Poor Midterms? Success Tips to Excellent Final Grades So midterm grades have been released and you’re disappointed. Things don’t look good and you fear you’re going to fail. It seems no matter the efforts you put in, you can’t keep your head up. You hate it here. You hate your program. You hate that classes are online. You’re losing it. Calm down! Breathe. Breathe. Breathe. It’s true your midterm grade is about 50% of your final grade, but it’s not an indicator of your final grade. You can still pass that course with more than a satisfactory grade. Here’s how.
Tip 1: Don’t beat yourself too hard. Sounds cliche, but it’s true. You’re doing great. You’re in college, studying online, far from home. Give yourself a pat on the back.
Tip 4: Check the course evaluation scheme and note the due dates for the remaining class activities, assignments and tests.
Tip 5:
Work at your new goal everyday. Make solid efforts and don’t miss turning in any assignment in time.
Tip 2:
Identify the course(s) you find difficult.
Tip 3:
Set a new goal. Decide what you want your final score in that course to be & deduct your midterm grade from the final grade you have set.
Pro-Tip At the beginning of every week, write out the assignments due for that week and assign a day to complete each assignment. Finally, relax. Enjoy your studies. Genuinely learn new concepts and enjoy the process.

HAPPY PANCAKE DAY!
BOXTY PANCAKES IRISH POTATO PANCAKES
PREP TIME 15 min
COOK TIME 30 min
TOTAL TIME 45 min
Ingredients: 1 1/2 cups grated raw potato, 2 potatoes or ½ lb, use starchy potatoes, like Russets 1 cup mashed potatoes, roughly 2 potatoes or ½ lb peeled, cooked, and mashed 1 cup all-purpose flour ½ teaspoon baking soda ½ teaspoon salt ¾ cup buttermilk 2 tbsp butter, (for frying)
Instructions: Wrap the grated potato in a cheesecloth or a tea towel and wring out as much excess moisture as you can. Place the dry grated potato in a large bowl and add the mashed potatoes. Mix well. Add the flour, baking soda, and salt. Add buttermilk and mix well, the batter will be thick. Heat a skillet over medium heat. When it is hot, add ½ tbsp of butter to the skillet and let it melt. Scoop the potato batter by ¼ cup and place it into the hot butter. Spread the batter out to roughly ¼ to ½ inch thick, making a round that is roughly 3 inches in diameter. Fill the pan with pancakes, being careful not to let them touch. Fry the pancakes over medium heat for 4-5 min on the first side. Flip the pancakes when they are golden brown. Cook them for 3-4 minutes on the second side, until golden. Serve with butter or jam. (Trust the process)
