About Artistic Research

Camila Caiza Duque MFA in Scenography 2015 - 2016 THE REFLECTION AS THE CORE OF THE ARTISTIC PROCESS I consider that the artistic research must be attached to a reflection, which can be formulated in the shape of a question or a group of questions. From the basis of that question (that has a background reflection) an interdisciplinary investigation should be done in order to clarify the initial reflection; however, this investigation can lead to more and more questions that not always need an answer, but they might produce a different reflection. During this process the reflection can be materialized somehow, but what I consider the core of the artistic process is the reflection itself, not the object or the concrete actions. Then, the artistic research would start from a reflection or a question that is being processed through theoretical and experimental filters that can lead either to answer, prove and support the initial question or can generate a different one.
