CHRISTMAS AND NEW YEAR CONCERTS AT CADOGAN HALL As usual this year Cadogan Hall offers a huge variety of seasonal musical entertainment including carol concerts from The Children’s Trust, a rare chance to see the Choir of Magdalen College, Oxford, plus the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra’s fabulous Christmas Cracker and The Magic of Christmas. The Definitive Rat Pack is also back with their smooth festive classics. We have plenty of family entertainment: Mr Popper’s Penguins will be lots of fun for our younger audience members and we also have Paddington Bear’s First Concert and The Snowman and Peter and the Wolf performed by Mozart Symphony Orchestra. We welcome back the amazing guitarist Miloš Karadaglić playing Rodrigo’s Concierto de Aranjuez on 5 December and Alison Balsom is with us on 9 December with London Chamber Orchestra. New Year gets off to a good start with Joshua Bell and Academy of St Martin in the Fields on 22 January and Sir John Eliot Gardiner and the Monteverdi Choir on 27 January. February sees a huge range of contemporary music events to banish the January blues, beginning with First Ladies of Song – a feel-good celebration of female singer-songwriters on 2 February. It’s not too early to book for Valentine’s Day and you can choose from a screening of the film Brief Encounter accompanied by a live orchestra on 13 February or the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra’s Burt Bacharach celebration on 14 February.

Scarlet and Gold The Bands of the Household Division Taking the title from Lloyd Thomas’s wonderful march, it evokes the splendour and sparkle of the Guards’ uniforms and instruments which, combined with the beautiful setting of Cadogan Hall, promises an evening of musical pomp and grandeur. The concert presents the outstanding talents of the very best military musicians performing a world premier musical commission entitled ‘Scarlet & Gold’ alongside Edward Gregson’s heroic Battle Music & Hymn of Thanksgiving to the more modern John Williams film theme from The Terminal. Direct from the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, the voice of Moray Innes in a Big Band tribute to Frank Sinatra, marking the 100th anniversary of his birth, will ensure an inspiring evening of traditional and modern military music celebrating the very best of our nation’s proud heritage and tradition. The live music performed by some of the finest artists will include Gandhi’s favourite bhajans and classical pieces. A photographic installation of some rare images of Gandhi will be on display. Birad Rajaram Yajnik has spoken on Gandhi at The United Nations, the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, the Nehru Centre in London, and the Tolstoy farm in Johannesburg. He has developed interactive installations in three continents.

Composed just before Mozart’s death in 1971, Symphony No. 40 is characterised by wistful, lyrical strings. In contrast, the Requiem opens with a broad, passionate lament, and allows the Choir to fully display its great virtuosity.

BOOKING INFORMATION Cadogan Hall Box Office Sloane Terrace, London SW1X 9DQ To book in person the Box Office is open Monday-Saturday 10am-6pm and Sunday 12pm-6pm on concert days only. Book online www.cadoganhall.com This is a secure site available 24 hours a day. All bookings subject to a £3.00 transaction fee. You can check the view of the stage from every seat in the hall. Tickets are posted unless the performance is within seven days where tickets will be held for collection. Concessions and student tickets: Where general concessions are available this is defined as under16s, full time students, senior citizens and persons out of work. Tickets are subject to availability and at the discretion of Cadogan Hall. A limited number of £10 student tickets are available for many of our concerts. For availability, please call the Box Office on 020 7730 4500. Refund Protection: TicketPlan Refund Protection is available for your booking. We strongly recommend that you include this option. Your tickets are non-refundable and this will protect you against cancellation resulting from accidents and unexpected illnesses. Full details are available from the Box Office or on our website. Group discounts: Cadogan Hall offers generous discounts for groups of six or more. Discounts vary according to event so please call 020 7730 5744 for further information or to make a group booking. Data Protection: When making a booking your details will be recorded on to our database and may be used by Cadogan Hall and our associates to inform you of forthcoming events. If you do not wish to receive this information please inform the Box Office at the time of booking. Conditions of sale: Please note that tickets cannot be exchanged or refunded. Only one discount is available per booking. Children under five will not be admitted to Cadogan Hall except for family shows, where each child must have their own seat. We reserve the right to remove children from the auditorium if they are not well behaved. Price band structure reflects the level of comfort and clarity of view. We regret we cannot guarantee unrestricted view at all times due to the varying nature of performances.

ACCESSIBILITY Free companion / Assistance scheme Cadogan Hall has a range of services to assist disabled customers including provision for wheelchair users in the stalls. Customers in receipt of disability-related state benefits, and members of our Access Scheme, may be entitled to concessionary ticket prices for some events or a free companion seat. Please contact the Box Office for a form to register for Cadogan Hall’s Access Scheme. Wheelchair users If you use a wheelchair and wish to transfer to a seat, we regret we may not be able to provide a member of staff to help you physically. However, we will arrange for your wheelchair to be taken away and stored. A lift is located to the right once inside the Box Office reception allowing access to a lowered Box Office counter. Foyer areas are on the same level as the Box Office and the foyer bar (Oakley Room) is accessed via a wide access lift. Seats within the stalls are accessed via a wide lift as are adapted toilet facilities. The Gallery Please note the lift provides access to all levels except the gallery seating areas. Gallery seating can only be accessed via the main stairwell. When travelling to and from the gallery seating areas please allow sufficient time in order to be seated at an appropriate time. Customers with hearing requirements The auditorium is fitted with an infra-red amplification system. This is not the same as a Loop System so switching your hearing aid to ‘T’ is not sufficient. Please contact a member of staff on arrival to be given an amplification aid. Customers with sight impairment Guide dogs are welcome to access the hall and auditorium but please do let us know prior to arriving at the hall so we may make any special arrangements if necessary. We produce CD versions of this brochure. To request a free copy please call the Box Office and ask to be added to our regular lists. ‘Touch / Familiarisation’ tours can be arranged and we have unisex accessible toilets on all levels except the Gallery.
