Halfway through a semester already! Wow it has flown by.
I hope you have had the chance to get out and enjoy the beautiful autumn weather.
We are so excited for Resident Appreciation Week, a time when we get to celebrate all our residents. We have so many events lined up for the week. Be sure to come out for the therapy dogs on Thursday(my personal favourite)
November is Pulse time. A survey that residents are to fill out. So be on the lookout for the survey.
Spend some time during your reading week to rest and reset, so that you can come back to finish the semester strong. Be sure to have your winter gear ready as we move into colder weather.

In Flanders Fields
By John McCrae
In Flanders fields the poppies blow
Between the crosses, row on row, That mark our place; and in the sky
The larks, still bravely singing, fly Scarce heard amid the guns below.
We are the Dead. Short days ago We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow, Loved and were loved, and now we lie, In Flanders fields.
Take up our quarrel with the foe: To you from failing hands we throw The torch; be yours to hold it high. If ye break faith with us who die We shall not sleep, though poppies grow In Flanders fields.

Facecoveringshelp! WINTER WARDROBE STAPLES Start off with a winter jacket! I'd suggest getting a decent quality one, but if you are tight on the budget, stocking up one warm sweaters and hoodies can help out in a pinch Don'tunderestimategloves! Once the cold really sets in, it is going to be hard to keep your fingers warm, so gloves are a must. Thick winter gloves will keep your fingers warm through long walks to class, but if those are not your cup of tea, even slim fabric gloves are better then none! Remembrance Day
Remembrance Day has been established in Canada as a national holiday since 1931. At the eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month in 1918 WWI ended. Canada follows this tradition to give a minute of silence at this time to remember and honor those who fought and sacrificed in war.
Will Remember Them
Poppies were a common sight in the battleground cemeteries in the first world war. They became a symbol of those who died on the battlefield and this symbol continues to carry on.
On November 11th wear a poppy to remember and honor the memories of those who died in service of their country.
