Thank You It’s been an honor to serve as the 2016 Chair of An Artists’ Christmas. Thanks to an incredible committee, dedicated staff and the support of friends and family for making this a truly unforgettable experience. I could not be more proud to represent an organization that does so much good for the children of our community. As a mother with two daughters who have participated in Camp Fire after school programs, I know firsthand the positive impact of this organization. Children who suffer the unimaginable loss of a loved one find comfort through Camp Fire El Tesoro de la Vida grief camp, children who may otherwise fall behind academically are given a chance to succeed equally through Camp Fire’s early education and after school programs, and children who have never experienced the beauty of a star-filled sky can imagine the world like never before through Camp Fire’s outdoor education programs. This is Camp Fire and this is why there’s a special place in my heart for this incredible organization. To the artists, sponsors, donors and guests who made this evening possible, I sincerely thank you for your support. Camp Fire relies on your generosity to provide life changing programs to children throughout our community and beyond. I hope you enjoy the event and thank you for being part of An Artists’ Christmas! Sincerely, Randi Mitchell Event Chair

2016 Art Judges Mary E. Burke is Director of the Sid Richardson Museum in Fort Worth, Texas. Since beginning with the museum in 1996, Mrs. Burke has led the Museum’s planning, development and implementation of an array of program offerings. The Museum’s mission is to educate, engage and inspire its visitors to find meaning, value and enjoyment in exploring its collection of paintings of the late 19th and early 20th century American West. She is the recipient of several prestigious awards including Museum Educator of the Year by both the Texas Association of Museums’ Educators Committee and the Texas Art Education Association. Mrs. Burke earned her Master of Arts in art education with museum education certification in 1996 from the University of North Texas. She holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts in all-level art education from Texas Christian University.
David Dike, a native of Fort Worth and a graduate of Texas Christian University, has made it his mission to spread the enthusiasm of Texas art. David prides himself on bringing quality art to corporate clients and collectors alike. His goal is to better educate the general public on the importance of Texas and American art. David Dike Fine Art was established in 1986 in the Arts District of Uptown Dallas where it resides today. The gallery specializes in late 19th and 20th century American and European paintings with an emphasis on the Texas Regionalists and Texas Landscape painters. The gallery provides a compilation of traditional and distinctive works for both the new and mature collector. Mr. Dike is a member of the Fine Art Dealers Association (FADA) and the Dallas Art Dealers Association (DADA) and has contributed to various books on Texas art. He is highly regarded nationally and is recognized as an authority on Texas art.
Ann Hardy is a local artist who resides in Colleyville, Texas. Ann also spends a large amount of time in the Polson, Montana area where she finds great inspiration for her artwork. Her philosophy is to keep moving, but not in the direction that fear makes you move. For Ms. Hardy, the joy of painting is in the process and journey of creating art, and not the destination. Growth in life and art is the most exciting thing she can think of. You must be willing to risk and be at home in your own skin. For her it’s fun to be eccentric. She plays that to the hilt by painting in a 12-by-12-foot tree house. Ms. Hardy enjoys living life to the fullest by traveling, backpacking and painting. She has received dozens of awards for her work, has contributed to numerous publications and is a member of the following organizations: Oil Painters of America, National Oil and Acrylic Painters Society, Outdoor Painters Society Master, Texas and Neighbors, Accredited Creative Artists, Southwestern Watercolor Society and American Impressionist.
