The 2024 Park Events Guide is the best way you can remain in the loop on all the amazing fun and entertainment Camden County has to offer this season. Celebrate Independence Day at Freedom Festival featuring the chart-topping alternative band, Gin Blossoms at the Camden Waterfront or catch Los Lonely Boys at the Haddon Lake Park this summer. In our more than 2,500 acres of award-winning parkland and green spaces there is something to do for everyone in our community. And in order to maintain quality outdoor spaces to host our extensive roster of events, the Board of Commissioners has been continuing its $100 million plan to revitalize the county’s 24 parks, conservation areas and waterways.

The Parks Alive 2025 initiative was first launched in 2022 with the purpose of bringing new life into our parks and improving the quality of life for Camden County residents.

Over the last two years, several projects under the Parks Alive 2025 umbrella have broken ground and have been completed. Starting in July 2022, with the unveiling of the new and improved Jack Curtis Stadium in Cooper River Park. The $1.2 million makeover of the stadium included a complete transformation.

In 2023, the county also received state and federal funds for several projects. In July 2023, Assembly Majority Leader Louis Greenwald presented the Parks Department with a check for $87,000 to go towards the construction of a skate park in Cooper River Park. That same month, the county received $19 million from the US Department of Transportation’s Rebuilding American Infrastructure with Sustainability & Equity Grants program for the Camden County LINK Trail. When completed, the Camden County LINK Trail will travel through 17 Camden County communities, from the Ben Franklin Bridge in Camden to the Pinelands National Reserve in Winslow Township.

Most recently, the Board of Commissioners opened the brand new dog park at Cooper River Park. This highly anticipated project was price tagged at $775,000 and work included the construction of a new dog park complete with separate fenced areas for small dogs, large dogs, and agility equipment and a pavilion, benches, and picnic tables for spectator viewing among other improvements.

Parks Alive 2025 is far from over and every green space and park in Camden County is expected to benefit from this project. And thanks to this ongoing initiative, our residents can better enjoy the upcoming season of concerts, programs and events that are staged in our parks.

The Board of Commissioners is proud to present another incredible season of activities for our residents and we look forward to the continued improvement of the Camden County Parks System.
