RESOLVED TO TO GOD

This week’s study reminds us of God’s awesome power and sovereignty. Like the chapters before it, Daniel 6 recounts a vivid story of faith and courage in a pagan culture. The aged Daniel, probably in his 80s, stood for what he believed, despite the consequences. And God miraculously delivered him! (Engaging God’s Word, page 69)

DAY 1 Daniel’s Challenge

Read Daniel 6:1-9

Before reading Daniel 6, take a moment to still your heart before the Lord and ask Him to open your eyes that you may see wonderful things in His Word!

(Psalm 119:18)

1. From these first nine verses, what do you observe about Daniel’s position and character?

2. What do you observe about the satraps and administrators.? Why were they scheming against Daniel?

3. They could find no grounds for accusing Daniel because he was faithful (NASB) or trustworthy (NIV). How would you define faithful and trustworthy? What are the characteristics and behaviors that flow out of someone who is faithful and trustworthy?
