about, anyway?

ccording to Mr. Webster, a hullabaloo is defined as a great noise or excitement; an uproar, if you will. Here in NorthWest Crossing, we call it the best darn way to kick-off summer. This one-night-only-so-don’t-youdare-miss-it street festival is a party that has it all—toe-tapping music, thrilling bike races, mouth-watering food, tasty libations, kid-tested fun and more, all in the heart of NorthWest Crossing’s charming neighborhood center. We’re thrilled to welcome Grammy Awardwinning folk-rock duo, The Indigo Girls to the stage this year! Read on to learn all about the exciting stuff taking place at this year’s 7th Annual Hullabaloo! And this is just the first of many fun, family-friendly events taking place in the ‘hood this summer! Our sixth season of the Saturday Farmers Market unfolds the Saturday morning following Hullabaloo and we couldn’t be more excited about the organic growth naturally taking place with this soulful weekly event in our neighborhood. As one of the largest and most popular markets in Central Oregon, it just might become your summer Saturday

morning ritual (see page 10 for more details)! And why spend a beautiful Central Oregon summer evening indoors watching a movie? NorthWest Crossing’s Compass Park is again the host site of the popular NorthWest Crossing Munch & Movies outdoor cinema series, spanning four weeks in late summer (turn to page 13 to see what flicks are going to be on the big screen!). Add to all this triathlons, concerts in the park, home tours and we’ve got a jam-packed season sure to keep you grinning from ear-to-ear all summer long. Many kudos to C3 Events for their year-round efforts that produce enriching and entertaining events for us. Sincere thanks to our businesses, customers, neighbors, sponsors and performers. Without you, none of these incredible events would be possible. We appreciate your support and look forward to a summer full of fun, community gathering, music, art, sport and conversation. — The development team at NorthWest Crossing

Indigo Girls 9:30PM 9:30pM

Twenty years after they began releasing records as the Indigo Girls, Amy Ray and Emily Saliers have politely declined the opportunity to slow down with age. With a legacy of releases and countless U.S. and international tours behind them, the Indigo Girls have forged their own way in the music business. Selling over 14 million records, they are still going strong. Amy & Emily are the only duo with top 40 titles on the Billboard 200 in the '80s, '90s, '00s and '10s.

“Along with Simon & Garfunkel and The Everly Brothers, Amy Ray and Emily Saliers rank at the very top of all-time great duos. The sublime music-making-machine-skewering “Making Promises” is one of their finest rockers.” – The Boston Herald

Franchot Tone

MoWo

Redwood Son and Laura Invancie

It takes a certain, quiet strength to work in the shadows, and an entirely different kind of fortitude to step into the light. Franchot Tone is blessed with all of the above. His sound is unmistakable: take a pitchperfect pinch of vintage reggae and dub, a sun-fried splash of laid-back SoCal pop-rock, and a heaping helping of Metersstyle funk and soul, and you've got Tone's brew.

MOsley WOtta is a Bend, Oregon based band who combine hip hop, folk, rock, country, and jazz. Fronted by Jason Graham, MOsley WOtta deftly engages the audience with music that makes you feel good about who you are. MOsley WOtta seeks to explore and embrace the custom made self and celebrate our differences. In fact, the name Mosley Wotta is a play on words—we are all "mostly water,” no matter what defines our external casing. Known not only for his music, MOsley WOtta is an accomplished public speaker, painter and poet. Their live performances are electrifying and unifying.

Quickly becoming a Bend, Oregon, favorite (having won the Portland Music Award's “Best New Artist"), Redwood Son is on the rise. Boasting a 20-Song double-disc debut album titled "The Lion’s Inside" he brings a dynamic versatility that crosses the borders of their West Coast Americana with hook-laden Roots-Rock and Alt. Country, while maintaining an authentic Universal "Pop" vibe.

4PM

5:30PM

7:30PM

He will be performing with a dear friend and musical collaborator, Laura Invancie. Singer/songwriter Invancie says, “My music dances with the dark side; it is introspective and thought-provoking with a heavy influence of electronica; however, I feel like my voice and melodies have a tendency to swing a bit, giving it a soulful tinge that blends throwbacks like Eva Cassidy with Adele and a modern Sade.”
