WHO'S HOT? ADAM DWORSKY. Adam Dworsky is a senior math major from Flower Mound, Texas. He plays for the Savage Storm men’s basketball team as a guard and just set a school record as an all-time leader in assists for Southeastern and the GAC. We checked in with Adam to get to know the man, the myth, the legend. What do you like to do in your spare time? In my spare time I enjoy watching basketball and playing golf with my friends. What’s your biggest pet peeve? People who talk/ chat while a teacher or coach is instructing. What’s your fav place to eat? Chick-fil-A, without a doubt.
Adam at his sister's graduation. Article by Madison Ellis
Do you like pickles? By themselves, no way. On a sandwich (like a Chick-fil-A sandwich), yes!

Do you have any pre game rituals? I’ m not too superstitious when it comes to pregame rituals, but I do enjoy eating a pregame sandwich from Subway or Firehouse and listening to country music. What do you want to be when you grow up? I would love to be a basketball coach when I grow up. 4
What players influenced you growing up? I always loved watching Dirk because he was the best player on my hometown team, but the most influential player for me was Steve Nash. He was so crafty and smart and competitive and I always tried to be like him.

A PLC Love Story...
Donald Broadnax, Jr. and Delanie Cooper met at PLC competition day in the spring of 2019. Both were hoping to get into the President’s Leadership Class for that upcoming fall, and both succeeded. Neither of the two realized the significance of their meeting at the time, but it would later become apparent that when they both got accepted into the program their lives changed forever. Donald and Delanie have been together since that fall of 2019 so we tracked down the PLC power couple to ask them a couple of questions just in time for Valentine’s Day. 6
Photos by Josie Frazier
Who was interested in who first? Delanie: I think me but we're not sure. Were you friends first? Donald: Yes, I used to make her come and eat with me. Delanie: Yes, we did almost everything together. How long have you been together? Donald: A little over a year. Favorite date to go on? Delanie: Going to get food and then watching movies on the couch. Donald: We very much enjoy Rib Crib. How long did you wait to tell people you were dating? Delanie: Everyone just assumed we were dating from the start. All of our friends knew we were going to date before we did. Favorite thing about each other? Donald: I don't think I could choose just one thing. Delanie: His loyalty and his heart. 7
Asian Gourmet We tried out one of the most affordable and tasty Asian restaurants this side of the Red River. With lunch specials starting at $6.99, it includes an appetizer along with the entrée. Can a broke college kid really go wrong with that? Asian Gourmet is located at 2824 W. University Blvd and I can say this is some top-tier, gourmet (get it?), Asian food.

It wasn’t too hard to find something worth chowing down on for lunch. Of course, being the broke college kid like I said earlier, I got the lunch special. I chose the crab rangoons as my appetizer and they consisted of a sweet cream cheese filling and fried crab meat. These were my personal favorite item on the menu. The crunchy sesame chicken paired with the saltiness of the soy sauce in the chicken fried rice, oh, it’s no wonder this combination is one of the most popular lunch items on the menu. You can’t go wrong with the price of $6.99 for a full meal (and maybe even leftovers!). With all of that being said, I highly recommend Asian Gourmet to get your Asian food fix! 10

Feast Your Eyes On This! Have you ever wanted to try homemade Hispanic pastries?

Find these pastries at Villegas - the small family owned Hispanic restaurant located on 9th street at the corner of Delicious and Tasty.
Villegas Mexican Restaurant and Bakery has been open for twenty years. They are open Monday through Sunday from 11am to 9pm so you have just enough time to get some lunch and add a delicious pastry on the go! This is our take on these amazing pastries: Confetti Sugar Cookie: This simple cookie with a burst of color will catch your eyes and excite your taste buds! Even in its simplicity as a sugar cookie when you taste this cookie you will reach new heights of delight. We would rate this an 8 out of 10. Coconut Chilindrina: From the radiant red to the flaky coconut topping this delicious pastry will not leave you disappointed. We rate this pastry a 9 out of 10. What better way to enjoy this pastry than cuddled up reading The Campus Note with a cup of coffee in hand! Tropical Beach Bread: Taking a bite into this tangy pineapple filled pastry will make you feel like you are on a tropical getaway! We would rate this a 9.25 out of 10. Magnificent Muffin: Don’t let the wrapper fool you! When this muffin is unraveled you will find that it’s shaped like a poinsettia and is just as sweet as it smells! It was hard to choose our favorite, but the moment we tasted this pastry we knew it was truly a magnificent muffin! 10 out of 10.

What type is your LOVE? Mostly A’s:
Ordinary Love - You love to keep things simple and play it safe on dates. The love you have is meant to be shared and expressed in the most kind and thoughtful ways. You never step out of your comfort zone and always are thinking of your significant other. Mostly B’s: Fun Love - You enjoy being goofy and having a good time with your partner. Playing games, eating good food, and laughing through it all is how you like to fall in love. It is all about the enjoyment of being yourself around your significant other.
Mostly C’s: Cheesy Love - You like the cheesy side of love. All things you see in the movies. Sunrises, sunsets, and star gazing all are on your love bucket list. This is why“ The City of Love” is your romantic getaway spot. For you and your significant other, pickup lines and baking together is how you fall in love.
Mostly D’s: What’s Love? - You ask yourself, “What’s love when there is a discounted candy day and romantic movies that make me cry?” You may be a little heartbroken...but still look at the bright side through a sad romantic movie while eating some chicken nuggets in bed. In your eyes, Valentine’s day is not important and you believe it will only leave you heartbroken with crippling depression.

What is your personal inspiration for your art work? “I like a lot of surrealist artists, like Frida Kahlo and Rene Magritte. Hirohiko Araki and Patrick Brown are big influences for me as well, but they work more in comic art. Vincent Valdez is another artist I look up to as well! What made you interested in art? I have always had an interest in art. My mom has baby photos of me picking up a pencil and just going crazy on a piece of paper. As far as I’ m concerned, art and I have always been together, I don’ t have any memories without it. How would you describe your style or type of art? Hmm.. this one is tough because I don’t feel like I've hit my stride in terms of my style. I love to work with the human figure and I love the feeling of surrealist paintings, so that's what I am striving to emulate in my work, right now!

Where do you want to take your work and what are your goals for your art work? I would love to teach as a painting professor or work as a concept artist for some company. Those are my long term dreams and goals! Right now, I am aiming to get a nice graphic design career going while also trying to promote myself as an artist in the process. What is your favorite piece that you’ve done so far? So far, Portrait of Woman #1 is my favorite! Just a combination of a lot of different things that I like to do. I'm really proud of this one!

Set It Up: Finding Love Takes Assistance
Four out of five stars. This classic Netflix original rom-com will give you all the feels from love, drama, and, of course lots of laughter. Set It Up introduces two main characters played by Glen Powell and Zoey Deutch who star as Charlie Young and Harper. Both Charlie and Harper are two underpaid and overworked assistants to rich business owners Kirsten Stevens, and Richard Otis (played by Lucy Liu and Taye Diggs). Charlie and Harper stay at their job all day and all night. These two assistants make it their goal to try and set up their bosses so they can get out of working. This movie has its ups and downs but definitely will make you laugh and have so much love for these characters. Overall, I highly recommend this movie - make it on your “must watch” rom-com list especially with the big lesson from this movie which is finding love just takes some assistance.
