EVENING SCHEDULE 6:00 | Art viewing, libations and silent auction 7:00 | Seated dinner, live auction and entertainment

by the David Whiteman Band

9:30 | Silent auction closes

Tonight is a night to celebrate! We celebrate 30 years of An Artists’ Christmas. We celebrate 100 years of Camp Fire First Texas in our communities and the life-changing results we are all a part of. Camp Fire enriches the lives of children, teens and adults every year through your generous support at events like An Artists’ Christmas. You are the reason we are able to continue making an impact in the lives of so many, while improving the face of our community through school readiness, outdoor, after school and school completion programs. Since 1985 this event has provided more than $3.2 million to support Camp Fire programs. We couldn’t have done it without you.

Annual Impact

100% of active participants in the Step Up school completion program graduate.

1,429 children were able to experience the outdoors through programs at Camp El Tesoro.

1,400 preschoolers benefited from the Camp Fire school readiness program. These students outperform their peers upon entering kindergarten.

Empower a child. Shape the world. It starts with YOU!

Thank You to Our Volunteers On behalf of Camp Fire First Texas, we would like to thank the 2014 An Artists’ Christmas committee for their hard work in planning this year’s event.

We also extend a very special thank you to Shirley and John Dean, Carol and James Dunaway, and Ladye Ann and Jack Miller for hosting the reception honoring 30 years of Event Chairs.

As chairs, Drenda and John Witt have provided unparalleled leadership during this milestone year. We were honored to have them serve in this capacity and thank them for their ongoing commitment to Camp Fire. We are grateful to the entire committee for the hours and months they’ve dedicated to ensuring the success of this very important evening. We hold deep respect and appreciation for the time they have contributed and the awareness they have created for Camp Fire, which makes a difference for youth in North Texas.

Congratulations to all on a successful event!

Bruce Greene Bruce and his family live on a small ranch in the historical community of Norse, near Clifton, Texas. The artist’s studio is on the edge of the hill out behind the house. From there, large north windows offer Bruce a continuous view of the Texas Hill Country, a few Coriente cows and an abundance of whitetail deer. “It is a wonderful blessing to be able to make a living for my family, doing what I love in this beautiful place,” says Greene. Several years ago, Bruce began making annual trips to join in the spring work on the great, old JA Ranch in the Palo Duro Canyon of north Texas. “I go up there and stay on the chuck wagon with the JA hands and the neighbors that have come to help. We ride a lot of miles in rough country. It can be cold, hot, windy and wet. As a matter of fact, it can be all of these in one day. A fella’ could get lost in some of the mesquite or cedar thickets. “Of course, we work a few cows on our place and help out a neighbor now and then, but the JA trip has been a real inspiration for me each year. I am absolutely sure that this experience has greatly affected my artwork. It seems

necessary, to me, in order to depict the contemporary cowboy with accuracy and feeling. My good friend, Red Steagall, calls it ‘getting the dust in your nose.’ For me, that dust makes the difference.” Greene was elected to membership in the Cowboy Artists of America in 1993. He has served terms as Director, 1997 & 1998; Vice President, 2000; President, 2001; Past-President, 2002; Vice-President, 2011 & 2012; and President, 2013. He has also served the Joe Beeler Foundation as a Director, 2010 & 2011; and President, 2012. The artist is represented by galleries in Colorado and Texas. His work is represented in annual shows and exhibitions including the Cowboy Artists of America Exhibition and the Prix de West Invitational at the National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
