Dear Registered Amateur BBQ Team The Spring Valley Tailgate & BBQ Festival Committee is pleased to welcome your team to cook in our third annual festival. We are excited that you have chosen to be a participating amateur BBQ Team for our Festival! To better help serve you and your team as you prepare for Sunday we have included some housekeeping items in this initial email. The event is going to be held in front of Cali Comfort Restaurant at 8910 Troy Street, Spring Valley, CA 91977 on Sunday, October 14, 2012. We are pleased to announce that Valley Farms Market will be providing competition meat for you team to cook and additional meat available for purchase at a 20% discount! Should you wish to use the meat provided, please bring this email on Saturday, October 13 after 1 PM to Valley Farm Markets located at 9040 Campo Road, Spring Valley, CA 91977 (619) 463-9595. With this email you will be given (1) Rack of St. Louis-style Pork Ribs, (2) Chicken Halves, & (1) Tri-Tip piece which will be individually sealed and unseasoned. Please note that carne asada will not be provided but will be available for purchase as well. Troy Street will be closed to through traffic at the corner of Bancroft Avenue and Troy Street (7-11 is the landmark) starting at 7 a.m. on Sunday morning. We require all BBQ Teams and Vendors to enter the Festival from Central Avenue and Troy Street. We will have a staff member who will check you in at this entrance at 7 a.m. Sunday morning. You will be assigned your vendor space at this time and a staff member will show you where your team can set up. Parking will be assigned at a first come, first served basis until the on-site lots are full. After our lots are full and after 8:45 a.m. all vendors and BBQ Teams will be required to park outside the festival grounds on the surrounding streets. Please refer to the Rules & Regulations Form for other details to consider prior to the event. You will receive a follow up email this week with more details on how to make this event a safe and successful one!
