Britian’s Most Iconic Sporting Venues Britain not only invented most of the world's sports but pioneered them. Wembley Stadium Built on the site of the world famous original Wembley stadium, this new development took four years to build and offers the most up-to-date facilities for fans and players alike. Costing ÂŁ757 million - it's worth every penny. Its trademark arch is a design triumph and in keeping with the original stadium's iconic Twin Towers. The stadium is the home of the English national team and hosts the FA Cup final as well as the Championship and League 1 and 2 playoffs. The stadium was also awarded the honour of holding the 2011 Champions League Final. Wembley is a true all-sporting arena, hosting the rugby league Challenge Cup Final every year as well as rugby union and American football matches. Its 90,000 seat capacity has also made it a popular concert venue, with Muse, Madonna and U2 all gracing its hallowed turf. Located in Britain's capital, the stadium has excellent bus and rail transport links, allowing fans a quick journey home whether they win or lose.


Edgbaston Cricket Ground Established in 1882, this famous ground is home to Warwickshire County Cricket Club. The stadium now has a 25,000 capacity and offers one of the finest sporting atmospheres around. The ground underwent massive post-war development, with the construction of a new scoreboard, executive boxes and an indoor cricket school. However it still retains the same sense of style and history that had it selected as the first venue in the inaugural Ashes series. A trip to Edgbaston also affords fans an excellent opportunity to explore the midlands region, with some excellent tourist attractions and hotels in Birmingham. Tynecastle Stadium Home to Heart of Midlothian, the club have played on this iconic site since 1886. Tynecastle offers old school charm with excellent modern improvement and is consistently voted as having the best atmosphere in SPL fan surveys. The close proximity of its stands to the pitch means that you can hear everything being said by the players and feel genuinely involved in the match. Its traditional main stand is the crowing jewel of the stadium and was built by renowned architect Archibald Leitch.
