Introduction • In this book you will learn abut the leatherback sea turtle. Its characteristics habitat and its diet.


Characteristics The leatherback sea turtle hatchlings are predominantly black with white flipper margins and keels on the carapace.


Habitat • The leatherback sea turtle lives in two ocean the Mexico and pacific.


Diet • Jellyfish are the main staple of its diet but it is also know to feed on sea urchins squid crustaceans tunicates fish blue-green algae and floating sea weed.


Predator • The leatherback sea turtles predator is lots of tips of shark and pelicans.


Self Defense • The leatherback sea turtle defends its self by swimming fast.


Growth and Development • At night the leatherback sea turtle goes to the beach and makes a hole in the sand then lays eggs in the hole 10 week later the baby sea turtle come out of the eggs and the hole.
