International Women’s Day Breakfast
Jane O’Reilly was the guest speaker at the Canungra Chamber of Commer international Women’s Day Breakfast held at O’Reilly’s Canungra Valley Vineyards. Jane kept the crowd of over 100 women enthralled as she told the story of the women (and men) who have created the O’Reilly’s brand today. The O’Reilly family has always had tenacious, tough women behind what was a guesthouse in the early days and later became the retreat that is world famous today. As Jane recounted the history of the guesthouse, the audience marvelled at the hard work the O’Reilly women put into the venture, particularly in the very early years. Many of the women shared traits that seemed to be carried from generation to generation - resiliant, headstrong and practical women who supported the busines through hard work and tenacity. Today the third generation of O’Reilly family are heavily involved in the management and running of the business, with Shane O’Reilly the Managing Director. Jane said O’Reilly’s continues to be a family run concern with the fourth generation starting to work in a variety of areas within the business.
