Move-out guide

It has been our honour to have been part of your academic journey, As you prepare to depart your Parkside home, we would like to wish you all success in your future endeavors. This guide is intended to help identify the steps and requirements to complete your stay and plan your move-out. Plan in advance for your move-out, do not leave it to the last day. Please be advised that the move-out process is expected to be completed on April 30th, 2022 by 12:00 pm noon at the latest.

1.PREPARE YOUR BEDROOM AND UNIT:

Your bedroom and unit must be completely empty, cleaned out and cleared of all personal belongings. Garbage must be disposed of appropriately using the garbage chute and oversize refuse items must be noted on a work order for removal by our team.

Don’t forget your bike! If you have a bike in our bike storage, please ensure to remove the bike and the lock. Parkside is not responsible for personal items left behind after move-out. Not removed personal items will be disposed of.

2.UNIT INSPECTION:

Management will inspect your unit with you at the time of move-out. Be sure to remove all garbage, personal furniture and belongings. To avoid charges your room must be clean and without damages. Please see page 2 for applicable charges.

3.KEYS + CARDS RETURN:

As you are ready to depart you must return your keys. These include the Access Card, Bedroom Key, Mailbox Key, Laundry card. Keys not returned at move-out will be assumed lost and a replacement charge will be required to be paid upon departure. Lost key payments will not be refunded if keys are returned at a later date.

ACCOUNTS:

Please ensure that you settle any outstanding balances prior to move-out. Please consult with the email correspondence sent about the state of your account. Should you want to further inquire about your account, please contact our Assistant General Manager at vchohan@studenthousing.com

MAIL AND PARCELS:

Upon departure, please ensure to collect all mail and parcel packages. Please make sure to change your mailing address with all of your contacts (family, friends, employers, banks, Amazon etc.) prior to your move out date. You can change your mailing address or redirect your mail online with Canada Post at: www.canadapost.ca Please note Parkside will not redirect or forward mail or parcel packages for any resident.

Resident Notice of Charge and Damage Prices

The following information is provided to assist you in your move-out and expedite your inspec tion proc ess and preveting additional c harges that c an be inc urred upon moving out. Please review your Resident Handbook regarding possible c harges for polic y violations, should any violations be found at move-out. 1. All belongings/possessions must be removed from the unit and it should be c leaned prior to Chec k-Out. 2. Be sure your full balanc e - all rent, meal plan and other c harges - are paid prior to your move out. 3. Turn in your key c ard, bedroom key, mail key aand laundry c ard upon move-out to the front offic e or assigned c hec k out station. 4. You are required to provide a Forwarding Address to Parkside Student Residenc e.

Below is a list of ESTIMATED CHARGES that may be assessed should c leaning/repairs/replac ements be required to prepare the unit/ bedroom for future oc c upany. These c harges are ESTIMATES AND AVERAGES, and may not inc lude spec ialized labour or parts. If any items are MISSING OR DAMAGED to the point that they must be replac ed, when you move out, you will be c harged for the c urrent c ost of the item, plus labour and servic e c harges. If Owner inc urs a higher c ost for replac ing an item, you will be responsible for paying the higher c ost. There may be additional c harges for damages, suc h as paint, deodorizer, etc ,. Any upholstery repair or c leaning of furniture may be c harged to the resident(s). Shared Common areas will be c harged and equally split to all unit residents. All the c harges below are subjec t to HST.
