Google Drive: Sharing Video Google provides unlimited storage space. This makes it ideal for storing and sharing a variety of content. In this lesson we will learn how to upload and share video in a variety of formats.

The Google search page will display.
Log into your district account for Outlook and OneDrive. This account now includes a link to access your district Google account. Click on the Google tile.

Look at the top right corner of your browser below the browser toolbar. Here, you will see your district account. To the left of the account is a small box made up of smaller boxes. This box is a pull down menu with a list of apps available from Google under your account. Click on this app menu.
Among the various apps, you will see the Drive app. Click on the Drive app icon.

Google drive will open to display documents or media. To upload a video into your Drive account, click the upload button next to the Create button.
Click on Files from the pull down menu.

A window will open displaying the contents of your computer. Find a video you would like to upload and share. In this example I’ll select a QuickTime video.
The video will begin the upload process. This process could take some time depending on your video file size and Internet connection speed. A progress bar will display to the right of the file and an upload percent indicator will display above the file.

When the upload is complete you will see an upload complete message and a share link to the right of the video. Click on the share link.
A share settings dialogue will display with a link for this file. Currently the video is only viewable by you. To change this, we need to change the access rights. Click on the change link.

Google Drive: Video Sharing let others discover your link through a search. I recommend using this option if the media or document contains sensitive district information or information about children. This option and the previous are the best to use for most circumstances when sharing district specific content. The next option is the option to grant access to anyone that has the share link. Notice that I have this option circled. I will use this option because it grants anyone access to this file. They don’t have to have a district account and they don’t have to sign in. The content is viewable after they click the link.
There are several link sharing options available. The automatic option is at the bottom and allows you to share the link with specific email. This is usually through email.
The last option is to make the media available to anyone on the web that searches for keywords in my media. I won’t select this option because I don’t want this link to be searchable by itself. I want the link to be part of a web page that places the media in context.
Above this, is the option to share the link with any district employee that has the link. The district employee will need to login to their district account after clicking the link if they aren’t already logged in. I recommend using this option if the video contains sensitive content like children’s images and names. The option above this, is the option to make this link searchable so that any district employee can find the link and access it. In this format you can share the link with some and 7

Select the option for anyone with the link and click the save button.
The sharing settings dialogue will display again. The share link will be highlighted. Notice that anyone who has the link can view option is enabled. Copy and Use this link to share the media in a variety of venues.
