Capay Canyon Ranch It’s not typical that we are able to enjoy seedless grapes this late in October. The late warm weather has provided us with Autumn Royal grapes from Stan and Leslie Barth, owners of Capay Canyon Ranch in Esparto, CA. The Barth family kicks off the season with Red Flame grapes in July and then moves onto the Autumn Royal variety, which ripens in Early September. It has a black-red skin and a crisp crunchy bite. This is a new variety, grown on the farm only in the last several years. It has been a huge success with customers due to its large berry size and sweet flavor. In addition to table grapes Stan, Leslie and their two children Todd and Tirzah, farm 200 acres of organic almonds and walnuts, which are sold worldwide. Both Stan and Leslie were born into farm families in Winters, CA and are happy to see their children carry on the tradition.
