Hi! I am Byron, a visual artist, currently based in Abu Dhabi, UAE. I am drawn to creating visually poignant narratives of the human condition. This allows me to illustrate and paint places through dream-like imagery, mostly inspired from places I lived and traveled into. During the day, I practice full-time as a Landscape architect and an Urban designer. SOFTWARE SKILLSET

I was born in the Philippines in 1991 and grew up in the suburbs of southern Manila. From my teenage years all I knew was that I really loved drawing and writing stories. For some reason this led me to a career in the built environment- landscape design, urban design, master planning. Thankfully these are disciplines that I am still able to use my drawing skills. In the recent years, however, I rediscovered my love for painting and started taking it seriously. Coming from the lush tropics of Philippines and Singapore, I landed a job in Abu Dhabi with a great zeal and affinity for the unique landscape and geography this region has to offer. I am still new both in the life, the weather, the scenes, the people, and the artistic community. Regardless of career or direction, I realized that all of us have some kind of sparkling energy in our core that is unique, a special voice or awareness, a desire to share observations about the world, to say something important, to do something we might call inspiring - Not just for others, but for ourselves, to figure out who we are and why we are here. It’s just recently called myself an artist - but now, as I sign this contract with myself (and I’m sure is the case with other careers), I hope I can continue pursuing that search for meaning, both individually and together with people who sees something in our work.

Medium: Mixed media (Watercolor and pencil) A series of drawings depicting a parallel world of technology information. We operate in a hyperconnected world - always on, and we go at it with great pace and intensity. This demands a question: Amidst this technology and flood of information, how do we become aware to work first in our inner technology with all of the demands in our time and our attention? How do we discern the signal from the noise, in order to access and act on what is essential within most of us?

Drawings from UAE Medium: Mixed media (Watercolor and pencil) Size: 148x297mm A collection of drawings from everyday scenes I chance upon living in the UAE.
