At our January Board meeting, we recognized Crooked River Elementary School principal, Dr. Mark Lang and Matilda Harris Elementary School gifted teacher, Ms Natalie Slice on their achievement as being voted Principal of the Year and Teacher of the Year by the Tribune & Georgian!
We also welcomed students from Mamie Lou Gross Elementary School who presented the Character Education Word of the Month, which is KNOWLEDGE!

WOODBINE STUDENTS ENJOY NEW PLAYGROUND
Students at Woodbine Elementary School are thrilled to have a new, beautiful playground! After lots of fundraising, donations from Georgia Power, and a little help from Superintendent Dr Tucker, they will be able to enjoy this playground for many years to come!

CCS DISTRICT SPELLING BEE
CONGRATS!
On Thursday, January 19, the 2022-2023 Camden County School District Spelling Bee was held where 11 students from our elementary and middle schools competed for the title of Spelling Bee Champion. After a close competition, Miss Janay Dumornay of Camden Middle School took home the championship title! Mr Jack Coley from St Marys Elementary School is our Runner-Up!
Janay will move on to represent Camden County Schools in the Regional Spelling Bee Should she not be able to make it to Regionals, Jack will move on to represent the district.
Congratulations to all of the district spellers as they did a wonderful job!

Students at Crooked River Elementary School who reached their Quarter 2 reading goals were rewarded with an invitation to an AR Bouncy House party! Students had a blast enjoying the beautiful weather while running through the obstacle course bouncy house, playing extra-large Jenga, playing the cup stacking game, and competing in cornhole games.

Camden County Schools Teachers Help Shape Future of Instruction
On January 26, several teacher leaders met to learn, share, and connect about new math standards which go into effect next school year. Led by Teaching and Learning Specialists and Instructional Specialists, they took a closer look at the new math standards. Teams of teacher leaders will gather throughout the second semester in Math, English Language Arts, and Camden County School’s Dyslexia Initiative The future in Camden is Bright when teachers come together to collaborate, lead, and support each other
