ART AND DESIGN DONATION

We were incredibly fortunate to receive a very generous donation from a Canford parent which has allowed us to update and introduce new equipment to our Art and Design departments including:

• Stacked Combination Rolling Mill

• Epson Sure Colour Printer

• Spot Welder

• Bernina Sewing Machines

• Selection of DSLR Cameras and Lenses

• Expanded 3D Printing Facilities

• 3D Laser Scanner

• Plasma Cutter

• Product inspiration/Design history examples

• CNC Router Table

• Vertical Belt Sander

• General tooling update

• Artist in Residence and visiting speaker programme

This has made a tremendous difference to both departments and is enabling our pupils to develop their work further.

Dr Michael Toosey Awards

Dr Michael Toosey was a charismatic man who had very fond memories of his time at Canford. He was most generous in donating a significant sum of money in 2017 to enable Canfordians in receipt of a bursary to access all that Canford has to offer by providing additional financial assistance for activities that might be financially unobtainable.

Thanks to his donation, we have supported pupils in receipt of a bursary this year with a number of initiatives including specific assessments including UCAT, Duo interviews and training, and subsidised Summer Ball tickets.

Our gratitude continues and Dr Toosey’s legacy lives on.

Canford Telethon 2023

As part of our bi-annual programme calling alumni our 2023 Telethon will take place from 29th August to 12th September. Would you like to get involved? We will be recruiting recent OCs who are paid for their time and work remotely. OC callers really enjoy the opportunity to chat with alumni and parents and also develop new transferable skills for their CVs.
