Tonight: Compelling Conversations Sara Miles

is the founder and director of The Food Pantry , and serves as Director of Ministry at St. Gregory of Nyssa Episcopal Church in San Francisco. Her books include Jesus Freak: Feeding, Healing, Raising the Dead, and Take This Bread: A Radical Conversion. She speaks, preaches and leads workshops around the country, and her writing has appeared in the New York Times Magazine, the New Yorker, and on National Public Radio.

Bishop Mariann Edgar Budde

is the spiritual leader of Episcopalians in the District of Columbia and four Maryland counties--Montgomery, 3ULQFH *HRUJH¡V &KDUOHV DQG 6W 0DU\¡V She also serves as the Chair and President of the Protestant Episcopal Cathedral Foundation. A passionate believer in the mission and ministry of the Episcopal Church, Bishop Budde is committed to the revitalization and growth of congregations and core ministries of the diocese, building their FDSDFLW\ WR VHUYH &KULVW¡V UHFRQFLOLQJ mission in the world. Bishop Budde was consecrated as the ninth bishop of Washington in November 2011. Prior to her election, she served for 18 years as UHFWRU RI 6W -RKQ¡V (SLVFRSDO &KXUFK LQ Minneapolis. Her sermons have been published in several publications and she is the author of Gathering the Fragments: Preaching as Spiritual Practice, published in 2007.

Amy Butler

has served as Senior Pastor at Calvary Baptist Church since 2003. She holds degrees from Baylor University (B.A. Âś 0.A. Âś 7KH International Baptist Theological Seminary (B. Div. Âś DQG :HVOH\ 7KHRORJLFDO 6HPLQDU\ ' 0LQ Âś %HIRUH FRPLQJ WR Calvary, Butler worked with the homeless community in New Orleans and served as Associate Pastor at St. Charles Avenue Baptist Church in New Orleans. She often comments on faith and life in general on her blog, Talk With the Preacher, at talkwiththepreacher.org. You can also read her columns every two weeks on the Associated Baptist Press.
