Spotlight Event KIWIN’S Banquet
We had our yearly banquet to celebrate a great year of service and achievements. Their was so much great food and so many funny awards to laugh at! We also shared a few more memories with the seniors before they leave. They received there sashes, awards and gifts. Ashley got her own scrapbook too! Congratulations to Matthew Taishima for Member of the Year and Noah Basit and Allie Chang for Officers of the Year!

Events in Review Ribfest On May 6th Hacienda Heights Kiwanis hosted their 17th annual Ribfest! This event was a collaboration event with both D35W Key Club and our Goldstone Division. There was auctions of all sorts of things like gift cards to jewelry not only that Miss Fourth of July was crowned! We helped prep the tables and the auction as well as serving food and drinks to the guests.
Mr.Bashir’s Birthday On May 10th Los Altos KIWIN’S and Glen A. Wilson KIWIN’S attended the Kiwanis meeting at Marie Calendars. To celebrate Mr.Bashir’s birthday. We had cake, gave presents, and to spend time with our favorite. advisor.

Upcoming Events Tae Kwon Do Tournament Volunteers will be performing a variety of tasks. These tasks range from Hospitality Manager to Ring Technician. You will need a medical release form.

Member of the Month Ashley Kim What encourages you to go to events? What motivates me is the idea of being able to serve the community. I love the fact that I can give back to the community.
Why are you so dedicated to this organization? The reason why I was so dedicated in KIWIN'S was because of the warm feeling the organization gave me. I feel like at first you can get weirded out by the spirit but once you get the hang of it you can really see why everyone falls in love with KIWIN'S.

Officer of the Month Kristin Sung Why did you join KIWIN’S? I wanted to join a club that does service for the community, but I wanted to do different types of services. I thought through a club like KIWIN’S, I'd be able to experience these events and their outcomes.
What encouraged you to run for your current position? Well after being on appointed board, I got to see how the executive board was ran and through this I was able to learn a lot. I specifically chose treasurer, because after watching our previous treasurer Victoria last term, I felt like out of all the positions that one appealed to me the most.
