FOUNDER’S

LETTER This past year has certainly been a big test for each of us. Not long ago I asked my followers on Instagram what has changed in the way they see and live life. I received several answers: “I became less consumerist”, “I learned to create more time to enjoy my children”, “I understood that being in different places is not always synonymous with happiness”, “I discovered that I like to receive people at home”, and so many other lessons that make it clear that we must first find the joy within ourselves. If we can’t contemplate the beauty of a flower, or the taste of a sip of wine, then nothing, absolutely nothing, will make us truly complete and happy. My husband laughs at me, because sometimes I pick up a glass of water and say “wow, what a delicious, refreshing cold water, wow!” - it may sound silly but it’s those little moments that absolutely change everything around us. Do you know why? Because every gesture of gratitude, every moment that you smile at those around you, every gesture of love that you practice, literally, or rather physically, makes your magnetic field even more positive energetically. Look, this is a part that few of you know about me. I talk a lot about travel, brands, people, but I have said very little so far here about energy and spirituality. Since we are “out of one´s senses” and reinventing ourselves, I would like to leave here some tips for this return to the new normal to be of great positivity and good things in your life. That you can move around as before, but without old fears. So, think about this little list: Stop comparing yourself to others. FOMO (the famous “fear of missing out”) is something we create in our heads. If you

FOLLOW @CLAURIBEIRO ON INSTAGRAM

feel bad that you are “missing out” on some event, I suggest you put on some headphones, close your eyes, and turn on the playlist you love the most! Then call a cheerful cool aunt, or a friend, and, voila, no more sadness! Don’t put yourself down. Don’t say or think bad things about yourself. Listen, there are plenty of people that point fingers at us. If you don’t appreciate yourself, who will? And I’m going to whisper something in your little ear: we work our flaws on our own. We strive to be better at each one of them, but we don’t have to point anything out to anyone. Deal? Accept compliments and things that are given to you as a gift. This is my Achilles’ heel. I am always embarrassed when I receive a gift and I want to return the compliment and the gesture of affection. Recently I was embarrassed to receive a great gift from a person I really like, but with whom I am not very close. I was embarrassed, called him back and told him I couldn’t accept. Do you know what he said? “Clau, accept from the heart what Heavenly Father is giving you. You have already done so much for me, always sending me ideas, and never charging me. Accept it, this is from the heart.” He said this in such a beautiful way that it made me soft. Then I stopped and thought: if you say no to what people give you, the Universe understands that you are not very keen on receiving things. Wow! That was a turning point in my life. Here’s a tip, okay? You can send me gifts from now on. These are just a few things, the list is huge. I promise to go into more detail on this subject in my Instagram - follow me there @clauribeiro so we can exchange ideas and talk about lifestyle, prosperity, and energy. A big kiss, thank you for being here!

COMES FROM WITHIN @NATALIABONIFACCI | BASIC.SPACE

Italian international model Natalia Bonifacci talks about her journey in search of a healthy relationship with herself and her self-image. Beyond the runway, the actress, writer and editor reveals her true essence: a storyteller. Natalia Bonifacci was discovered while eating a sandwich with her mother in Milan at the age of 13. The Italian, who had never imagined working as a model, has in her portfolio work for brands such as Gucci and Pomellato. In an interview with Lifestyle Mag, Natalia talked about the aesthetic pressure of growing up as a model and how, for what may be the first time in her life, she has developed a healthy relationship with her self-image.

PROFILE

@LIFESTYLEMAG

LM: Before you were discovered, had you ever considered modeling? I didn’t see myself as “beautiful” at that time, so being discovered was a surprise. It was hard to admit to myself that it was something that I wanted. Sometimes I felt judged by others, but I think for a long time I was the harshest judge. I believe I had a bit of “imposter syndrome”. I don’t feel that way anymore, but, you know, I was the tall, thin girl with the posture adjuster, so it took a while to digest that.

“ I developed a lot of respect for it having carried my baby, delivered my baby naturally, without anesthesia, and breastfed him for so long. It’s crazy and kind of magical.” LM: Throughout your career, how have you dealt with aesthetic pressure? When I look back, I realize that, there were situations that I wasn’t emotionally prepared for. It was an age where I was still discovering myself and needed to be physically analyzed by clients - and sometimes agents. I went through phases where I didn’t love and accept my body completely, because I was told everything that was wrong with it. And everyone has a different opinion. It is very hard to stay confident. I learned not to take rejections personally, and I started to love myself a lot. LM: How is, today, your relationship with your self-image? It is pretty healthy, I think for the first time. A big change started when I got pregnant. You kind of surrender to your body growing and changing, and you don’t have any control over it. And I developed a lot of respect for it carrying my baby, giving birth to my baby naturally, without anesthesia, and breastfeeding him for so long. It’s crazy and kind of magical. Honestly, today I am more interested in my mental health and taking care of myself with things that are good for my soul. It’s totally cliché, but when you feel good inside, you feel good outside.

FAST FORWARD @KARLACIMED | CIMEDREMEDIOS.COM.BR Cimed’s Vice President, Karla Marques Felmanas, talks about the projects and challenges faced during her almost 30 years at the head of one of the largest pharmaceutical industries in Brazil Karla Marques Felmanas was 17 years old when she started working at Cimed, a company founded by her father in 1977. After working in different fronts and areas, Karla now holds the vice-presidency of the company, which has more than 5 thousand employees and 60 thousand points of sale in the national territory. With her democratic and energetic leadership, the businesswoman works every day having on the horizon a mission that becomes even more significant in times of the pandemic: to make health a priority for Brazilians.

“We changed the production of one of the cosmetics lines to make alcohol gel 70%, something that did not exist in the portfolio, which had as its sole purpose the donation to hospitals and company staff” @LIFESTYLEMAG

LM: Looking back, how do you evaluate your trajectory with the company? It is a constant learning process, but transparency and objectivity are two premises that I carry with me. I try to be democratic and interact with the team, creating room for debate. I do what I say and I don’t get down in the face of crises, trying to base myself on stimulus and optimism. I notice that the soul of Cimed also carries these characteristics.

LM: How do your values and purposes coincide with those of the company? I strongly believe in Cimed’s purpose, which is to provide health and quality of life to all Brazilians, offering quality products at an affordable price. What I think and want for Brazil is reflected in what the company wants and offers.

LM: Among the projects you’ve led, which one makes you most proud? There were many over the years, but the most recent was in 2020. We changed the production of one of the cosmetics lines to make alcohol gel 70%, something that did not exist in the portfolio, which had as its sole purpose the donation to hospitals and company staff”.

LM: If you could give an advice to that Karla at the beginning of her career, what would it be? Resilience, strength, and courage! Everything I experienced inside and outside the company during all these years was essential for me to mature and be secure in the position I have today.

LM: What was the biggest challenge you faced in your career? With the pandemic, we reinvented ourselves and continued with production. It was a big challenge to restructure the work system - we created health and safety committees, reorganized the daily routine to follow all the prevention measures, and kept the plant, in Pouso Alegre, active. I am very grateful to our employees, who spared no effort so that we could guarantee the production of medicines in such a challenging moment.

LEE RADZI WILL Known by many as “Jackie Kennedy’s sister,” Lee Radziwill lived her life as a force of nature, which reflects to this day on the world’s fashion

@LIFESTYLEMAG

ICON

“Oh no, darling, you never put your initials on anything, ever”

@LIFESTYLEMAG

Reducing Lee Radziwill to “Jackie Kennedy’s sister” is like trying to encapsulate the ocean in a glass of water. Yes, it would even be theoretically correct to say that she is a former 20th century princess and socialite, interior designer, and PR director for Giorgio Armani, but her complexity goes beyond each and every one of these labels, because someone like Lee can only be conjured up in the plural. If in childhood Lee felt so lonely that she tried to adopt a child to keep her company, in adulthood she had no lack of good friends. Her social circle embraced the likes of Truman Capote, Andy Warhol, Marc Jacobs, and Sofia Coppola. Lee Radziwill enchanted by her strength and uniqueness, and style shaped the looks of anyone who lived with her. Martin Grant himself went on to simplify his collections inspired by Lee. Marc Jacobs described her as “the beauty of uniqueness, of disruption, or intelligence,” and as if that were not enough, the designer took her advice even when decorating his home - “no, darling, you never put your initials on anything, ever. Lee Radziwill followed multiple paths: she studied art in Italy, worked at Harper’s Bazaar, and received harsh criticism when she played socialite Tracy Lord in the play The Philadelphia Story. She had a successful interior design studio, went on tour with the Rolling Stones, served eight years as PR director for Giorgio Armani, and even became royalty, marrying Polish Prince Stanislas Radziwill and giving birth to two sons. Lee lived 85 years of a passionate life, perhaps because she lived it with such intent. To refer to her as “Jackie Kennedy’s sister” is frivolous, but it is an understandable shortcut when words are rare to describe someone who has fascinated generations by being true to herself with the determination of a force of nature.

TIMELESS STYLE

@LIFESTYLEMAG

Created by Louis Cartier in 1924, the three-link ring intertwines three rings made of rose gold, yellow gold, and silver.

PARFAIT ÉQUILIBRE @CARTIER I WWW.CARTIER.COM One of the greatest artistic personalities of the early 20th century, Jean Cocteau was 35 years old when he approached his friend Louis Cartier to ask, in his resolute way, for a sketch of what would become one of the greatest - and most desired - icons of French jewelry to this day. The French poet and filmmaker’s intention was to give it as a gift to a friend and, at the same time, as a mark of an existence lived with intensity. For this, he needed a piece loaded with symbolism and meaning. Demanding in his circle of friends, Cocteau had a close relationship with figures such as Édith Piaf, Picasso, Pierre Bergé, and Colette. A celebrated phraser and owner of a multifaceted talent, he used to propagate the idea that “The happiness of a friend delights us. It enriches us. It takes nothing away from us”. The result of his order, therefore, could not be any other: composed of three intertwined rings, the Trinity ring, created in 1924, became a classic symbol of union. Filled with particularities, the model carries solid allegories, with white gold being associated with friendship, yellow gold with fidelity, and pink gold with love.

The very fashionable Trinity Ruban solitaire came in 2014, and I said Yes!

TIMELESS STYLE

Today, that same ring, almost a hundred years old, can have various combinations of materials and colors, with or without sparkles, and different sizes. Such is its fascination that the three intertwined links have also become part of necklaces, earrings, and bracelets, which have adorned the looks of many personalities - Kate Middleton has already paraded with different pieces, while her mother-in-law, Princess Diana, liked to wear the classic ring on her little finger. Jean Cocteau himself wore two jewels on his little finger.

“The happiness of a friend delights us. It enriches us.”

The fact is that Trinity wedding rings have become a reference for important and different occasions, becoming an object of desire for those who receive them, as well as for those who give them as gifts. Probably this is due to the care Cartier takes to maintain itself as a brand committed to excellence in high jewelry, present in the fineness of detail of its pieces, as well as in its finishing and perfect cuts, without ever distancing itself from modernism and jeunesse.

The eternal figure who represents what pure elegance is, Grace Kelly, loved the Trinity, which later became a bracelet and a necklace - loved to style both men and women. @LIFESTYLEMAG

orn in Mexico, Julie Sariñana was a child when she moved to Los Angeles with her family. The movement was all stitched together by her father, a tailor in Beverly Hills, who tailored to provide for the family. On the other side of the line, Julie’s mother also made fashion the catwalk of household savings: owner of a thrift store, the matriarch of the clan scavenged for novelties on a daily basis, which she showed off like a ritual to her loyal customers, who waited for her at the door of the store from four in the morning.

“There needs to be a full spectrum of colors and ages. In today’s fashion, we only see young people. Why not put an older woman, with gray hair, who has wrinkles?” These experiences served as the basis for Julie’s first steps into the fashion world and led to the launch of “Sincerely, Jules”, twelve years ago. Today, the Mexican bombshell works alongside her photographer husband, Frenchman Kevin Berru, who clicked the cover of this issue. Her influence is such that even brands like Billabong and Bandier have hitched a ride, releasing collections signed by Julie. Now, the influencer exerts her entrepreneurial streak and launches its new commercial bet: the nail polish brand Color Dept. Available in seven colors + a top coat, the nail polishes are cruelty-free, 100% vegan and serve the mission of promoting diversity and inclusion – Julie’s priorities. “Color Dept. is designed to be inclusive, diverse, fun and happy, while celebrating each of our differences and unique individualities,” she said.

LM: What was the beginning of Sincerely Jules like back in 2009?

Initially, it was just fashion trends and me talking about what I liked. It progressed, and I slowly began taking photos. I would ask friends or family to take pictures of me. At that time I was young, and I couldn’t afford a lot of things, so I had to borrow clothes from my sisters or friends and pretend they were mine. I would drive around to find good locations for photo shoots. I would change in the car, and it was all very new and exciting! I was learning as I was doing it. It took off from there and has evolved so much over the years, but the beginnings were humble.

LM: You have had collections with several brands, including Billabong, and now Bandier. How do these collaborations work?

I am very involved in the collaborative process. I want to make sure that the collection identifies closely with my style, and represents something that I would wear. The most recent one was with Bandier. We really wanted the first collection to be inspiring and uplifting. I always want the pieces - and all my work - to tell a story. I want people to be able to create their own stories from these collections as well. I want it to be affordable for my followers, and my community. Quality and price is something that is always a focus in the design process, I want it to be accessible to everyone.

LM: For you, what changes still need to happen in the fashion industry?

The industry needs to be more inclusive of age, race, and size. In fashion, we only commonly see young people. We need to celebrate and appreciate aging, and style at every age. All skin colors, and body types need to be supported and embraced. We are all beautiful, unique, and real. Fashion is about people, and style. It’s not about facade. For the collection I did with Bandier, it was very important to have curvy, latina models, and to include many different sizes, not just S to L. The larger sizes sell out fast, so the demand is there, but the brands are not meeting it, which is extremely disappointing. I am trying to do my part to really change and be a voice in this cause. I am a woman of color, an immigrant, and I will always fight for this space.

COVER STORY

LM: How has the work been in these months of the pandemic?

It was difficult to navigate how fashion mattered in the wake of the pandemic. I wanted to change the conversation, and focus my energy and my platform on compassion. I wanted to help people who were suffering due to Covid. The other side of that was, I remember receiving a text from a girl saying that my posts had helped her dream of better and positive things for the future, and that touched me. I realized that I had to keep going. If my posts were giving people hope, then I had to find a way to uplift others in the dark time we were in.

LM: What changed in your life during this time?

This was the first time Kevin and I really enjoyed and were able to appreciate our home. We were able to cook which was really nice. Every night he had a glass of wine and I had a Margarita, and we played Rummikub or watched series and movies on Netflix. We really enjoyed this time together, and we had never had this before, since we are always traveling. It was a good time for us to start over and connect. We just enjoyed each other’s company. It was another level of intimacy, and I’m grateful for that.

LM: We would like some travel tips from you. What would be the best place for a romantic dinner in Los Angeles?

DAMA: Downtown LA. Whoever goes there will thank me later. The food and service are amazing, and it feels like you are in Cuba! The restaurant is beautiful, the music is lively, and the vibe is amazing.

LM: Best place for brunch with friends?

Ysabel, on Melrose and Fairfax. This one is in the West Hollywood area, and has wonderful pancakes, which I love! The mimosas are great, and I love going there with friends for brunch.

LM: Best place for a business meeting?

The Proper Hotel in Santa Monica. It’s a simply stunning location, also another one that comes to mind is, Bottega Louie. I was there last week for a meeting with Bandier, and it is a great place to go with a group.

SOUL SISTER PROFILE

@SISTERLYSTYLE | SISTERLYSTYLE.COM Amelia and Elisa share a house, a closet, and one of their greatest passions: Sisterly Style, a profile in which they produce content about fashion, beauty, and travel.

“We share a whole life: the same best friends, activities, bedroom, closet, work. Minus boyfriends. That can’t be shared. says Elisa, between laughs. Colombians Amelia and Elisa were born Siamese twins and after they were separated at 4 months, they maintained a connection that goes far beyond the physical. Together they created Sisterly Style, where they produce content on fashion, beauty and travel, followed closely by more than 430,000 followers on Instagram.

LM: You define yourselves as sisters, best friends and soul mates. Is your relationship harmonious all the time? LM: What are the main differences between you?

Elisa: My mom says we are like the perfect marriage. We have our differences, so sometimes we argue, but soon we move on. Amelia: My temperament is stronger and more dominant. Elisa: And mine is more sensitive or emotional, which is compatible with our responsibilities at Sisterly Style. Amelia is more in charge of finances, administration, dealing with clients, and I am more in charge of content and creative direction.

LM: How would you describe your style?

Elisa: We are eclectic, but we love the casual style with a Latin and chic touch. Amelia is more classic and neutral, and I am more risky and eclectic, so I think our style is the perfect mix between the two. Amelia: We create looks for special events together. When I was buying my wedding dress, Elisa said “you have to buy that dress, I am your stylist and I am telling you, that is your dress”.

@LIFESTYLEMAG

“We share a whole life: the same best friends, activities, bedroom, closet, work. Minus boyfriends. That can’t be shared. LM: What is the biggest challenge that you faced together?

Amelia: We went through so much together, as sisters and twins, but also as a family. Extremely difficult and painful situations, like when my father passed away 11 years ago, which broke our hearts. And last year we lost our niece Mia, who was fighting against a brain cancer. The support and love of the people around us was the only way to get through it.

LM:ou always shared the same room and the same routine. How are you feeling about the changes with Amelia’s marriage?

Elisa: We were very happy, but in the beginning, I was a little bit in shock, like “oh my God, this moment is here”. I think it’s a natural part of life. It’s hard, we are going to miss each other a lot, but it’s a new chapter, and we feel grateful and blessed because we will still see each other every day.

Quantum Diet, unlike traditional nutrition, seeks to apply quantum physics to study how toxic materials and electromagnetic waves affect our body, contributing to health and, therefore, to weight loss. We talked to Catherine Vanazzi, an expert in Quantum Biophysics and Resonance Applied to Health, to find out all the secrets about this subject. For those who are tired of dieting and not seeing any results, it is important to know that all food that is bad for us triggers an inflammatory process in the body. The consequence of this is the loss of lean mass and the gain of fat - the worst nightmare for someone who is trying to lose weight. Some foods, for example, are potentially inflammatory, such as milk, gluten, and peanuts, among others. Others require more detailed tests to discover a possible allergy. So far, so good. But what about leaves? Due to the lectin protein, some raw leaves can also cause inflammation in

some people. For this reason, the Quantum Diet comes to investigate, in detail, what is and what is not good for each individual. And how is the test done? “With bioresonance exams, qualified professionals can tell how the waves emitted by the food react to your body on an electromagnetic level,” says Catherine. “Thus, it is possible to understand what your compatibility is with each food and avoid new inflammations, potentiating weight loss. The test can even be done remotely, by sending a photo of the patient’s body (as instructed by the professional) and a lock of hair. In summary, a balanced diet with the Quantum Diet techniques helps you eliminate only what is bad for you, without following the wave of magic solutions, reproduced worldwide now, even without scientific basis. It is, therefore, a personalized diet that suits you, respects your body, and helps you reach your goals.

DESIGN DESIRE

It seems like a big dream come true, since she used to play with the scalimeter at her architect cousin’s house as a little girl - the beginning of a passion. Even while I was studying law, to fulfill family wishes, I decorated friends’ houses and never got the art out of my head. Finally, with her degree finished, she felt free to finally study interior design. For Maria, being a designer is about creating beautiful atmospheres, but where anyone can feel comfortable. In the same way, her timeless and classic style blends with textures and natural materials to form an environment that will never go out of style. A style of thinking that has taken her further and further. In 2015, after a few years working with other offices, she opened her own studio. She took on the challenge and managed to create relationships with good suppliers and craftsmen - a key factor in achieving good results in her projects. From then on, his elegant eye composes the space, orchestrating rooms balanced in tone and feeling. The decoration only comes in the last stage. The essential @LIFESTYLEMAG

begins in the draft of the house, in the harmony that shapes the ceilings, the floors, and that gives life to the environment. Less is more. Maria says that if someone looks at one of her renovations and thinks the room has always been that way, she has achieved her goal. Having a classic and balanced style marks her works, among which Nuñez de Balboa is a reference in her portfolio.

“When I go for a walk, a simple building door can inspire me,” says Maria Santos. This is how she continues her life as a creative person, based on her instinct, confidence in herself, and the incessant search for inspiration.

“Our hyaluronic acid has 10% of the ingredient, so it really has high concentration and performance” Stay hydrated, exercise and, especially, do a lot of skincare. This skin care routine is followed to the letter by the businesswoman and fashion influencer Helena Bordon. Every night, she takes a moment to connect with herself and follow the step by step established by her dermatologist, Dr. Alessandra Fraga, who has been handling products customized for Helena’s sensitive and oily skin for nine years. In 2020, Helena and Alessandra united around a long-time desire - to launch a brand together. They began to idealize the project in March and, in December, Hela Beauty hit the market. “Hela was born from the desire to bring those products that I already used, that Dr. Alessandra manipulated for me, for everyone to use,” says Helena. Hela Beauty has vegan products, sustainable packaging and formulas without toxic products to the skin or the environment. In addition, it is a therapeutic line, composed of treatment products. In June, Hela Beauty enters Sephora’s brand

portfolio. “I really liked that it is a line for Brazilian skin, with textures that work in our climate. Many people stop using skincare products because they find the textures too heavy, and the Hela ones are great, easily absorbed”, says makeup artist and Sephora’s trainer, Carol Zaia. For now, there are six products, ranging from the essential cleansing mousse, for daily cleaning, to the hyalo booster, hyaluronic acid serum with preventive action, composing a skincare routine recommended for all skins. “We made a basic line, but very complete, that everyone must have,” says Helena. With Hela Beauty, Helena reaffirms her position in a market with more and more influencers investing in their own brands. “As I work with other brands, you see what the client likes, what the followers like, so you understand both sides: consumer and brand.” With four of the six products already sold out, there is no doubt: Helena and Alessandra really understood what Brazilian women’s skin needed.

I have had plenty of time to analyze the places that are really worth going back to. After all, after a year locked up at home, what we most want now is to explore the world, to live life. There are many places that I want to visit, but several that I am keen to return to. One of them is the Hotel Du Cap in Antibes in the south of France. The hotel that was immortalized by the lenses of Slim Aarons, had in its sheets illustrious guests such as Picasso, Ernest Hemingway and Ella Fitzgerald. The exquisite hospitality has lasted for more than 150 years, and not for nothing.
