Aseem attends UofT, where he is getting his Master of Business and Administration. He believes that exercise and movement are core factors in life. He says that yoga, endurance and strength training, and using the gym are mental things that keep you away from stress and build confidence! Aseem likes to read as it helps to relax, enter the point of view of a character, and exercise empathy. He is currently reading Intuitive Eating by Elyse Resch and Evelyn Tribble, and Norwegian Wood by Haruki Murakami. The music he likes to listen to is Lose Yourself to Dance by Daft Punk and he likes to hang out in the sky lounge every other morning enjoying the vibes and creating a to-do list for the day. What he likes about CampudOne is the community. He likes how people are very professional, academic and open to connection. Most of all he enjoys how he can connect with like-minded people. Interviewer: "What would you say to students looking for a residence in Toronto?" Aseem: "If you’re looking for a place to make friends and make a sense of belonging, while still being in an academically arranged area, this is a great place to live!"

Mother's Day Sunday May 8
By Roxana Chiriac
Flowers, chocolate, what else? Many of us run around last minute, desperately searching for the “right” gift. After all, it has to be perfect this year. Moms, however, are more interested in how much time we spend with them instead of the amount spent on their gifts. “I prefer a homemade card to a gift,” says Toronto mother Heather Donnelly. “I would also prefer more time together.” Her daughter, a third-year English student at York University, strives for both. Shannon Donnelly picks up flowers, chocolates and a card to commemorate the occasion. Most importantly, she makes sure to spend time with her mom.
“I have noticed that it is harder to schedule things as life gets busier and obligations pile on, but I always make Mother’s Day my number one priority,” she says. Like many others, Shannon works hard on balancing her time between classes, projects, studying and her part-time job. Life is busy, full of appointments and many other things that are competing for her attention. Pharmacy technician Patricia Saw regularly sees customers running in and out while purchasing gifts, across her Medicare and Main Drug Mart locations. She does the same, yet remembers those gifts are a bonus next to the gift of one’s time. “I think people should spend more quality time with their mom and family,” Patricia says. “People don’t realize that it’s important to remember the sacrifice our moms made for us.” Mothers spend countless hours and years of their lives raising, caring for and looking after their kids, even after they ‘fly out from the nest.’ Their wish often remains simple, yet full of meaning. “The ideal Mother’s Day is with family and friends sharing a homemade meal,” Heather says. “Time together or a phone call to say they are thinking about me, means a lot.”

the truth behind WHY DO WE CELEBRATE 5 DE MAYO?
ITS IS NOT MEXICO'S INDEPENDENCE DAY BUT YOU CAN JOIN THE CELEBRATION
Is an annual celebration held on May 5, which commemorates the anniversary of Mexico's victory over the French forces of Napoleon III at the Battle of Puebla in 1862. United states started marketing this date for a way to commercialize nachos, beer & party.

Summer Job
When it feels like you just finished a year of hard work and just want to relax and have some fun, convincing yourself to work for the summer might be quite a task. It might feel like your brain needs a break and maybe you are right, so try using it in a different way! If you are constantly indoors and studying throughout the school year, you could get a job that is exactly the opposite of that! Work outdoors and get some physical labor , changing your perspective for the summer, making some money and giving your brain a chance to chill and gear up for the coming semester. Having a job for the summer can contribute to more than just your workload. It can supplement your income making you less reliant on student loans and helping you avoid a large debt load when you graduate. It can provide vital and practical experience on your resume so that when you head out after graduation you also have something besides education and hobbies listed . If you are lucky enough to find summer or part-time work in your chosen field of study it can be a great tool for rounding out your education and giving you a head start on your career while also giving you a chance to see if it is what you really want to do. @CAMPUSONE CONNECT| MAY 2022 ISSUE

A summer job is a way of easing into what the “real world” has in store for you.
It exposes you to people who have different life stories than you and maybe even helps you find lasting friendships you might not have had because academically you are on different paths. It helps you understand the consequences of responsibility in a way that academia does not. You miss a deadline in school and you lose marks. You miss a deadline at work and you may well lose your job! Sometimes the lesson is that you absolutely know that you don’t want to do this job ever again in life. So when you put away the text books and look at what the summer has in store for you, remember- There is all sorts of learning to be found outside of class and some of it pays! In the words of Loki (Avengers reference) “I consider Experience, Experience.”
