member of the Alpha Sigma
I love each part with so much passion. Editing the articles (I’m a grammar Nazi tbh), picking the best photos to go along with each story, and designing it all together: it’s my happy place. I get lost in it for hours at a time.

Jonas Bros for life. Nick was on the cover of all of my 4th grade binders. Mountains or beach? Mountains! I grew up 20 minutes from the beach, so I’ve had enough sand in my nooks and crannies for 100 lifetimes. Audiobooks or Podcasts? Podcasts. I’ve always loved radio talk shows. When I drive back and forth to Georgia, it’s 16 hours minimum, and audiobooks get boring after a while. Podcasts keep it interesting, especially the ones about murder. What’s the best advice you’ve ever received? Tell people no. I will do almost anything someone asks of me even if I don’t want to or I already have too much on my plate. It’s so hard for me, but it’s great advice. By Zoe Cardenas

On Track kye Summers is a sophomore, and runs track for the reestablished track and field program at Southeastern. She has been running track since the 7th grade. Skye’s favorite thing about being on the track team is traveling, “Our coach always takes us to local restaurants, and we get new experiences every time.” Being a college athlete keeps you busy! Skye gave us her rundown of a typical day. “I get up at 7:00, and have class until around 12:00. I do homework or volunteer from 12:00 to 3:00, and then practice starts at 3:00 and goes until 5:00. After that I take an ice bath and do homework until it’s time for bed.” Skye is grateful to contribute to the Southeastern track team. “Opportunity, is the first word that comes to mind. Whatever events you want to try, the coaches are supportive and provide you with as many opportunities to succeed as possible.” Skye’s ultimate goal is to qualify for the fastest heat in conference.

Track is not for the faint of heart. For anyone interested in joining the team, Skye said, “Be ready to work. You don’t have to be the best, but you have to be ready to give 120% every day.” Photo Courtesy of Skye Summers

ON TUESDAYS WE EAT TACOS By Ashlee Carr
We visited the Street Taco truck in the Denison Food Truck Park. The location features several trucks that offer a variety of tasty options. The small park has a setup for live music and a laidback atmosphere. On Tuesdays, tacos are only one dollar! We recommend the fajita beef with the green chili sauce.
“The corn tortilla is a nice balance to the spicy green chili sauce.” “If you wanna have a good time, add a little lime.” “This sauce is with it.”

How do you want to be remembered by Southeastern? I want to be known as a hard worker. I work hard to do well and succeed. I want to be known as a good friend and someone who leaves a positive impression on people. What have you learned about yourself during college? I learned to love myself. My self-esteem would get low because I struggled communicating with people here. There was a huge language barrier. It was not easy to learn English. Now that I have, I feel more confident in my abilities to do other things. What has been your favorite thing about working for The Campus Note? Through writing, I became confident in expressing my personality. I was able to see you guys voice your opinions to improve the end result. I learned a lot of things about communicating that I want to implement in my business career.

he Great Plains 15th Annual juried Art Show was open from March 5 to April 11. The award presentation and closing reception was April 11, and the winner of the two-dimensional art category was Sharon Burris with her composite photo of a flower on metal. The art show started as a regional show for artists from Oklahoma and the surrounding areas and was named the “Great Plains Art Show. Southeastern art professor, Jack Ousey, wishes viewers would understand that a single juror judges the art show each year. This year, Shelly Tate Garner was the juror. She holds a BA in studio art, MA in museum studies, and is currently completing an MFA in graphic design. Southeastern Oklahoma State University and Red River Arts Council sponsored this art exhibition. Anyone can enter by filling out the entry form and sending their pieces to the Centre Art Gallery at Southeastern. Watch for the entry forms in the spring of 2020. By Jihyun Park
