Day 1 | In Transit Depart for Copenhagen, Denmark. Day 2 | Copenhagen, Denmark Transfer to the Radisson Collection Hotel, Royal Copenhagen. Free Time: Your afternoon is at leisure. Meet your fellow travelers at a Welcome Reception. Day 3 | Copenhagen Enrichment: Scandinavia Today. Discovery: Rosenborg Castle. In this 17th-century gem, view royal furnishings, admire the crown jewels and stroll through the castle’s fragrant gardens. Relax over lunch at a typical Danish restaurant. Discovery: The Canals of Copenhagen. On a guided cruise, see Amalienborg Palace, the Opera House, the Little Mermaid statue and more. Free Time: Explore Copenhagen on your own. Day 4 | Copenhagen Discovery: Copenhagen, Past and Present. Enter secret courtyards and meander past hidden squares on a guided walking tour. Hear enchanting tales of the city’s rich history and famous Danes, including author Hans Christian Andersen. Free Time: Craft your own agenda this afternoon. Day 5 | Copenhagen | At sea Free Time: Enjoy your last morning in the city. This afternoon, transfer to the port and board an overnight ferry for Oslo, Norway. Day 6 | Oslo, Norway This morning, head deckside and be greeted by breathtaking views of the forest-lined Oslo Fjord. Discovery: Oslo. Visit Holmenkollen Ski Jump, the steep slope used in the 1952 Winter Olympics, and relish the stunning, sweeping vistas. Visit the nearby Ski Museum chronicling Norway’s 4,000-year history of Nordic and downhill skiing. Continue to Vigeland Park to see sculptures by artist Gustav Vigeland. Enjoy an introduction to Norwegian cuisine at lunch. Check in to the Radisson Blu Scandinavia Hotel. Free Time: Spend the afternoon at leisure. Day 7 | Oslo Discovery: Nordic Seafarers. At the Viking Ship Museum, view wonderfully preserved ceremonial burial ships, buried more than 1,100 years ago. Continue to the Kon-Tiki Museum to see the balsa raft Kon-Tiki and the totora-reed boat Ra II, the vessels of Norwegian explorer Thor Heyerdahl. Free Time: Make your own discoveries in Oslo. Day 8 | Oslo | Bergen Depart for Bergen this morning. Discovery: Bergen Railway. Travel to Bergen on Europe’s highest altitude railway and one of the most scenic routes in the world. See marvelous scenery as you travel across the Hardangervidda, a plateau at more than 4,000 feet above sea level. The tracks climb to Finse, the highest point on the route, then the landscape changes dramatically as the train edges along lovely fjords, tumbling waterfalls and emerald forests. Keep an eye out for wild reindeer! Arrive and check in to the Radisson Blu Royal Hotel. Free Time: Get to know alluring Bergen, nestled by a sheltered harbor and set amid seven mountains. Day 9 | Bergen Enrichment: The Fjords of Norway. Discovery: Bergen. Medieval Bergen was a major trading post for maritime merchants of the Hanseatic League. Walk through their old warehouses in the historic wharf, Bryggen, and see other landmarks. Next, tour hilltop Troldhaugen, the summer home of the revered composer Edvard Grieg. Free Time: Plan a fun afternoon in Bergen! Day 10 | Myrdal | Fjords | Voss district Discovery: The Best of Norway. Journey through some of the most wild, scenic wonders of Norway. Begin with a train journey on the Bergen Railway to Myrdal. Continue on a thrilling ride aboard the Flåm Railway, one of the steepest train rides in the world. Wind past snow-dusted peaks, where tiny farms cling to precipitous slopes and rivers and waterfalls slice through deep ravines. Spiral through mountainside tunnels to the pristine Aurlandsfjord, which is a branch of the Sognefjord, Norway’s longest fjord. Cruise the waters of Aurlandsfjord to Gudvangen before exploring the Voss district, where vistas of mountains, forests, lakes and waterfalls await you! Tonight, gather with your fellow travelers to celebrate your Nordic adventure at a Farewell Dinner. Day 11 | In Transit After breakfast, transfer to the Bergen airport for the return flight to your gateway city.
