4 best study techniques
THE ULTIMATE GUIDE TO HELP YOU STUDY BETTER.
POMODORO TECHNIQUE
A popular time management method that helps you stay focused and productive. How to use it:
Set a timer for 25 minutes and work on a single task
Take a 5-minute break to stretch, grab a snack, or breathe deeply
Repeat four times, then take a longer break before starting again.
ACTIVE RECALL
Retrieves information from memory rather than simply reviewing notes. This forces your brain to actively engage with the material, making it easier to remember in the future. How to use it:
After studying a topic, close your notes and try to recall the key points.
FEYNMAN TECHNIQUE
If you can explain a concept in a way that even a beginner could understand, it means you truly grasp it. How to use it:
Try to explain it as if you were teaching a child
Identify any points where your explanation falls short and revisit those areas
SPACED REPETITION
Spaced repetition involves reviewing material at increasing intervals over time, rather than cramming everything into one session. This method is especially effective for long-term retention. How to use it:
Review key points after 01 day, then after 03 days, 01 week, and so on.
Use apps like Anki that automatically schedule your review sessions.
Self Care Awareness
November is a great time to focus on mental health and self-care, especially as the holidays approach, and colder, darker days can affect mood and energy levels. Here are some tips and resources to consider for boosting mental wellness this month:
Prioritize 7-9 hours of sleep per night Establish a calming bedtime routine, avoid screen time before bed, and try relaxation techniques if you have trouble falling asleep.

Check in with Your Support System
Stay connected with friends and family, especially during times when you feel isolated. Regular check-ins or video calls can help maintain emotional support.
Engage in Creative Hobbies
Indulging in creative activities can serve as a great mental break. Whether it’s drawing, writing, or playing music, these activities can reduce stress and improve mood.
02
Exercise Regularly
Regular exercise, even just a brisk 15-minute walk, can boost your mood by releasing endorphins. Try to get outside during daylight to counteract any seasonal affective symptoms or use our gym in the 4th floor!
04
Practice mindfulness and gratitude
Being grateful entails accepting what we already have and letting go of what we don't, which can help us feel better about ourselves Practicing gratitude can help shift focus from stressors to positives. Each day, write down three things you are grateful for.
06
Seek Professional Help if Needed
Don’t hesitate to reach out to a counselor or therapist if you feel overwhelmed. On and off campus resources are available for you!
