Your generosity s our students to nourish their mind, body, and spirit in service to the Gospel of Jesus Christ. We have no doubt that our udents will soon become the leaders of a better tomorrow!
ntly face a great paradox regarding access to Catholic education. All relevant data analysis shows that the Catholic school e is real. Students who are educated in Catholic schools demonstrate superior levels of academic achievement, civic ent, and wage earnings when compared to their peers who are educated in other schools. The advantages of a Catholic ucation are even more pronounced for students from under-resourced communities. Catholic schools have been shown to the ever persistent achievement gap. At no time in the history of our country has access to faith based education been more as a driver of equity and economic growth. Despite the incredible outcomes and obvious need for access to Catholic , Catholic education is becoming more inaccessible each year for middle-class families. For decades wage growth for middle orkers has lagged behind the rate of inflation. Despite our highly efficient model, we are not immune to inflation and our ducate rise each year.
ounding more than a century ago, Camden Catholic High School has prided itself on providing a world class college ry education that is accessible to all students who are willing and able to commit to the rigors of Catholic education, s of their family income. We have developed our sponsor-a-scholar program to ensure we will continue to live our mission de the accessible first-rate Catholic education students so desperately need for centuries to come.
r help we can work together to form a trinity of financial support that brings together the family, the school, and the a-scholar donor to provide students the opportunity to cultivate their God ential and strive toward their dreams.
ls of our sponsor-a-scholar program are outlined in the following pages. Please note that our sponsor-a-scholar program customizable to the affinity of the donor and can be adapted to support students who demonstrate talent in academics, eadership, or any other quality the donor would like to promote!
u for your kind consideration. Please do not hesitate to contact me if you’d like to learn more about becoming a sponsor-aonor!

Tuition Assistance Model
The Tripartite Model
The Sponsor-A-Scholar tripartite donor model seeks to provide full tuition for a qualified scholar with financial need by leveraging a Donor’s contribution, a family’s financial resources, and Camden Catholic’s general Tuition Assistance donations.
A student must qualify for Tuition Assistance to be eligible for the SponsorA-Scholar program. Further qualifications can be determined by the donor. CCHS will match up to 33% of a donor’s commitment toward funding a student who qualifies for Tuition Assistance if the student’s calculated need is not met by the donor’s commitment.

Example: Memorial Scholars
Jane Martin McConnell is interested in funding Tuition Assistance at Camden Catholic and would like to do so in recognition of her late grandfather, Aloysious Martin. Jane thinks she can eventually afford to sponsor a $3,000 award to one scholar at each grade level but would like to start with just one incoming 9th grader. Jane makes a restricted donation of $3,000 to the Aloysious Martin Scholars program.
Camden Catholic works with Jane to determine additional criteria for her scholar. Based on that selected criteria (in addition to qualifying for tuition assistance) the Camden Catholic Office of Enrollment Management presents a candidate for Jane’s consideration. Jane accepts the candidate. The scholar qualifies for additional tuition assistance so Camden Catholic matches 33% of Jane’s $3,000 commitment and contributes $1,000 towards the scholar’s need. This makes for a total award of $4,000 to the first Aloysious Martin Scholar. The family will be required to pay the remaining $8,000 on the tuition account, or about $670/month.

Example: Dougherty Leadership Scholars
In the third year, the selected applicant also qualifies for tuition assistance. Camden Catholic matches 33% of Mr. Dougherty’s $5,000 award and provides $1,650 in additional tuition assistance for a total award to that student of $6,650. $5,000
Patrick Dougherty wants to donate $20,000 annually to fund four scholars ($5,000 for one scholar at each grade level) who demonstrate leadership in extracurricular activities, church involvement, and service to the community. Patrick Dougherty works with the Camden Catholic Office of Enrollment Management to determine qualifications, criteria, and application requirements for the Dougherty Leadership Scholars Program. Over the course of four years, CCHS submits 9th grade applicant materials to Mr. Dougherty for his consideration. Mr. Dougherty selects one student per year.
Example: Broadway Scholars
Nate Laneman is interested in supporting performing arts scholars at CCHS and would like to name the program the Broadway Scholars. Mr. Laneman wants to donate $40,000 annually to fund 8 scholars (two scholars at each grade level totaling $5,000/year, or 42.5% of tuition per student). Mr. Laneman works with Camden Catholic’s Enrollment Management office to identify audition dates, adjudicative guidelines, and application criteria. CCHS provides a number of applications for Mr. Laneman’s review. Mr. Laneman invites a number of candidates to audition, after which he selects the winning Broadway Scholars.
