GUESTS WELCOME TO WALK AROUND

MEMORIAL

Camden County understands that the adornments you place at your loved one’s paver is there to help you honor and remember them. To maintain the integrity of the area, we need to clean the site and remove objects and soiled flowers on a rotating basis. This is in no way being done out of disrespect to you or your loved one. While we sympathize, and understand wanting to place something at their paver for remembrance, we ask that you do not adhere anything with tape or burn wax candles, they are damaging the finish of the pavers and the Overdose Ribbon.

ZAC CLARK

Zac Clark is a mental health, wellness, and addiction recovery advocate, motivational speaker, philanthropist, and business executive who founded and serves as CEO of Release Recovery: a full- service substance use disorder and mental health organization – with multiple facilities throughout New York – that offers transitional living, interventions, case management, and other essential family and recovery support services.

Zac is also the founding board member of Release Recovery Foundation, a nonprofit whose mission is to remove financial barriers to treatment for those who can’t afford it – specifically those in underserved communities through DEI, LGBTQIA+, and women’s scholarships. The foundation also works to build community to break the stigma around addiction and mental health.

Zac also serves on the board of trustees of Caron Treatment Centers, an internationally renowned organization dedicated to addiction and behavioral healthcare and treatment – and where Zac began his own recovery journey 12 years ago.

In 2020, Zac came to widespread acclaim by openly addressing his addiction and recovery on ABC’s “The Bachelorette.” He uses his large platform to spread hope and raise awareness – especially among young people – about the crucial mental health and addiction issues that plague our country today.

Zac has partnered with global brands, including Reebok, Rhone, and Poland Spring. He grew up in Haddonfield, NJ, is a die-hard Philadelphia sports fan and sneakerhead, played college baseball, and has seen his favorite band Pearl Jam play more than 30 times. He’s finished 12 marathons, as well as completed the coveted Goggins Challenge – raising nearly two million dollars in the process on behalf of Release Recovery Foundation and Caron Foundation. He lives in New York City.

The Camden County Addiction Awareness Taskforce was created in 2014 to address the devastating impact of substance use disorder on families throughout Camden County. Working closely with municipalities, health care institutions, social service organizations, law enforcement, prosecutors, Camden County Jail and other community stakeholders, the taskforce provides programs to increase awareness, prevent, and treat addiction. Through the passionate work of hundreds of committed individuals, the many programs created have helped countless individuals and families. There is no let up of the work we are doing for the community.

Recent highlights include:

• An award winning Fentanyl Awareness Campaign

• Expanded Certified Peers in the Shelters Program to all 5 shelters.

• NaloxBoxes in nearly every school

• Recovery Center in Camden City, grief support

• Street Outreach program

• By this fall, we will have an Opioid Prevention Outreach Van

• Anti-Stigma Campaign

• School buses outfitted with Narcan.

• County branded emergency opioid overdose response video.

We trained over 600 community members including teachers, school personnel and others to respond to overdose emergencies. We distributed over 45,000 pieces of educational literature throughout the county, held community awareness and educational events with over 12,000 attendees, and worked with local municipalities and law enforcement to expand access to medication drop boxes and implemented Project S.A.V.E. (Substance Abuse Visionary Effort). REAL Sports continues to grow, this year we added BOCCI Ball.

We are continuing to work with our partners to find innovated ways to reduce overdose fatalities, increase ‘harm reduction’ and link residents in need to available programming.

Help is available: please call our 24/7 toll-free confidential hotline at (877) 2668222. For additional information and services, contact the Camden County Office of Mental Health and Addiction at (856) 374-6361 or visit www.camdencounty.com.
