerg with 11 colleagues participating. Having completed the training, the participants are now able to: understand how management systems and behaviour influence human behaviour and may result in unwanted events – conduct causal analy-
sis – advise colleagues and management on effective incident management - lead an investigation team in connection with an unwanted event - use a systematic method to analyse unwanted events. Five colleagues participated in a threeday course and the remaining six colleagues continued for two more days and finalised the week with an exam. They can now call themselves Bronze Tripod Beta Practitioners.
Introducing whistleblowing Management has introduced a Whistleblower policy and an internal Whistleblower function for all Blue Water employees. The Whistleblower feature is part of the company’s Code of Conduct which ensures that we do business safely and with respect for individuals, the environment and our values. The purpose of the Whistleblower programme is to ensure that we always work within the framework

Olga is a highly valued member of the office and well thought of by customers and other offices alike and always handles her work giving 100 percent dedication and with total diligence. She has a keen interest in dancing, in particular Salsa, and often travels at weekends to participate in events. As she likes to keep fit, she also frequents a local gym. At home, she loves looking after her two Persian cats. She is also a massive lover of the sun, some would say a sun goddess, and loves topping up her tan whenever she can. A favourite summer destination for this is Turkey.
On 1.11.1997, Brian Sørensen/Blue Water Esbjerg started at the Esbjerg office to look after Import/Export of Garments and subsequently Chilled/Frozen Products to Russia. After a posting in Greenland, far from his girlfriend and in close touch with the beautiful nature, Brian returned to Esbjerg and joined our Port Agency team. He was one of our enthusiastic pioneers when we in 2003/2004 seriously started focusing on Wind Turbine Transport and Logistics – for Vestas in particular. Today, Brian is in charge of our Cross Sales and Business Development function and commercially responsible for our Wind Sales activities in Port Service and Wind Logistics – where Vestas’ activities are still close to Brian’s heart. Among his colleagues, Brian is known for his enormous drive and great commitment. Brian is married to Bettina and the couple has two children – Jonas and Julie – and within recent years, the family has September 2017

Joey commutes by bicycle, in good and bad weather, bypassing all traffic jams when hurrying home to his partner, Kim, and their two little sons, Sep and Dex. Bicycling is Joey’s passion. He has, together with another bicycle enthusiast, climbed one of the toughest passes in the Giro d’Italia, the Gavia Pass (8,599 ft).

Julia started her Blue Water career as Manager Assistant, but due to her diligence, aspiration after development and her excellent communication skills, Julia was soon promoted to the Manager position responsible for Road Transport and the Book-keeping of our clients. Does he really mean what he is saying or is he just joking. His manner contributes to creating team spirit across the departments. Torben is a single father of two teenage children – a boy and a girl. If you want to get into conversation with Torben, you should start talking about food and wine.

10th Henriette Daugaard
Poul Henning Nielsen (PH)/Blue Water Esbjerg joined our Esbjerg office on 1.12. 2007 with years of experience from his previous jobs at different shipyards, naval engineering companies and Viking Lifesaving Equipment in Esbjerg. He had quite a flying start in Blue Water as he was sent off to a project in Singapore before he even had time to meet at his future base in Esbjerg. Since then the job has involved considerable travelling. Employing PH was sheer speculation as we had no need for a full-time naval engineer. In the beginning, he also assisted in HSSEQ, but today he is, according to himself, working more than full-time because of our many projects. Today, Blue Water has around ten naval engineers. PH’s leisure pursuits Include sailing and golfing. Most recently, he has also taken an interest in hiking together with his two children.

WASTE-TOENERGY PLANT
Waste-to-energy plant components to China Blue Water has loaded 16 components for the construction of a gigantic waste-to-energy plant for Babcock & Wilcox Vølund A/S in Esbjerg, Denmark Blue Water was responsible for all operations: loading by crane at Babcock & Wilcox Vølund (B&WV), transportation to the port in Esbjerg, loading of the vessel and the sea freight to Shenzhen in China. Also, Blue Water arranged collection of cargo from B&WV’s suppliers and packing of the containers for the shipment. “We are pleased that we have chosen Blue Water as our partner. This is B&WV's largest waste-to-energy project so far and it is therefore extremely important that we have a trustworthy carrier. Throughout the entire process, we have met great understanding and professionalism from Blue Water”, says Flemming Andresen, Purchaser from B&WV. The loading of the 16 components was the first of three DynaGrate® loadings. The cargo weighed 370 ton in total.

“It is a pleasure to be part of a local cooperation on a complex project like this. The first of three shipments was completed exactly as planned”, says Allan Dahl Leiberg from Blue Water. Once the components arrive in China, they will be part of the construction of the waste-to-energy plant which will convert waste to energy. When the plant burns the waste at high temperatures, the steam from the heat will be directed into turbines creating electricity. It is an effective and environmentally friendly method to burn waste. Blue Water has been nominated for an additional two shipments to be executed in the autumn of 2017.
