Centennial Place has a safety protocol in place for every situation, here is one in the case of a fire:
There are two stages to a fire alarm - Stage 1 "Prepare to evacuate" and Stage 2 "Evacuate".
In stage 1, as the announcement says, you should prepare to evacuate, this means you should wake up and dress up!
If you were in the shower, get out and put on some clothes. If you were sleeping, wake up and be alert. If you were cooking turn off everything and get ready to leave.
In stage 2 you should evacuate the building calmly to the nearest assembling area
PS: DO NOT use the elevator when an alarm sounds since all elevators are grounded
KNOWYOURALARMS Emergencypreparednessstartswithyou! FIREALARM Phasestoknow.1. Prepare to evacuate. Dress up, pick only the essentials, and prepare to evacuate. 2. Evacuate immediately. RESIDENT RESIDENT RESIDENT
Theatre Arts and Performance
I like painting and baking and gaming. I don’t have many hobbies but those are my comfort things! I also play a lot of Dungeons and Dragons. I also really have a passion in exotic veterinarian work and may want to persue that in the future.
HOBBIES DREAM TRIP ADVICE TO RESIDENTS
I definitely plan to travel, especially being a director. My top spot for work and for vacation is Greece, but I really want to work in Japan and India too!
If I were to give advise to any other residents, I would say to get involved. I’ve always been super introverted and my social battery drains very easily. I’ve found that with my ESA (Emotional Support Animal), Nala, by taking her around campus to explore and also for other residents to bond with her and give me a reason to talk to other people made making friends a lot easier.
CENTENNIAL COMMUNITY ROLE MODEL
I feel more satisfied in my life at residence just by befriending a couple people and doing a bunch of the events and showing my support even in little ways. It’s helped my motivation and general life a lot better!
I’d say my little slogan is always, “Don’t stress too much, you always have another option.”
My role model generally at the moment is Imani, honestly. She’s always so happy and she’s an amazing person to be around. I aspire to be that comfort for other people at residence and a representation for the LGBTQ+ and the Indigenous community.
