THE VIEUX PORT 8 MAJOR AREAS

A historic site of the Cannes Yachting Festival, the Vieux Port is organised around 8 large geographical areas, on which 592 new boats of all sizes, sail or motor, monohull or multihull are exhibited by the major French and international shipyards. The Vieux Port also presents the latest new products from equipment manufacturers, engine manufacturers and service companies.

The Luxury Gallery, an area dedicated to luxury, crafts and lifestyle, is located inside the Palais des Festivals. This prestigious area is dedicated exclusively to the key players in luxury goods in the fields of watchmaking, jewellery, fashion and accessories, art, furniture, contemporary design, decoration, tableware, household linen, leisure and hospitality, luxury property, private aviation, high-tech products, high added-value services, etc. Both famous or more exclusive brands come to meet affluent visitors who enjoy exceptional products and services, to showcase their know-how and new products. The Luxury Gallery also hosts the Yachting CafĂŠ by Dalloyau.

Cannes Yachting Festival

Divided into two distinct areas, the outdoor area of the Palais hosts the Tender area with a display of elegant day-boats and, inside, a selection of shipyards, designers, nautical equipment manufacturers and maritime service companies. The VIP Club and Panoramic restaurant, whose menu signed by the gastronomy house Maison Dalloyau, is located on the roof of the Palais and can be reached by the JetĂŠe. The restaurant is open to all visitors and exhibitors and offers a breathtaking view of the Vieux Port and the yachts on display, as well as the Croisette and the Bay of Cannes.

7/28

THE VIEUX PORT

The Jetée mainly presents motorised vessels that are 20 to 40 metres long. The docks house reception areas for the shipmakers, engine manufactures, service companies and marinas. A real technical feat as it is built on three floating barges, the Super Yachts Extension gathers together around thirty of the biggest motor and sailing yachts, from 25 to 48 metres, displayed in the Vieux Port. It also hosts the in-water part of the Tender area on the Traversante, a floating pontoon connecting the two sides of the Vieux Port, the central part of which opens to let out the boats for sea trials. The Traversante is motorised by Suzuki, partner of the Cannes Yachting Festival. The Quai Max Laubeuf welcomes, in water, a variety of sailing boats from 10 to 20 metres and motor boats from 10 to 23 metres, as well as several small motor boats (8 to 12 metres) displayed on land. And the RIB Village with 50 inflatable and semi-rigid boats exhibited in water.

Cannes Yachting Festival

The Quai Saint Pierre is a “mixed” area, below the Suquet, which hosts motor boats ranging from 12 to 20 metres as well as the biggest sailing boats of the show; superb boats ranging from 15 to 25 metres. The Pantiero, the geographical heart of the show, hosts the Equipment village and numerous service companies. Visitors can see motor boats from 11 to 23 metres in the water, as well as open deck, sport fishing and fly-bridge boats. United within a marina, around 40 sailing or motor multihulls, ranging from 10 to 25 metres, are displayed by the most famous French and international shipyards and represent the biggest collection of cabin multihulls in the world.

8/28

THE PORT CANTO

Traditionally the cradle of the Brokerage Space (second-hand yachts) of the Cannes Yachting Festival, Port Canto, the second major port of Cannes, located at the other end of the famous Croisette, now receives the “Toys” Sector on its quays. Accessible by the sea in only 7 minutes aboard a sea shuttle, an opportunity for a beautiful crossing in the bay of Cannes, or by land by bus (via line 8), Port Canto is thus expanding its offer. As every year, the biggest French and international players in the market of used luxury yachts are gathered in Port Canto and present around fifty boats of at least 22 metres long, both sailing and motor boats. These jewels of the seas, extremely well maintained by their crew, are displayed for the delight of visitors and future renters or owners. The brokers present provide their expert advice and accompany the visitors in their decision-making to make their navigation dream come true in the best possible conditions. These second-hand yachts are often immediately available for sale.

Cannes Yachting Festival

Rental or charter is sometimes an intermediate step before buying a boat. Renting one of these large yachts is also the guarantee of a unique luxury travel experience with family or friends. The main types of large yachts available on the market are presented at Port Canto. NEW

The brokers will be sharing the quays of Port Canto with a new space dedicated to «Toys». A growing sector, “Toys” for the young and the not so young have become must-have equipment on yachts and are great fun and thrilling for those who use them! Jetboards, longboards, jetskis and much more can be seen. At the Vieux Port, there are several departure points for sea shuttles: - t he VIP pontoon for VIP shuttles reserved for Riviera and VIP card holders, exhibitors and journalists - t he pontoon behind the Maserati stand, the “brokers” pontoon on the Super Yacht Extension and a departure point on Quai Max Laubeuf for the “Canto Taxi” shuttles - t he end of the Super Yacht Extension for the “big shuttles” At Port Canto, there is one departure point for all shuttles located at the outer end of the port. See detailed map on page 7.

This year again, more than 620 boats will be brought together, including 230 new products of which 130 are world launches.

THE CONCOURS D’ÉLÉGANCE

A

n ultra-glamorous moment of the Cannes Yachting Festival, the fourth edition of the Concours d’Elégance will be held on Saturday 15 September at 4 pm. This event, with simple and free registration, is open to owners and collectors of motorboats and day boats of less than 12 metres in length. The Concours d’Elégance will take place in the bay of Cannes, in the historic setting of the Vieux Port, near the main entrance at the festival beach. It is an opportunity for visitors of the show to admire from the beach a nautical parade of vintage (before 1980) and modern (after 1980) day boats as well as their elegant crews, and to pay tribute to the rich history of yachting in the heart of the Riviera. All visitors of the Cannes Yachting Festival are invited to attend the parade from the beach of the Festival that is open to everyone.

Cannes Yachting Festival

A terrace located on the beach will be reserved for VIP spectators during the Concours d’Élégance to ensure them an unbeatable view of the parade and provide them with privileged services. The jury, composed of yachting enthusiasts and professionals, takes into account the following criteria: - for old boats: the state of conservation, the quality of the restoration, the history and the scarcity of the boat; - for modern boats: the originality of the model, its design and its technological innovations. For all categories, the elegance of the crew and the quality of the parade will also be taken into consideration. After the parade, participants, partners, journalists and spectators will be invited to the awards ceremony, which will start at 5:00 pm on the Festival beach.

CANNES YACHTING FESTIVAL SUPPORTS THE FRENCH NATIONAL SOCIETY FOR SEA RESCUE (SNSM) WITH A SOLIDARITY ENTRY TICKET

The French National Society for Sea Rescue / Société Nationale de Sauvetage en Mer (SNSM) is an officially recognised non-profit organisation. For more than a century, its vocation has been to save lives at risk at sea and on the coast on a purely volunteer basis.

For its 2018 edition, the Cannes Yachting Festival is going even further by strengthening its support in enabling all of its 50,000 expected visitors to donate €1, €2 or €5 when they purchase their entry ticket on the website of the event, if they so wish.

As everyone knows: a human life is priceless but saving one actually costs money!

Sylvie Ernoult, Director of the Cannes Yachting Festival, has also made a commitment to double the amount of donations collected through the ticket office and to give a cheque in the corresponding amount to the representatives of the SNSM in Cannes during the next edition of the Festival.

For several years the Cannes Yachting Festival, the biggest in-water boat show in Europe, has had the pleasure of welcoming the SNSM by making a stand available to their Cannes branch right in the heart of the Festival.

M

Modena, in the heart of the Motor Valley, is the veritable epicentre of the Italian car manufacturing tradition. From the exquisite notes of its cuisine, to those echoing with the powerful voices of its masters of classical music, this corner of southern Europe has distinguished itself as a cradle of unparalleled style, creativity and ingenuity. When the Maserati brothers opened the Officine Alfieri Maserati, they hardly could have imagined the impact they would have on the world. Alfieri, Ettore, Ernesto and Bindo: brothers united by a love and an unrelenting passion for precision engineering, speed and innovation. Their vision, enthusiasm and expertise turned out to be the cornerstones of what would one day become a global brand, universally recognised as a symbol of motoring excellence which developed two unique souls over time: the luxurious and the sporty.

Today, Maserati delivers both, to the highest degree, ensuring all the brand’s knowledge and taste is distilled in each and every one of its creations, Quattroporte, Levante, Ghibli, GranTurismo and GranCabrio. All the brand’s offerings feature the unique and distinctive Maserati touch. While others follow, Maserati is comfortable experimenting, challenging itself, roaring at high speed through uncharted territories. And this shows, in the brand’s products and in its history. From Maserati’s legendary Maria Teresa De Filippis, the first pioneering female F1 driver, to its uncompromising blend of luxury and sportiness. There’s the ordinary, predictable world of car manufacturing and design. At its polar opposite, Maserati thrives, challenges and inspires, building luxury performance automobiles with timeless Italian style, accommodating bespoke interiors, and effortless, signature sounding power. drenaline, innovation and continuously pushing the limits in a fight with natural elements are as much a part of sailing as tradition, aesthetics and pure enjoyment. Extremes attract – sailing and sailing clothing attract. Marinepool will once again stand out at the leading exhibition, “Cannes Yachting Festival“ presenting its new collections ranging from maritime lifestyle, fashionable and functional tech- fashion to intelligent crew wear! For the Munich based label Marinepool, sailing is more than just a logo added to a jacket to follow the contemporary trend of the so-called «Premium Casual Styles».

As the result of more than 27 years of experience and expertise in the area of high-functional sailing clothing, Marinepool crew wear collections are the authentic equivalent to technical clothing. Marinepool embodies sailing in every single detail: elaborately embroidered letterings and logos tell the story of active long-term partnerships and Marinepool’s rich history in sailing.
