Ringway has been supporting my development since my first year of study at the University of Surrey. I was accepted onto the UniS/ICE Scholarship during my first year and matched with Ringway soon after. Ringway gave me valuable experience throughout my degree with flexible summer and a year long placement. I was able to choose the type of work which suited me most, with guidance from my Mentor and the Graduate Programme Manager to ensure that it would be worthwhile. When I graduated in June 2007 I had no hesitation in accepting permanent employment with Ringway. I was certain that they will build on my previous knowledge and support me in my professional development towards Chartership with the ICE. Now that I am here, I feel that I have not been disappointed.

I have also looked with interest at your Graduate Training Scheme, based on my former career where I was a SCE (Supervising Civil Engineer) and as an ICE Lead Reviewer. I have to say that in terms of content, structure and management it is very impressive. As you know Reviewers are required to take an holistic view of candidates and from my reading of your scheme I have little doubt that a graduate who has passed through it would be very well placed indeed to pass the Review. - Graham Goodall M.Sc., LL.B(Hons)., C.dip.A.F., C.Eng., F.I.C.E. (formerly Training Manager at Nottingham Trent University)

During a relatively short time with Ringway I have had a considerable amount of training, both on and off the job, as well as a broad spectrum of experience and a high degree of responsibility; all of which stood me in good stead in achieving my goal of becoming a Chartered Engineer.

I have been impressed with the training our placement students received during their year with you….. I appreciated the way that all the students were given wide ranging duties in a supportive environment, but still in a manner which provided challenge and responsibility.

I joined Ringway in January 2002, attracted by the Group's training scheme together with its breadth of expertise in new materials. The best part of the job is the variety, from the procurement strategy to the molecular level. Everything I've done up to now is new. I wake up and know that today I'll learn something new. My aim now is to become a chartered engineer. I'd like to make it to the top and the training that I am receiving from Ringway should help me get there.

Graduate case studies David joined Ringway in July 2003, for a one-year industrial placement as part of his civil engineering degree at Nottingham Trent University. He worked in our Construction Division as a Site Engineer and after his successful placement year, we sponsored him for his final year at university. Upon rejoining Ringway, he was enrolled on our 4-year Graduate Development Programme where he gained operational experience within Wiltshire and Bracknell Forest before transferring into our Commercial Department.
