Q

ue d’émotions ! Quand j’ai lancé le Festival de la navigation de plaisance à la fin des années 70, j’étais loin d’imaginer ce qu’il deviendrait quarante ans plus tard et quelle belle histoire serait construite. Je suis heureuse et honorée d’être associée à cette édition « anniversaire » et d’être le témoin privilégié du chemin parcouru et du travail accompli.

So many emotions! When I launched the “Festival de la navigation de plaisance” at the end of the 1970s, little did I imagine what it would become forty years later – and what a wonderful adventure it would be. I am delighted and honoured to be associated with this “anniversary” edition of the Cannes Yachting Festival and to be the privileged witness of the progress made and the work accomplished.

L’histoire a commencé sur le quai Max Laubeuf avec seulement une trentaine de bateaux neufs et une dizaine d’exposants dont certains sont encore là aujourd’hui ! Je pense notamment à Euromed, Villanova, Arie de Boom et je les remercie pour cette fidélité sans faille.

It all began on the quai Max Laubeuf with just some thirty new boats and a dozen exhibitors, some of whom are still here today! I am thinking more particularly of Euromed, Villanova, Arie de Boom and I wish to thank them for their unwavering loyalty.

Le projet a débuté à la demande de la mairie de Cannes qui souhaitait la tenue d’un salon nautique dédié aux bateaux neufs et avec le soutien de la CCI. Le salon s’est développé peu à peu avec beaucoup de passion, de travail et de force de persuasion pour y faire venir les grands chantiers français et italiens, tout d’abord, puis ceux du monde entier.

The project began following a request by the Mairie of Cannes which wanted to host a nautical event dedicated to new boats and supported by the CCI. Little by little, the boat show developed with plenty of passion, work and persuasion to ensure that the leading French and Italian shipyards, first of all, and then shipyards from all over the world would attend.

Une étape extrêmement importante a, bien sûr, été le rachat en 1998 par Reed qui a permis, grâce à de nouveaux moyens tant humains que financiers et techniques et la mise en place d’une nouvelle organisation, d’accroître considérablement le rayonnement international du Festival.

Of course one extremely important moment was the acquisition by Reed in 1998 which, with new financial and technical and human resources and the deployment of a new organisation, enabled the international dimension of the Festival to grow considerably.

Many things have changed and new features have been launched since I passed on the torch. Amongst the most notable are the opening of the Palais to host new brands, the creation in 2004 of the Super Yachts Extension to moor the largest yachts, the installation in 2005 of the Traversante to facilitate the visit to the show and connect the two sides of the Vieux Port, the inauguration in 2006 of the Brokerage & Charter area in Port Pierre Canto and, since last year, the Luxury Gallery, the new showcase for exploring the exceptional worlds of luxury homes, crafts and the art of living.

Les nouveautés et lancements ont été nombreux depuis que j’ai passé le flambeau. Parmi les plus marquants, il y a bien sûr l’ouverture du Palais pour accueillir de nouvelles marques, la création en 2004 de la Super Yachts Extension pour amarrer de plus grands yachts, l’installation en 2005 de la Traversante pour faciliter la visite du salon et relier les deux côtés du Vieux Port, l’inauguration en 2006 de l’espace Brokerage & Charter au Port Pierre Canto et depuis l’année dernière la Luxury Gallery, nouvel écrin pour découvrir les univers d’exception des maisons de luxe, d’artisanat et d’art de vivre.

En moins de vingt ans, le Yachting Festival a connu une croissance exponentielle et s’est hissé au rang de numéro un européen en devenant un rendez-vous incontournable, tant pour les professionnels de la plaisance que pour les passionnés de la mer.

In less than twenty years, the Cannes Yachting Festival has experienced exponential growth, making it the European leader and becoming an unmissable event for boating professionals and enthusiasts alike and all lovers of the sea.

LUXURY, GLAMOUR AND GEMS OF THE SEAS Fidèle à sa réputation de premier salon nautique à flot d’Europe, le Yachting Festival accueillera, à l’occasion de son 40e anniversaire, près de 600 bateaux du 12 au 17 septembre 2017 dans les deux ports de Cannes : le Vieux Port et le Port Pierre Canto.

True to its reputation as Europe’s leading in-water boat show, the Cannes Yachting Festival, on its 40th anniversary, will be hosting nearly 600 boats from 12th to 17th September 2017 in the two ports of Cannes: the Vieux Port and the Port Pierre Canto.

Yachts, superyachts, sailing boats, multihulls, small motorboats... Around one hundred boats will make their world premiere and admired by more than 50,000 visitors from all over the globe.

BROKERAGE & CHARTER PORT PIERRE CANTO Depuis plus de 10 ans, l’Espace Brokerage & Charter du Yachting Festival est installé sur les quais du Port Pierre Canto à l’autre extrémité de la célèbre Croisette et accessible en seulement 7 minutes par la mer depuis le Vieux Port par navette ou taxi maritime. Le Port Pierre Canto accueille les acteurs du marché des yachts d’occasion à voile ou à moteur mesurant au minimum 22 mètres de long.

For more than 10 years, the Brokerage & Charter Area of the Cannes Yachting Festival has been installed on the docks of the Port Pierre Canto on the other end of the famous Croisette and is reachable in just 7 minutes from the Vieux Port by sea taxi or shuttle. The Port Pierre Canto hosts the secondhand sailing and motor yachts at of least 22 metres long.

e Yachting Festival organise la troisième édition du Concours d’Elégance le jeudi 14 septembre 2017 à 17 heures.

The Cannes Yachting Festival is organising the third edition of the Concours d’Elégance on Thursday 14th September 2017 at 5pm.

Réservé aux exposants du salon, aux propriétaires ou aux collectionneurs de canots automobiles et day-boats de moins de 12 mètres, le Concours d’Elégance aura lieu dans le cadre historique du Vieux Port de Cannes, aux abords du ponton VIP et de la plage du Festival.

Reserved for show exhibitors, owners or collectors of motorboats and day boats of less than 12 metres, the Concours d’Elégance will take place in the historic setting of the Vieux Port of Cannes, near the VIP pontoon and the Festival beach.

Cet événement ouvert à tous les visiteurs sera l’occasion de découvrir un défilé de day-boats vintages et modernes et de rendre hommage à la riche histoire de la plaisance au coeur de la Riviera.

Une terrasse située sur la plage sera dédiée aux spectateurs VIP pendant le Concours d’Elégance pour leur assurer une vue imprenable sur le défilé et leur réserver des services privilégiés.

Les bateaux sont barrés par des équipages élégants et défilent devant les visiteurs, journalistes, professionnels, amateurs et surtout devant un jury d’experts.

Le jury prendra en compte la qualité de la restauration et du design du bateau, son état de conservation et son histoire, la rareté du modèle, l’élégance de l’équipage et la qualité du défilé.

This showcase accessible to all visitors will be an opportunity to discover a parade of vintage and modern day-boats and to pay tribute to the rich history of sailing boats in the heart of the Riviera.

A terrace on the beach will be dedicated to the VIP spectators during the Concours d’Elégance to ensure them an panoramic view on the parade and to provide them with privileged services.

The boats are steered by elegant crews and parade in front of the visitors, journalists, professionals, amateurs and a jury of experts.

The jury takes the following aspects into consideration: the quality of the restoration and design of the boat, its state of conservation and its history, the rarity of the model, the elegance of the crew and the quality of the parade.

Après le défilé, la cérémonie de remise des prix se tiendra au Club VIP du Yachting Festival. Un grand nombre de récompenses sera remis par les partenaires.

Following the parade, the awards ceremony will be held at the VIP Club of the Cannes Yachting Festival. A large number of awards will be presented by the partners.

Les bateaux, dans la limite de 20, seront divisés en deux catégories, chacune recevant un prix : - Bateaux construits avant 1980, - Bateaux construits après 1980.

The first cruiser developed under the supervision of Beneteau’s marketing director, Gianguido Girotti, epitomises the exuberant energy of a new generation! M/Y “Elsea” marks the debuts of CCN in the fully custom production of unique motor yachts. This ambitious project has been penciled by design firm Studio Bacigalupo, while the interiors are by Studio Vafiadis. Le nouveau GS 52LC reprend la philosophie du GS 46LC qui fut lancé en 2015 et a remporté un franc succès avec presque 50 coques vendues. Cantiere del Pardo a donc décidé de renouveler l’expérience en construisant un nouveau LC, plus grand.

Le nouveau Long Cruise 52 est né d’une collaboration entre l’architecte naval Marco Lostuzzi et la société Nauta design qui s’est occupée des intérieurs et extérieurs. Les principales caractéristiques du GS 52LC sont : le confort, l’entretien facile, la navigation avec équipage réduit, de grands volumes et de nombreux espaces ouverts avec bain de soleil et zone de détente. The new GS 52LC continues the philosophy of the GS 46LC which was launched in 2015 and thanks to its success with almost 50 sold hulls, Cantiere del Pardo has decided to construct a new LC in a bigger size.

HERON YACHT HERON 56 Le « Heron », baptisé ainsi en référence à l'oiseau majestueux du même nom, est un bateau de 56 pieds doté d'un design captivant conçu par l'architecte Massimo Picco (Picco Yacht Design).

Ce designer est particulièrement renommé dans le secteur de la navigation, où une grande attention doit être portée à l'étude des forces hydrodynamiques s'exerçant sur les fonds, qui doivent obligatoirement être efficaces avec la seule poussée du vent.

Son soubassement est le résultat de recherches approfondies, s'appuyant sur l'analyse des écoulements hydrodynamiques des lignes d'eau et des simulations. Le Heron a ainsi pu être construit sans le moindre doute ou risque quant aux performances de cette partie de l'appareil.

“Heron” like the majestic bird, a 56-footer with a captivating design developed by Architect Massimo Picco (Picco Yacht Design), a designer of renowned international experience, especially in the sailing sector, which perhaps requires more attention in the study of hydrodynamic forces applied to bottoms that must be necessarily effective with just the wind thrust.

The underbody is the result of in-depth research which developed through the analysis of hydrodynamic flows of the water lines and the subsequent simulation, which made it possible to build the Heron with absolutely no doubt and no risks in terms of performance levels of the underbody.

Design & performance for the three Honda outboard motors: BF4 - BF5 - BF6 Equipped with the latest Honda innovations – a unique decompression system for a perfect start and new rubber supports... – they combine reliability and safety. These new motors provide powerful and constant acceleration thanks to a cylinder size of 127 cc. They are equipped with a large capacity tank (1.5 l). Fitted with an oil alert system, sudden pressure drops can be anticipated and the engine is then programmed not to exceed 2,300 rpm to protect the engine.

Finally, the new BF4, BF5 and BF6 engines are among the lightest in their class (from 27 kg).

SCANNER MARINE INO 310 S JET La gamme Tender s'étoffe avec le lancement du Scanner Ino 310 S JET. WIMBI BOATS W7I Nous sommes fiers d’annoncer le lancement du W7i qui sera présenté en avant-première mondiale au Yachting Festival de Cannes. Après la sortie du W6 en 2016, Wimbi Boats inaugure sa gamme de semi-rigides avec des longueurs de coques inférieures à 7 mètres qui se déclinera aussi en version hors-bord (W7) mais qui disposent d’une taille hors tout de près de 8 mètres.

Cette unité se veut dans l’esprit d’un mini-yacht. Le pari était de réussir à proposer sur une petite taille une large plage de bain arrière, un bain de soleil ainsi qu’une plateforme d’accès à la mer. Sa taille permet d’être ainsi autonome et de bénéficier de presque autant d’options et de confort qu’un W9i.

We are proud to announce the launch of the W7i, which will have its world premiere at the Cannes Yachting Festival. After the launch of the W6 in 2016, Wimbi Boats is inaugurating its range of RIBs with hull lengths of less than 7 metres which will also be available in an outboard (W7) version but with an overall length of nearly 8 metres.
