Need help emailing a professor? Sometimes emailing professors can be intimidating; we’ve come up with six tips to help you write the perfect email to your professor, no matter the occasion!
#1) Make sure you use professional language. Emailing your professor is not like texting your best friend. Do not use emojis, or SMS language. #2) Some professors may outline how they want you to address them in certain situations. Make sure to double check the syllabus to double check how to spell/write your professors name. #3) Going along with tip #2, make sure you always include the class and time that you see your professor. #4) Don’t exaggerate or make excuses for anything that you email your professor about. If you make too many excuses, or exaggerate your issue, they will be less likely to take you seriously. #5) Keep your email short and to the point. Just tell them what you need, and why you need it, without telling them too much! #6) Always double check that you are sending your email from your student email, NOT your personal email. Not only is this for confidentiality purposes, but also so that the professor will have an easier time identifying you as a student. Article by: Hannah Garrett

Pumpkin Roll INGREDIENTS: Pumpkin cake ingredients: 3/4 cup all-purpose flour 1/2 teaspoon baking powder 1/2 teaspoon baking soda 2 teaspoons pumpkin pie spice 1/4 teaspoon salt 3 large eggs 1 teaspoon vanilla extract 1 cup granulated sugar 2/3 cup pumpkin puree
Cream cheese filling ingredients: 1 brick cream cheese, room temperature 1 cup powdered sugar, sifted 6 tablespoons butter, softened 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
INSTRUCTIONS 1. Preheat oven to 375F. Line a 15 x10-inch jelly roll pan with parchment paper leaving an extra 1-inch of parchment sticking up on both 15-inch sides of the pan so that you can easily lift the cake out after baking. 2. Whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, pumpkin pie spice and salt in a large mixing bowl until combined. 3. In a separate bowl, whisk eggs and granulated sugar for 1 minute until thick. Add in the vanilla and pumpkin, and whisk until just combined. Fold in the flour mixture with a rubber spatula, and stir together until just combined.
Recipe Continued 4. Spread the batter evenly into prepared pan. Bake for 13 to 15 minutes, or until top of cake springs back when touched. Carefully lift the parchment paper and cake out onto a flat (and heat-safe) surface. Then slowly, use your hands to roll the cake — rolling from the short end to the short end — until it is completely rolled up. Transfer cake roll to a wire rack, and cool until it reaches room temperature. 5.While the cake is cooling, make the cream cheese filling.(Read Below) 6. Once the cake has reached room temperature, transfer the cake roll to a flat surface, and carefully it until it is flat again. Spread the cream cheese mixture evenly over cake, leaving a 3/4-inch border on all sides. Then carefully re-roll the cake, gently peeling away the parchment paper as you roll until you can completely remove and discard it. Tightly wrap the pumpkin roll in plastic wrap and refrigerate at least one hour. 7. Remove and unwrap the pumpkin roll and transfer it to your serving dish. Lightly dust the pumpkin roll on all sides with powdered sugar, if you would like. Then slice* and serve.
Making cream cheese filling: 1. Whisk together cream cheese, powdered sugar, butter and vanilla extract in a mixing bowl until smooth. If the filling is too thin, add more powdered sugar. If it is too thick, add a half teaspoon or two of water.

ENERGIZE YOURSELF Article By: Thaddeus Osborne It’s that spooky time of year again...midterm season. Many of us have already passed our various halfway points in the semester, including myself. However, while studying for my exams I was searching for an extra pick-me-up to keep me alert and focused, and decided to sample every energy drink available on campus throughout the week. Here’s what I found out.
Tangy, with a touch of sweetness. Lemon HDZ reminds me of lemon PEZ, mixed
with some skittles thrown in for good
for a measure. 300 mg of caffeine makes
powerful and effective kick.
4.5/5
Monster: Original
Reign: Lemon HDZ
SALTY. Did anyone actually like this flavor when it came out? 140 mg of caffeine makes for a smooth ride until the sugar crash comes, but it isn't the tastiest. 2/5
Still salty, but without the sugar crash from the original. More palatble, with a thinner mouthfeel. 3.5/5
Reign: Razzle Berry
Monster: Zero Sugar
Best energy drink beverage on campus, hands down. 300 mg of caffeine, and tastes like blue cotton candy mixed with blue sour patch kids. 5/5
Espresso + Cream
Not quite an energy drink, but it's in a can and it has caffeine. Smooth, delicious, and easy to drink, but coffee isn't always my thing. 3/5
Monster: Zero Ultra
This is what a Monster should taste like. Delectable, thin enough to feel hydrating, and barely salty. This is what I grab when I just need a little boost of 140 mg of caffeine.
5/5 Don't even try it. Seriously, it's not good. Tastes like aspartame and watered down coffee, but it still has a ton of sugar content. It contains 200 mg of caffeine, but it was almost impossible for me to get it down my throat.
1/5
Monster Java
