Come together, believers and doubters, faithful and unsure, join your hearts now in worship! Praise God, who calls our names and fills us with fire. Praise God, who out of love for all humanity sent Jesus Christ to live among us. Praise God, whose Spirit is poured out upon all flesh so that our sons and daughters might prophesy. Praise God, whose message of hope is not hindered by the barriers of this world. Praise God, who empowers us with gifts and challenges us to tell the truth to a hurting world. WORSHIP THE COST: WHAT IT TAKES TO TELL THE TRUTH. Today is the final Sunday of our sermon series introducing us to Jeremiah, the Weeping Prophet. Jeremiah paid a steep price to be a prophet. Following Jesus often calls us to tell the truth, to be prophetic in a world where our message often challenges the status quo. Will we have the courage to pay the price? TODAY HAPPY ANNIVERSARY, PASTOR AMY. Today we celebrate Pastor Amy and her ten years of leadership as Senior Pastor at Calvary. Join us for a special recognition after worship, before the Shalom Lunch. Congratulations, Pastor Amy, and many thanks for your leadership and service! SHALOM SCHOLARSHIP LUNCHEON. The Christian Education and Mission Boards host this annual event following worship in Woodward Hall. All are invited to attend; suggested donation $10 per person (cash, checks, and credit/debit cards accepted). Contributions support students in El Salvador. To date we have raised $3,346 toward our $10,000 goal. Give generously to send ten students to college; visit www.calvarydc.org/give to donate online. Contact Courtney Rice, courtney.rice@gmail.com. SHALOM SCHOLARSHIP LUNCH COOKING TEAM. Calvary is blessed to count cooks, bakers, and chefs as members of our community of faith. Many thanks to Chef and Saucier Roberto Reyes and his team of excellent cooks for volunteering to prepare today’s lunch. MUSIC FOR KIDS meets in Music Suite right after worship.
