Kink is a funny thing because it means so many things to different people. At its most basic level, it can be a sobriquet for anything taboo, and that’s largely what the mainstream (anecdotally speaking) sees kink as, primarily what people see or read about in Fifty Shades of Gray and other cultural touchstones. Technically, all forms of roleplay can be considered kink to some degree but I think the use of props or objects plays an important role when it comes to kink and fetish in particular, especially BDSM.
I like to think fetishes reside on a spectrum, or at the very least, a pyramid of subcategories one on top of the other, encapsulating a myriad of kinks, desires and fantasies. BDSM (bondage, domination, and sadomasochism) is what many associate with kink and fetish. At the base level, you have the primarily products of what makes up fetish category: your whips, your chains, your handcuffs, your blindfolds, your nipple clamps, and so forth (in this issue we have great articles on soft play and hard play that you should definitely check out).
Go one level above that and you have fetish products that are much more niche in terms of popularity but require some kind of specialized piece of equipment or device(s) to take part. These are your chastity cages, your sounding rods, your waterproof bedsheets, just to name a few. These products, while available in sex stores, consist of fetishes outside the typical mainstream (or in what this editor’s humble opinion the public isn’t as aware of). Chastity cages are largely worn by men where there’s a significant power dynamic at play, gay or straight. Waterproof bedsheets can be used for watersports or nuru play. Sounding rods, well, those speak for themselves once you know what they are.
That said, I like to think there’s a third category in there that uses everyday objects for fetish/kink outside of their intended purposes. Surgical gloves, enema bags, and various devices can be used for medplay; diapers, pacifiers, and baby clothes can be employed for DDLG and various age-regression kinks.
My point being is that kink in large part is what you make of it, as we’ll see in the myriad of articles in this final 2024 issue of Pulse Magazine, as well as a profile on BodiSpi B2b, anorgasmia and tips on how to give a great blowjob.

Asian Adult Expo Concludes Another Successful Expo
KING, CH – The three-day Asian Adult Expo (AAE) officially concluded on August 29, 2024. A total of professional buyers from 60 countries and regions registered, with more than 4,500 people, and people from all over the world bravely participated in the event.
There were more than 300 companies and brands participating in this exhibition, and exhibitors from France, Japan, Malaysia, Spain, Thailand and Turkey have come from afar to bring more innovative exhibits to the industry. Court Rules LELO Provided Incorrect and Misleading Information in Ongoing Patent Dispute in Satisfyer Case
GERMANY – On September 9, 2024, in preliminary injunction proceedings, the District Court of Hildesheim ruled in favour of EIS, confirming that LELO had included incorrect and misleading statements in a press release about the status of the infringement proceedings against LELO products.
As reported previously, on July 25, 2024, the Düsseldorf District Court ruled that the LELO’s products - Sona, Sila, and Enigma - violate the patents of EIS GmbH. As a result, LELO is required to cease distributing the infringing products within the court’s jurisdiction, provide EIS with information about all distributed products and its recipients, and pay damages for the distribution of patent-infringing products. Previously,
on October 18, 2022, the European Patent Office had rejected the opposition filed by LELO Europe GmbH against EIS’s patent. LELO has appealed both the decision of the European Patent Office and the Düsseldorf District Court.
Ignoring the status of the proceedings, in a press release LELO provided incorrect and misleading statements, including the following:
“Importantly, the German court did not review the patent with regard to its validity; LELO will challenge the patent on these grounds shortly.”
“Accordingly, LELO customers and clients outside of Germany will not be impacted by this ruling in any manner whatsoever.” In regard to the incorrect statements, firstly on October 18,
2022, the European Patent Office Opposition Division confirmed the validity of the patent EP ‘297 in question. Secondly, it is not unlikely that the courts in other jurisdictions will follow the German court ruling; LELO had not brought forward any counter-argument for this.
LELO has the right to file an immediate appeal against the Hildesheim court’s preliminary injunction.

Anorgasmia may sound like a word pulled out of thin air but for those who have this dreadful condition, it is anything but made up. Anorgasmia is simply defined as infrequent, delayed, less intense or the inability to orgasm. For those who don’t suffer from this condition, it may be hard to imagine or understand what this is like. Imagine, being with your lover, intimately for 20 minutes and not reaching orgasm. TELL US A BIT ABOUT THE HISTORY OF BODISPA. HOW DID THE COMPANY GET STARTED?
Bodispa’s story first began back in the 80s when our CEO and founder, Alain Elmaleh, seized the unique opportunity of selling adult films out of the back of his van to various video retailers across Canada. Armed with a background in business and a passion for entrepreneurship, Alain quickly discovered the untapped potential of the Canadian pleasure product industry, consequently leading him to embark on a 40-year long journey to build his own retail empire.

No. However, I do believe that making these products more accessible to the general public is important. It’s really a bit of a double-edged sword. On one hand, having big-name retailers carry intimate products helps de-stigmatize the industry and increase visibility, which has certainly benefited both Nobü and our wholesale division. In fact, select Nobü products are available at Rexall pharmacies across Canada, which has significantly boosted brand recognition and customer familiarity.
On the other hand, one of the biggest challenges that Canadian retailers face is that boutique pricing often cannot compete with large-scale retailers. That’s why adhering to MAP pricing is crucial. As long as brands maintain a firm stance on pricing when collaborating with major retailers, there’s room for everyone to succeed. The situation only becomes problematic when brands offer special discounts to big-name retailers that boutiques simply can’t match. That is why maintaining fair pricing across the board is key to ensuring a healthy balance between accessibility while still supporting smaller, specialized shops.
WHAT ARE YOUR BEST-SELLING PRODUCT LINES AND CATEGORIES?
