Sometimes, I sit in the car on the way to school, And I just think. About anything and everything, and nothing in particular at the same time. I watch the sun rise and wonder what the day will bring for me. My father sits quietly beside me, respecting my silence As I respect his. It's a comfortable silence filled to the brim with pondering and thoughts. Occasionally, the radio serves as white noise. Anything from sticky-sweet bubblegum to earthy grunge floats out of the speakers and passes through our ears. The silence serves as a warm blanket, Comforting us and our inaudible thoughts.
