OLSEN Surreal Imagination….I don’t know if anyone really knows what that means, but it seems to apply to my style. A long time ago an artist friend of mine looked at my drawings and told me to never stop drawing and that my work had a very emotional pull to it. Those were such great words of encouragement, but my art is not a choice. It is part of me. I draw when I’m sad, happy, depressed, angry, lonely, proud, when I want to give comfort and when I need to be comforted. To have someone look at my art and say that they are “drawn” to it and that they can actually “feel” it, is the highest compliment I have ever gotten. It keeps me wanting to do more, to give more, and so I draw. I hope you enjoy my work and that it touches you in some way as it did me when it was created.

Bend Summer Festival

Thank You! The Bank of the Cascades Bend Summer Festival is the cumulative effort of literally hundreds of staff, volunteers and sponsors. This festival is not possible without the support of the Bend Downtown Business Association and the City of Bend, the insanely hard work of Keep Calm Productions staff, the efforts of several very important independent contractors, and phenomenal financial support from Bank of the Cascades.

Bank of the Cascades Bend Summer Festival 2014 / 23

A Word From the Title Sponsor: “We are proud to continue our support of the Bend Summer Festival, as a signature event for Central Oregon.” said Julie Miller, Oregon Regional President for Bank of the Cascades. “Over the past year our bankers have been working closely with local businesses and neighbors to help reinvigorate the local economy through business and home loans. Summer Festival is a perfect way to celebrate the returning vitality of our community.” Bank of the Cascades’ sponsorship of the Bend Summer Festival reaches beyond financial support to include active participation from the Bank’s team members and their families. Employees from across the company volunteer their time to help make this event successful! “Nothing is more rewarding than seeing so many families in our community enjoying the Bend Summer festival, that’s what community banking is all about!” said Miller.
