The Red Carpet The sleek, Elongated black car pulls up In front of the building Occupied by thousands of people Everybody holds their breath As the door swings open And a single, High-heeled foot pokes out, Soon followed By the rest of her. Men and women crowd as close as they can, Without breaking through the barriers That the security guards hold. Cameras flash, Reflecting off the star's Sequined gown. Three years, Three years like this. She guesses she'll never get used to it. Questions are shouted. Questions that will remain unanswered As she quickly pushes through the crowd. Voices clash together, Everyone aims to be louder Than everybody else. The yells finally die down As she finally makes her way Into the building Where she can breathe For the first time Since getting out of the vehicle.
