Welcome to November! As the fall term enters its final stretch, we know it’s a busy time filled with projects, exams, and the start of holiday anticipation. This month is all about celebrating our community and appreciating each of you, which is why we’re thrilled to bring you Resident Appreciation Week. Look forward to an exciting lineup of events designed just for you opportunities to unwind, connect, and enjoy some well-deserved downtime. From cozy gatherings to creative workshops and tasty treats, there’s something for everyone.

This month, it’s easy to feel the weight of your academic responsibilities. As the workload builds, remember the importance of balance. MOVEM ER

Movember is an annual event involving the growing of moustaches during the month of November to raise awareness of Men's Health issues, such as prostate cancer, testicular cancer, and men ' s suicide.

Statisticsshowthatmenare three times more likely to die by suicide compared to women. By focusing on open conversations, Movember aims to break down stigmas surrounding mental health, promoting a supportive culture for men to talk about their challenges.

Prostate cancer is one of the mostcommoncancersinmen. Early detection through regular screening can be lifesaving,butmanymenavoidor delay check-ups. Movember campaigns work to educate men on the importance of earlyscreeningsandresearch funding for better treatment options.

This is the most common cancer in young men aged 15-34. Movember encourages awareness and regular self-exams, helping men detect changes early.

BASIC BUDGETING

50/30/20 Rule: This simple rule is effective for managing finances

Use 50% of your income for essentials (like rent and food), 30% for personal spending, and 20% for savings or paying off debt.

Use Budgeting Apps: Tools like Mint or YNAB (You Need a Budget) can help you track daily expenses without much hassle.

CREDIT CARDS AND LOANS

Understand Interest Rates: Credit cards and loans come with interest rates you need to be aware of Pay your full balance on time to avoid additional charges.

EVERY YEAR, IN THE LEAD UP TO REMEMBRANCE DAY, CANADIANS OBSERVE VETERANS’ WEEK FROM NOVEMBER 5-11.

CANADA IS HOME TO HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS OF VETERANS OF DIFFERENT AGES AND IDENTITIES, ALL WITH THEIR OWN DISTINCT EXPERIENCES THEY DESERVE TO BE RECOGNIZED AND HONOURED FOR THEIR SERVICE

AS THE ROYAL CANADIAN AIRFORCE CELEBRATES ITS 100TH ANNIVERSARY, THIS YEAR’S VETERANS’ WEEK PAYS HOMAGE TO CAF MEMBERS WHO HAVE CONTRIBUTED TO DOMESTIC OPERATIONS, INTERNATIONAL PEACE EFFORTS AND OVERSEAS MILITARY MISSIONS AT SEA, ON LAND AND IN THE AIR, FROM THE SHORES OF NOVA SCOTIA TO CYPRUS AND EAST TIMOR, THESE COURAGEOUS WOMEN AND MEN HAVE DEMONSTRATED RESILIENCE AND PRIDE, AND STOOD FIRM IN DEFENCE OF OUR VALUES

EACH YEAR, VETERANS’ WEEK IS AN OPPORTUNITY TO REAFFIRM THAT, AS CANADIANS, WE EACH HAVE A DUTY TO REFLECT ON AND COMMEMORATE THE SACRIFICES OF ALL THOSE WHO HAVE SERVED AND CONTINUE TO SERVE OUR COUNTRY IN TIMES OF WAR, MILITARY CONFLICT AND PEACE
