join us for our open house
FEBRUARY 3, 2024
We wish to extend the warmest welcome to our friends, neighbors, and fellow cattlemen to join us for our 30th annual bull sale at the farm. The time really has flown by as we reflect on all the great sales, the laughs and the personalities that have truly blessed us with their presence. The cattle have certainly changed but our commitment to our customers is the same as it was when Mick and Deb began their Purebred Cattle journey. Our top priority has always been striving to be number 1 in customer satisfaction.
On Feb 10th we will be offering a set of cattle that we hope garner your respect. They are real cattle; they are not pampered and have been raised through a drought. They are a testament to our females that they indeed are able to go out to work and raise a calf in tough conditions. Our breeding goals have been at the core of this operation for a couple of decades and are pretty simple. Make the cows so they can do it on their own, are sound, consistently raise a quality calf, and do it efficiently. The bulls hopefully strike you as the kind that are going to cover cows well, add some middle and muscle shape, improve foot quality in your replacements and add some pounds to the calves. If you can evaluate them in person, we absolutely encourage you to do so as we believe the quality of the animals as well as the foot structure across the entire offering is excellent. If you are unable to get here, do not hesitate to call. We will be as honest and forthright in sharing our evaluation of each animal as we would be if we were buying for ourselves. We offer a sight unseen guarantee should you work with one of us to help select an animal for your operation’s needs. Thank you for your interest in our program and please let us know how we can be of assistance in being a trusted source of genetics for your herd.
We also welcome Brent and Tyler Fisher again this year with an excellent set of yearling Charolais bulls that are extremely high quality and the type of cattle that don’t need to be overloaded with condition to look the part of a herd bull. We selected or keystone Charolais females from their herd, and are pleased to have them join us at the sale.

We have spent a lot of years selecting for calving ease, and selecting for genetics that allow for calving ease without sacrificing performance. Many customers use our bulls on their first calvers. When we started the ‘Back to the Basics’ Bull Sale we made a system to help you when choosing your next heifer bull. When we grade the bulls, we are fairly conservative. Some of our customers with larger framed cattle successfully ‘level up’ as they get to know our program. Mick has always said, he won’t sell a bull he wouldn’t calve out himself. The system is based on the following...
BW in pounds
Consistency of sire’s BW
Consistency of dam’s BW
Consistency of calving ease of both sire & dam
Reccomended for cows only
Reccomended for cows or larger framed heifers
Reccomended for heifers
Always keep in mind 50% of your calf’s BW relates back to his dam. ALL BULLS ARE FULLY VACCINATED, INCLUDING FUSOGARD FOR FOOTROT PREVENTION.
3 bulls will get you 3%
4 bulls will get you 4%
5 bulls will get you 5%
The discount will only apply to bulls paid for within 30 days of Invoice Sale Day.
80% of our customers are repeat customers. We believe that there is no higher compliment than a customer referral. If you let us know that you have referred someone to our program, and they make a purchase we will give a 5% referral payment on their first year purchases. Referral names must be provided before the sale. Referral renumeration will be provided early spring after the lots are settled.
They are not staff, they are family. We know there is no way we could do this without them. We have been blessed the past few years with amazing help on both the cattle and crop aspects of our operation. We hosted a number of Students & Work Experience youth this past year, and it has been a great experience for us all. Special thanks to Georgia Turner (Australia), Julie Thomsen (Denmark) and Jordan Rogers (Canada). We also would like to thank all those friends and family that come together each year for both our busy crop seasons as well as the Bull Sale.
Cory joined our operation this year, and has been a terrific asset each and every day. His two children, Alec & Adrianna, keep him and his wife Kelsey very busy with their competitive hockey and other sports. He takes everything in stride as the days and seasons bring so much change in terms of the skills necessary to keep this place rolling. We could not be happier to have him as part of our team.
Matthew has wrapped up his 4 year degree in Animal Sciences at the University of Saskatchewan, and we are thrilled to have him full time on the farm. We are blessed to have 3 generations working together on the farm toward our vision for our herd. His memory for genetics and remembering cattle he has seen leads to many late night talks about breeding decisions. We are excited to see what the next stage of life has in store for him. Ryan, is in Grade 10. He has a passion for all things with an engine, and is quickly becoming his Dad’s right hand man in the shop.Casey, at 12, keeps us on our toes. He has a love for all animals, big or small, and a knack for picking out the good ones. His female projects have become some of the ranches top, providing us with a herdsire in the Angus, as well as a donor cow in the Hereford. Together, the boys are a great compliment to each other and our operation.

With the addition of the Charolais into the MJT herd, we needed herd sires to service the new additions. Mick found Hurricane at the well-known Elders herd and figured he’d be a great breeding piece. His sound structural make up, exceptional shape, and strong maternal bloodlines have us excited about his progenies futures here at MJT.
Tri-Max is a larger-framed bull we were fortunate enough to purchase frpom the 2021 Sparrow Bull Sale. We were really impressed with the females that Cam and his family were raising, and when Mick found out that his favourite female had a son in the sale he had to take a look at him. Tri-Max has exceptional width to him and heavy muscle pattern and heaps of performance. Needless to say, Mick brought this big man home, and we are all sure glad he did.
Del Rey was selected as the heifer bull specialist that we AI’d all our yearlings to. He delivered on our expectations as there wasn’t a single issue calving and the progeny have plenty of performance.
Hefner was the high selling bull at the 2021 Springside Bull sale. We ended up with progeny to this hot sire when purchasing a sleect group of females from the Springside dispersal. He’s royally bred maternal with the length and width to break the scale.
This low birthweight option is one you’re going to want to check out. We purchased his dam out of the Springside dispersal for her impeccable foot, udder, and look. If you like them moderate, thick, with a load of middle and muscle shape, this stylish bull is one to mark in your catalogue.
This bull is out of another great female we managed to acquire from the Springside Dispersal. Straight Springside bred, this heifer bull is as maternal as they come, calving ease certified, and stylish to boot. If you like them smoother made but still thick over their top with a little extra muscle shape throughout, this is a good option to check out.
We picked Del Rey as a calving ease option for our first batch of heifers we bought from Fischers. The Jenson-sired dam did an exceptional job raising this big bodied, big-ribbed, heavy muscled bull as her first calf. Calving ease, and performance in one package. Plus, if EPDs are your thing this guy is crushing the number game so be sure to look him up.
CALVING EASE:
This bulls out of a pretty stellar dam, problem free udder with good teat spacing, and a great foot under her, this bulls ready to pump out steers or replacement heifers. Big bodied, thick muscled, and lots of bone, there’s a lot of things to appreciate about this guy so you’ll have to take a look for yourself!
This moderate framed bull is as nice footed as they come. Long and smooth made, with spring of rib that just speaks feed conversion, this bull covers a lot of bases. To top it off the dam has a great udder and doesn’t miss.
This bull is made like his sire, long, big hipped, and with that little extra softness you can’t help but admire. If you want one to pack on pounds in your calves, he’s one to watch. His dam is a big middled, stout made vow with a nice udder, that always catches your eye on pasture checks too.
This pound maker is thick, long, and soft made with that extra middle that just screams performance. Out of a solid dam, you can see why he’s in the top 4% of the
for
and
This strong maternal line has a solid production history, and this is another testament to that, a lower birthweight option out of the Trimax sire group, he still compares to his pen mates in his length of body and structure. Add into the mix a really solid hair coat and he makes for an interesting one to say the least.
Around here, we really drool over the heifer bulls that can pack a punch in the muscle and performance categories too, and this guy does just that. Stout as can be with a load of red meat and rib shape it’s awesome to see a first calver really put in the work to raise one as attractive and impressive as this calving ease option.
EASE:
This dam is one of the farm favourites, she’s bold ribbed, big hipped, sound, great uddered, and has such an attractive look that we love. This match up really made for a cool bull to offer as this guy is perhaps one of the thickest we have. He’s nicely muscled and has his moms attractive front as well with a pretty nice birthweight to add to the mix.
CALVING EASE:
This ones one of the more moderate bulls in the Trimax group but he still has the rib, softness, and muscle we’ve seen throughout the Trimax group. Honestly, he’s a pretty impressive individual from a first calver, so you know that there’s doability here.
Another moderate option out of the Trimax group, low birthweight with the stoutness and thickness throughout his top we’ve always been fond of regardless of breed, it’s impressive how well this first calvers son puts the package together. Good footed and hairy with lots of red meat, the bases are covered.
If you like low birthweight bulls that know how to grow and show up at weaning and as yearlings, this ones for you. Big hipped, soft made, and thick all the way through, he just screams easy keeper. If you know us, numbers aren’t a focus but when a bull is in the top 15% for birth weight, top 1% weaning, and the top 10% for yearling weight on nothing but moms’ milk, they’re worth mentioning.
This low birthweight option out of our Elders Hurricane group is a pretty interesting, more moderate option. He’s stout, thick topped, and has a load of middle while still retaining an impressive amount of style and presence in the pen. He gets out and moves too with a solid dam to back him.
This
of body, and being about as thick as they come.
This front-pasture grade cow stepped out and raised a real heavy duty, bigger framed performance bull here. When bulls have muscle like this one you really appreciate it. Another out of the Trimax sire group, he’s long bodied, thick made, and well balanced.
Just like the rest of his brothers, this bull is an absolute unit. Big boned, bigger framed, and with a good hair coat out of an older cow that’s stayed around for a reason, 51K is going to push the envelope on the performance side of things in your calf crop.
but still a
option with the amount of muscle and length
Fischer Charolais is pleased to be back for its second year in the Back to the Basics Bull Sale. We would like to thank last years buyers for their support. Kevin Mackay, Steven and Garrett Raasok and Silver Shadow Charolais. Our farm is located just east of Irma, and Tyler’s family has just recently added the sixth Fischer generation to the Irma community. We are an average size grain farm, and a cow/calf backgrounding operation, along with a small herd of Purebred cows.
We have just recently addedd another Sire for our herd this fall BAR SK STRIKE OUT 310L from Eaton Livestock out of Lloydminister. Sired by M&M Outsider and the Starstruck cow family we are excited to see what he will do within our program and years to come as we look to continue to improve the quality of cattle throughout our herd.
In the fall of 2021 we purchased a bred heifer from Wilgenbusch Charolais that had the genetics that we wanted to add to our herd. We began to flush her in the spring of 2022 and we are pleased to be able to sell 3 of her sons in this years sale. She is a Carbon Copy daughter and has the Downtown 7C bull on the Dam side. The first crop of calves off her all have great thickness and length that we are happy to be adding to our herd.
Our bulls In this sale will be srcotal measured and have a current weight available near sale time. They are guaranteed to pass their semen test by April 1, or the buyer will be refunded their deposit or select a replacement bull of their choice. We will keep the bulls on feed until April 15 at no cost to the buyer and will provide delivery.
Elevation is the first of 3 embryo calves that we are offering in this years sale. this is a well balanced bull that will add length and muscle to his offspring
I believe this Moreno sired bull is the best in the group. We purchased Moreno with Trefiaks 2 years back from Sparrows and we are very pleased with the first crop of calves we have gotten off of him. A bigger framed bull that is smooth through his front end but provides lots of length and muscle

This bull was used when we had another sire get injured, and he proved his worth with an incredibly consistent and strong set of bulls in this years group. The young group of females he has produced have quickly risen straight to the top of our pen with several donor quality daughters from this bull. Impressive has been one of the top breeding bulls to walk the pastures here, and that puts him in the same category as the fan favourite Kodiak, Touchdown, and Crossfire sire groups. His offspring have extra muscle shape, big tops, and a big foot. This bull goes back to the great 7Y female out of the Miller Wilson program, a past Farmfair Supreme Champion. We think you will appreciate the set of bulls he left for this year’s sale.
818F is a bull that we were fortunate enough to be able to utilize once he was purchased by Shawn Stadnyk. His dam, 361C, has been a top grade producer with several daughters and her own bulls in this years sale. 121D is proving to be an important breeding tool at MJT. He’s a bigger framed bull to compliment some of our more moderate females that stems from our well-received Touchdown bloodlines that have been cornerstones in our cowherd. We took this June born ranch bull out to Agribition in 2018 and were honoured with a Reserve Champion Sr. Bull banner. To top it off, his dam is a great uddered, big bodied, productive cow that knows how to produce because this bull boasted the highest gain per day of all breeds at Agribition 2018.
This Charlo son is the result of a crossing with the $500,000 maternal legend, Bar-E-L Erica 74A. The flushmates from this bull have found success and renown in their respective homes at Bohrsons and Duff Cattle Company for good reason. The daughters of this bull are drool worthy females, big middled, sound, beautiful uddered, with several making the donor pen. On the same note these sons are as consistently good as any breeder could hope. We’ve retained a share of several sons for our own use because we love the job this bull has done. Here is a sire that has become very popular for his easy calving birth weights that still have enough grow. They are practical cattle that are attractive and functional.
This bull is extremely balanced, bold ribbed, and attractive through his front third. Top it off with a big top and you have a pretty solid breeding option.
Here’s a calving ease option that really pushes the scale in performance. Out of a really good uddered young dam that knows how to put in work and raise a good one, this bull is evidence of that. Exceptionally wide hipped and big topped, with a great muscle pattern and style, this bull is a moderate power option on a fault-free, big foot.
Touchdowns became customer favourites for a reason, they were heavy muscled, sound, and the sisters were gorgeous. This bull is all beef and out of a phenomenal Touchdown daughter that hasn’t missed yet. He has a top end sister in production, and a spring born maternal sib that is drool worthy in the replacement pen. Get some torque and get a female maker with this one.
This stout-made, long-spined, certified Canadian bull goes back to all of the greats here at MJT. His paternal sisters are some of the best uddered females we’ve raised with small teats and laser level udders that make us glad we leased his sire back after our sale. His dam is a young donor potential cow to boot. Sound, wide-based, and loads of red muscle, a definite herd-sire prospect.
This bull is thick topped, big hipped and big boned. This dam knows how to raise them, as the flushmate to our MJT Impressive 813F herdsire, this bloodline is maternally bred and knows how to perform. The hair, middle, and foot on this bull, as well as the fact that these females are going to be guaranteed knockouts with some performance make this guy one to have on the list.
This bull is one that’s truly hard to miss when you go through the offering, extremely stylish with a load of rib shape and hip, it’s hard to imagine how they can be as smooth made and balanced as he is. A real power option, this bull is out of a Charlo daughter that’s likely our next donor cow. She’s moderate made but weans off one of the best calves every year with a heifer that is top of the replacement pen this year. This one gets us excited.
If you’re looking for maternal power, this bull has it. Out of one of our matriarchs here at MJT that stems from the renowned Madame Pride bloodline and the sires backing by the Envious Blackbird line, 616K is certain to leave dream-worthy females. What’s better is despite his moderate frame, this ideal footed bull doesn’t skimp out when it comes to muscle, volume, and thickness. A no miss calving ease option.
Sire:
This is a bull you can rest easy on. We’ve put together two of our most prominent producers on this bull with the Impressive bull on the top and our 615E donor cow on the bottom. We’ve kept two maternal sibs to this bull as herd bulls, and the calves look phenomenal with the sisters really pulling their own weight around here. Don’t miss your chance to get in on an all around good bull here.
This bulls dam really knows how to produce. She raised last years lead off Angus bull that went to Nielsons, and the reports have been nothing but positive. Another great Crossbow son that has a touch more frame than some of the others, if you like them long-spined, stylish, with that extra bone and muscle shape, this is one to mark down. This bull is sure to catch your eye, add some pounds, and fill the replacement heifer pen.
We bought this bulls dam in partnership with Blairswest Land & Cattle to be our new donor female a few years back. As you can see in the support picture, the daughters out of this female have been second to none. This cows a producer and well made to boot, which she certainly has passed on to all her progeny. Here’s a son out of that donor cow, he’s sound made, big boned, well balanced, and you can bet he’s going to produce.
The moment this bulls dam hit the ground as a calf we knew our Charlo offspring were going to be heavy hitters. She’s always been impressive. We’ve kept two full siblings to this bulls dam for our herd sire battery for a reason, we believe big time in this bloodline and the proof is in the pudding. She’s as sweet uddered and correct as they come. Combining her with Classic is sure to make for a maternally based powerhouse. This bull is longer than most but equally as thick as any in the pen. With a great foot and that herd bull look he’s one we have a lot of faith in.
If you want a reason that this bull should be on your list, take a look at his numbers and the latest flush we’ve done to his dam. This donor cow is the maternal sister to the $300,000 high-selling cow in Rainbow Red Angus’ dispersal, with many other maternal and full sibs tearing up the angus world. He may be moderate, but boy is he mighty, and his maternal backing is magnificent. Don’t miss out on this one. Dam owned with Noe Villalobos.

and good at the ground.
We kept this bull’s sire as our calving ease specialist, and he delivered. Low birth weight and heavy muscling make for a cool combination. This bulls stout as they come with a hip and top on him thick enough to use as a table. Good footed, bold ribbed, and out of a proven cow line.

Sire: Dam:
This Real Estate son is a big middled, soggy, loose hided bull with great feet and leg structure. He’s got a bit extra spine length for all the rib he carries while still maintaining a really attractive look to his overall phenotype. Backed by our Dark Duchess cow family, he’s a good one.
If you’ve been around the Angus industry throughout the last 10 years, you’ll know the legendary Brooking Banknote bull. We only did one flush out of that prestigious sire, and the offspring were powerhouses. This guys dam was one of those flush progeny. She makes them moderate but awfully sound and stout, so if you’re looking for a moderate framed female maker, he’s right here.
This Real Estate son is smooth made, long spined and has some serious bone underneath him. It’s always fun watching these spring born, low birthweight bulls grow out, so don’t miss your chance to get eyes on him.
This cow makes them all the same way, whether it’s bulls or females. Big middled, loose hided, and deep from front to back. 625E is backed by one of our top cow families and it shows, she always has one in the top end of the pen every year and breeds back near the start of the season. A no miss bull with consistency, soundness, and predictability bred into him here. Make sure to give him a look.
Another solid calving ease option here, backed by a predictable producer. Her bull last year was built extremely similar to this year’s option. Smooth made, exceptionally balanced, with that loose hided sogginess that is a telltale sign of bred in doability and feed conversion. We really like this bull for a lot of reasons, he goes “back to the basics” and then some.
This performance oriented bull is a slightly bigger framed option but follows it up with some serious length and hip. If you’re looking for power in an attractively made package and out of a female that had a bull in the top of the sale last year for the same reasons, as well as being out of a cow that’s downright good.
This calving ease bull is one that is a good footed as they come, and equally hairy. His damn has a really sweet heifer in our replacement heifer pen to boot so don’t skip on checking this guy out.
A real female maker in the making here. Backed by a solid young cow that’s produced some great females, this is her first shot at raising a bull, and she didn’t hold back. This bulls stout and square from his hip all the way to where he meets the ground.
If you’re looking for a bull that will bring the A game in performance and maternal power, look no further. This dam has produced not only some great bulls but some amazing females too, including the dam to lot 680K in this years sale, and a wicked first calver this year. There’s a lot of proven production here, and the bull ticks all the right boxes for us while having some extra dimension and muscle to really make him an exciting one. Don’t miss out on a son from a farm favourite.
EASE:
This cow likes to throw a little extra punch behind her calves and this cow bull is definite proof of that. Nice frame
bull, with some wicked shaggy hair and a big top on him, he makes for an interesting breeding piece.
This chunk of a bull is one sure to throw a calf crop that’ll push the scales. Big hipped, big boned, with some serious shape, it’s really just a bonus that he’s backed by a solid cow that stems from some big-time producers.
Here’s a bull out of one of our true matriarchs here. With a long, outstanding production history behind this cow, there isn’t a lot of guesswork behind this bull. He’s a meat machine, with muscle shape to spare and carrying it well into his lower third. If you’re a sucker for big based bulls with that popping stifle muscle and solid maternal backing, he’s a breeding tool to watch for.
It’s awesome when you get a spring-born bull that is as competitive with the January group as this bull is. This Charlo son is a must see. If his spring of rib, length of spine and muscle shape don’t win you over, a look at his foot structure and hip will. This dams production history over the last few years have been next level with multiple bulls being at the top of the sale. This heifer bull is a solid young cows first calf, the female foundations are behind this guy with his dam being purchased a few years back from the good folks at MRL. Easy doing, soggy made, loose hided, and sound as could be, this bull boasts an 80 lb birthweight and will likely be 2050lbs by sale time. Talk about doability.
Here’s a thick haired, soggy middled bull. You can’t help but appreciate the way this sire group fits together. There’s a definite type that this bull throws, and we think it’s a good thing. This one here is another thick topped bull with a bit of performance but a nice birthweight too.
This meat machine of a bull is backed by a solid, Canadian bred dam. Big bodied, good footed, and long bodied, there’s a lot to love about this bull. With his extra thickness and muscle packed into a uniquely attractive package, it’s hard to miss this guy.
This Impressive son is as hairy, good footed, and thick as they come. With his strong top, big middle, and long body, he’s how like them.
This bulls dam was one of the first females we put on offer throw our sale as pick of the flush sisters. We only put females on offer that it breaks our heart to see leave, and this cow goes to show why that ideology is one we’ve stuck to. This bull is long bodied, soggy, thick, and muscled up without sacrificing on that look that attracts people to the Angus breed. A solid, sound made bull to take the guesswork out of bull selection here.
This Canadian bred cow really hit the mark on this match up. A stout, soggy, big boned, poundmaker bull here, 693K has a lot to offer regardless of your breeding objectives. With great foot and leg structure underneath him, as well as muscle pattern that is expressive and carries well into his lower third, this bulls a solid option on offer this year.
This bull is one of our rare opportunities to get in on genetics from the ¾ brother to the $290,000 U2 Shameless bull. This bull is masculine, good footed, big hipped, and heavy muscled. Add that he’s backed by a Crossfire dam and has an 82 lb BW and he becomes a pretty versatile breeding option.
698K is out of an older female with a long history of solid bulls in the sale. Moderate, big middled, extra bone, and some serious muscle shape. The fundamentals that make a great herd sire are all there.
This bull is stout, hairy, and muscled up. Backed by a Sizzler dam that likes to add a little extra performance to her calves without sacrificing on the

This calving ease bull is one we really like, he covers all the bases from hair and feet, all the way to the dams quality. If you like them long, soggy, and muscled up with width from the ground all the way to the hip, this is your guy.

This bull is a red carrier out of a strongly maternal line. His sister is one we’re highly anticipating calving out this spring as she’s easily one of the top breds. This bull is wide topped, soft made and smooth shouldered with great muscle shape to boot.
This lower birthweight bull is another one of our Bravo sons. Big hipped, loose made, and loves to move this bull is one that knows how to show himself off. This end of May bull is really packing a punch for his day of age but that’s how we like them, sound and powerful.
This bull has loads of hair, is good footed, and backed by a nice uddered dam. He’s stout made, big boned, and long spined. Another nicely
This bull is performance to his core. Stemming from the great Barbara Rose cow family, he has maternal covered. He’s big boned, soggy bodied, long spined, and has a heck of a presence in the pen. Add that to a great foot and solid hair coat, he’s one to check out.

WITHOUT PAPERS
This bull might sell without papers but that sure doesn’t mean he’s without quality. This is a big middled, heavy muscled bull with some serious thickness and power to him and a really good foot too.
When Kurt and Shannon went to Cabana Las Anitas in Uruguay and saw the program there, they knew we had to get some of these genetics into Canada. This bull was a big reason why, a National Champion out of a National Champion donor cow, he’s plain good. The Uruguayan bulls have caught alot of eyes and excitement here in Canada and they’re just getting started.
Purchased by Tommy Elliot and Grant Hirsche, this Belle Air son is exceptionally marked and sound as they come. The first offspring of this bull have done well in both show and sale ring alike. The females are guaranteed home runs and the steer/ bull offspring know how to push the scale.
Reserve Champion Mature Bull at the 2012 World Hereford Conference and Reserve Champion Horned Hereford at Agribition 2011, “Magnum” was one of two flushmates from a crossing of straight MJT genetics out of our great Century 264P “Total” herd sire. Magnum was the type of bull we strive to continually raise here at MJT. Sound, low maintenance, high performing, and easy calving.
Sire:
A high seller to GLM Herefords out of Nebraska, this bull was one that had a lot of things to love about him. Sound at the ground, heavy on performance without sacrificing sleep at calving. There’s only one offspring in our sale but the females and bulls both sides of the border are looking special.

Our 2021 lead off bull, we knew he was to good not to use ourselves. The dam is a producer, and he’s soggy, long bodied, pigmented, and sound as they come. When the first couple calves hit the ground we knew we made a good call. We got mostly heifers but aren’t sad about it since they’re plain good and the bulls don’t slack off either. The females out of this bull have gained international attention with the first heifer to sell going to Mexico to be a foundation donor cow.

Rocky has drawn international interest and became a sensation when he won the 2018 Polled Hereford Show at Agribition and the Hereford Champion of the World title. Rocky is the type of bull we strive for at MJT. He is long bodied, deep, square hipped, and big topped. Combine those traits with a dark cherry color, we believe he is a package that combines performance with showability. His sons have been some of the best we have raised yet, and the consistency of his calves is outstanding.
This bull is a heavy hitter in the maternal department. His dam produced a feature bull for the sale last year, and a real good one again this go around. To top it off, he’s out of a homeraised bull that we really like the females out of, a daughter just sold to Mexico for $12,000 so others think the same too. Loose hided, deep sided, and thick topped, this fellas one to mark down.
This guys heavy on performance, this cow always lays down and rears an exceptional bull calf that’s only for those looking for some extra power. With sons doing an exceptional job at McKay Herefords and HMS Hi-Cliffe, there’s no doubt about the quality here. There’s nothing small about this guy from his foot and bone to his hip, top, and rib. If you’re looking to push the scale at home this is your guy.
Iron Will was the high selling Hereford bull to McKay Herefords in Nebraska a few years back and we decided to retain semen for our own use. This guy and his sister go to show why, not only is the female side of the equation covered, but this bull is no slouch either. A cow-oriented power bull through and through, 809K is a bigger framed, long spined bull that’s soft made and built on a solid base, there’s a reason he’s a feature.
CALVING EASE:
This horned bull is going to leave behind some great sons, and exceptional females. Out of a daughter from one of our top donor cows and BR Belle Air 6011 you couldn’t ask for better maternal backing in a bull. He’s extra long, good at the ground, big hipped, with calving ease to boot so don’t let this one slip by.
This bull is a full sibling to a female Ryan was exhibiting this summer as well as the 5x Agribition Supreme Qualifier HMS 225D Glamour 32G, so you know there’s no guesswork on the type of females he’s going to leave behind. Good footed, well -balanced, and thick as they come the bases are covered because he adds that dark red colour into the mix too.
EASE:
This lower birthweight horned bull is out of a cool dam. An overall complete bull, he’s thick, stout, sound, and soggy. A great addition for those looking for some horned genetics this year.
Our Uruguayan bulls created a bit of a stir in the Hereford breed last year selling at the top of our sale. This bull is a stout made, heavy muscled power bull out of the Uruguayan National Champion Bull and Cow. If you’re looking for an outcross, dark red, well pigmented power option bull to hit the cow herd, this is him.
REG #: C03108938 | TATTOO: MJT 827K | DOB: April 17 2022 Sire:
The Royal semen and offspring have been highly sought after in the Hereford circle the last few years, and this spring born bull shows why. Well pigmented, dark red, and really sound, 827K is a surefire female maker.
This Royal son is a bit of a bigger framed option but, with that frame comes exceptional hip and bone. If you’re a sucker for when they’re dark cherry red and long spined, this is one to take a look at. His dam is a full sib to our Cindy 105C donor cow that’s but the feature Sim x Hereford cross bulls through the sales the last few years, as well as some really solid purebred offspring.
EASE:
This maternally backed bull is dark coloured, big bodied, and thick as they come. With the size and quality of foot and the extra bone this one has, he’s a definite one to watch for.
This Royal son is one you truly can’t miss in the pen. Out of a great cow family with Ribeye R117 on the bottom end and Royal on the top, these females will make you drool. Add to that this bull’s big hip, bold rib, and ideal pigment pattern with extra bone and a big, perfect foot make definite herd bull material in an extremely attractive package. He doesn’t stop coming along and we think he has a bright future ahead with whoever takes him home. Dam owned with Brenda Perlinger.
This young bull is a smooth made, soft hided bull with some extra spine. With the hair and foot plus the maternal backing this guy has, he is sure to leave a pen of replacement females that will work for any producer.
Out of the Nellie cow family, the females here are surefire. This dark pigmented, big footed bull makes for a really solid option to look at.
This horned calving ease option has a lot of things to admire, including his dam. Purchased from Matt Lohner 7G is good uddered and good looking too. This son has the looks too. He’s well balanced, smooth made, and soft hided with a little extra spine and foot thrown into the mix.
This moderate framed, stoutly made bull is thick, soggy, and big ribbed but ties it together in an attractive package. His dam the Jade 93E cow has raised some top-level females here, including a full sister to this bull that’s about as nice uddered and productive as they come. Some serious maternal power
TATTOO: MJT 869K | DOB: May 20 2022
Smooth made and backed by some excellent females in his pedigree, he is sure to leave you some daughters you will want to keep in your replacement pen. The Aimee’s & Jessica’s have been building top quality females in many herds the last 15 years, leaving moderate females that can build bulls. Through no fault of his own, this bull sells without papers
Another Royal son out of a solid Lincoln daughter, he puts together some of our top bull options in one blood line. A little higher performance option here, 870K is a moderate framed bull with a load of muscle shape and middle while still retaining a loose hide. What takes the cake, is that he also throws a great hair coat and foot in the mix too!
This Royal son really takes after his mom, he’s soft made, big middled, and a touch stouter than most. His dam is from the prestigious Xkeona family that have sold well across Canada, so you know she’s a solid maternal female. Take a peek at this guy.
This horned bull goes back to our 117R donor cow that raised multiple high end animals at multiple purebred operations, as well as being the dam to our top donor cow here. This bull is deep sided, big ribbed, and has a great foot on him. Plus a weaning weight of 800 lbs is nothing to scoff at either!
We sold Odyssey as a calf after he won Reserve Champion Simmental Bull but kept a piece of him to utilize in our small Simmental program and as a cleanup for our recips because we knew he’d produce some really solid calves that could go out and be good cows, bulls, or steers. This bulls a testament to how glad we were we made that decision. A frame size bigger than his brother, this sucker is good footed, big boned, and has a load of hip and middle.
Another Odyssey son, these bulls are maternally stacked. This stouter option is long spined, heavy muscled and just plain old good looking. While he may sell unregistered, this purebred bull is a real deal breeder that is destined to do some good things.
We’ve sold one of these fellas before. This Captain Scream x MJT 105C (Hereford donor cow) crossing works. We have one full sister here on the farm that weaned off a real good commercial calf, and looked good doing it so you can expect the same here. Big framed, big boned, big footed, this is a big time halfblood bull to take a look at.
When we started the F1 bull program, we agreed they were going to have to be unique calf to spare shipping during the fall steer run. This guy is that, big boned, heavy muscled, and bold ribbed with a cool first calver to back him, he’s a pretty unique option for those looking at baldie bulls.
Another stylish, soft made, nicely muscled F1 bull. Backed by a solid first calver, he has all the pieces of a great herd bull behind him.
This baldie is out of a tanky first calf daughter of the great Haroldson’s JVJ Royal bull that is so hot in the Hereford deal right now. With his sires production history being a First Impression bull on the top side, the female making capacity is there. 78 lb BW and plenty of shape and stoutness to share, this bull deserves a look for the F1 bull fans.
Sire:
Well, this guy was a bit of a mistake but, we’re sure glad he’s here. His dam managed to not stick to her AI and the cleanup bull caught her instead so here’s a baldie out of the Miss Hereford Champion of the World. This bull is clearly well backed maternally but, he’s also impressive in his own right with his length of spine, depth from one end to the other, his width from his top all the way down to his foot.
