SPOTLIGHT EVENTS
Ice Skating Fundraiser
On July 22nd our club held an ice skating fundraiseer at The Rink from 7-9pm. Though we only had roughly about 7 people attend it was still alot of fun to see people ice skating and seeing club members having a good time. While we had our fundraiser there was a small festival just right across the street from .

EVENTS IN REVIEW 7/1 Jim Davis Beautification On July 1st we cleaned S Stimson Ave. in preparation for The “I Love America” parade.
7/4 “I Love America” Fourth of July parade This event was from 7am-1pm members where told to decorate the Kiwanis float or manage the parade itself.
7/16/17 Feed the Homeless At this event we helped prep the pantry for the homeless to take and serve them dinner from 3-6.
7/22 Pancake Breakfast On July 22nd we had a pancake breakfast at puente hills applebees from 7:30-10am.
7/24-7/27 Walnut United Methodist Church VBS
This was a 3 day event that we did from 5-8pm where we lead groups of kids as they participate in Vacation Bible School. You will not be leading the activities simply taking care of the kids and helping out where necessary.
7/20 Stuff-A-Bus This was a all day event from 8-8pm where we were
outside Walmart collecting school supply’s as donations.

Come one, Come all for an awesome beach trip with11-4pm Crystal, Diamond, Goldstone, Jet, and Turquoise Bus Pickup 8 am divisions. Join us for a day of Santa Monica Beach fun including beach clean up.
Officer Training Conference
8/13
Come join Goldstone KIWIN’S in our annual officer’s training conference where members are able to attend workshops while educating members on the topics such as the history of KIWIN’S and what we’re all about. Business Casual attire

MEMBER OF THE MONTH
Amy Wang What inspired you to join KIWIN’S? The spirit Kiwinners have and the events. I like how it shows how nice the members are and their dedication. But what lead to my final decision was my friend Lei inspired me to join KIWINS because she seemed happy and outgoing whenever she did events and would persuade me to do them.
What did you do this summer? I attended the 4th of July parade and Aruba with my family for a vacation!! In Aruba I went swimming and snorkeling at the beach.
What is your favorite event and why? It’s probably going to be the rose float decorating in December because I liked being a part of making floats and seeing them on T.V a few days later.

OFFICER OF THE MONTH
Megan Lien What inspired you to join KIWIN’S ? I wanted to join because I wanted to help my community and get closer to it. I enjoy helping others and honestly I also wanted to join because i noticed we got to ditch class to go to dcon kiwins also seemed like something that would get me out of my shell.
What did you do this summer?
I spent most of my summer going to water polo practice, going to summer school and learning to drive. I also spent some time on trying to fill out college apps (which i should’ve finished a while ago).
What is your favrite event and why?
Ribfest is my favorite service event! There was a lot to do and I had a lot of fun running around and prepping food and interacting with people from different clubs. This was also one of the biggest events i’ve been to and everyone there was really cool and interesting. Also the food was super great!! I’d do that event again in a heartbeat.
