Characteristics The bull shark looks like a bulldog because the face is pushed in and they have small eyes. The skin is gray and white. It is 11.5 feet in length. They live for 11 to 16 years. One fin is bigger than the other.
Habitat The bull shark lives in shallow water less than 100 feet deep. It goes into shallow water river mouths.
Diet The bull sharks is a carnivore. It eats fish, dolphin, other sharks, mullet, tarpon, and catfish. Bull sharks can learn and remember where to find food. Bull sharks use their senses to get food. They kill food before eating it.
Behavior
Bull sharks get mean when they are feeding. Bull sharks attack people.
Defense The skin of the bull shark looks smooth and slippery one way, but is sharp and will make you bleed when you rub it. The bull shark will attack when someone bothers it.
Life Cycle Bull sharks mate in the summer months. Babies are born in late spring and summer. Bull sharks give birth in shallow water to between 1 and 13 pups at a time. Bull sharks are the only sharks that have babies in fresh water.
