"You" By Harrison Trent You You are always there for me. You are there when I am as sick as a dog When I am as hurt as broken as a pane of glass. You are there when I am as sad as a waveless ocean As lonely as a lost puppy dog And as happy as a soaring bird in the sky You are always there for, guess who: Me

"The Road Less Traveled" by Harrison Trent When you come to the cross roads of life Most people see two totally separate paths and only two. You have a choice. Take the road with cracks and burrs Which will lead you down the path to nothingness. Or you could take the shiny road That you know will take you to fame and fortune. But, if you feel the need to do something different Go down the middle You may not see it at first But walk towards the woods in the middle a little ways, Hack through the weeds Dip under fallen trees, And you'll find the road less traveled A dirt road that is bumpy in some places And smooth in others. Only one set of footprints are etched in the fine powder of dirt. You find a small note lying on the ground. It says: Be who you want to be. Stay yourself; don't try to be like too many other people You are perfect the way you are. But please take this advice: Take the road less traveled. You finish reading the note And think about it Hard and thoughtfully. So, you take the note's advice, And walk forward Out onto the Road.

" An Image" By Harrison Trent A picture is more than it seems. It is more than just an image on a piece of paper. It is the photographer. The Camera. The lens, The tripod, f-stop, ISO, The scene. It can capture the perfect moment that you could imagine. The scariest place or thing. The happiest person or animal. The most serene, beautiful landscape on the Earth. It can record pictures of things humans can't even see. The tiniest cell in a life form. The larvae of a flea. An image is a lot more than it seems.

"Gargoyles" By Harrison Trent

A gargoyle's concrete face stares down from its perch high above the streets. His face frozen in time, a single moment in the artist's mind. I always wonder what it would is like to live up there. The elements wasting you away. Birds dropping, well, you know, right on your head. The sun constantly baking your skin. A single point to look at every second of your life. It’s hard to imagine something so scary could be so beautiful. Something that can change the way you think of things. A friend that you can never talk to Who has problems, just like you. It is only an object, But it’s more than that.

I would like to dedicate this poetry anthology to my family. They have always helped me, and they have inspired me to strive for more in my life. -Thank You!
