As the significant air traffic growth of Asia Pacific region, this conference provides very valuable opportunity where we will share and discuss the variety issues/situations of Air Navigation Service in Asia Pacific region, to realise seamless ATM. 1. Introduction The CANSO Asia pacific Conference 2015 will be held at Fukuoka, Japan from 6 ‐ 9 May 2015. The event is organised by the Civil Air Navigation Services Organisation (CANSO) and is hosted by Japan Civil Aviation Bureau (JCAB). The theme of this year’s conference is “Towards Seamless Sky in the Asia Pacific – Building Capabilities, Partnering for Success”.

3. Registration Registration needs to be performed online, prior to the start of the conference. We advise you to do so early. Kindly use the following link to access the registration page at the CANSO website: https://www.canso.org/apacconference2015#tabs‐3 Registered delegates may collect their conference package from the information desk at the Welcome Reception jointly hosted by CANSO and JCAB that would be held on 6th May from 7.00 p.m. to 9.00 p.m. at the conference venue. A) Conference and Meetings Nikko Fukuoka Hotel will be main venue for the conference and relevant meetings/events. It is located in front of Hakata Station, so the delegates can come in 3 minutes on foot from the station through the underpass. Hotel Nikko Fukuoka

The conference dinner will be hosted by JCAB at Hotel Agora Fukuoka Hilltop. JCAB will be providing transportation from conference venue and back. Assembly point and departure time will be notified during conference. C) Technical Tour The technical tour has been organised for the delegates to offer an opportunity to visit ATM center where ATFM, ASM and Oceanic ATS are provided. The tour will start from 9:00am at Nikko Hotel and return after lunch. NB:

ANSP's/CAA's/ICAO/IATA/and ACI D) Cultural Tour Following the technical tour, the delegates can visit Dazaifu historical area, where Dazaifu Tenmangu Shrine is very popular with a lot of visitors praying for success in exams and academic achievement. The tour will depart on 2:00pm at lunch venue, and then back to Nikko hotel around 5:00pm. 6
5. Accommodation As there are lots of hotels near the conference venue, JCAB negotiated the special rates for CANSO the delegates with following hotels from a point of view of convenience. 6. Arrival in Fukuoka for the conference After arriving at Fukuoka airport, the delegates are advised to go to the CANSO reception desks set in arrival floor at both domestic and international terminals, where staff are available to guide delegates to obtain necessary information including hotel transfer, cash exchange, and mobile WiFi. 7. Travel Arrangements Visitors from some States require a Visa for entering Japan. 8. Customs regulations Delegates are required to perform certain Customs procedures which are an important part of entry into and departure from the country. Restricted articles: 1. Hunting guns, air guns, swords, etc. 2. Internationally protected endangered animals, plants, or their products. (crocodiles, cobras, turtles, ivory, musk, cactus, etc.) 3. Live animals and plants, meat products (including sausage etc), vegetables, fruits, rice etc. (Quarantine inspection is required prior to Customs inspection.) Prohibited articles: 1. Narcotic drugs, stimulants, marijuana, psychotropic substances, MDMA etc. 2. Firearms such as pistols, revolvers and machine guns, and bullets or parts thereof. 3. Explosives, gunpowder, materials for chemical weapons, germs such as anthrax, etc. 4. Counterfeit, altered or imitated coins, bank notes or securities, and forged credit cards. 5. Obscene or immoral materials and child pornography. 6. Articles which infringe upon intellectual property rights. (patent, utility model,design, trademark, copyright, neighboring right, etc.) Duty‐Free Allowance:

Cigarettes: 200 Japan‐made cigarettes and 200 foreign‐made cigarettes. (A non‐resident traveler is allowed twice of above allowances.)

The official currency in Japan is the yen(¥) and Credit cards such as JCB, VISA,

MASTER, AMEX are widely used however many small shops and taxi’s don’t except credit cards. Delegates are therefore strongly advised to bring cash money with them.

National language is Japanese. Rudimentary English is widely understood.

The Japanese Standard Time is UTC + 9:00
Weather
May is one of the best seasons for visiting Japan, as the vegetation has become lush. The climate is sunny and comfortable, and average temperature is expected as 24C(75F) to 15C(59F).
Electricity
The voltage used throughout Japan is uniformly 100 volts, A.C. There are two kinds of frequencies in use; 50 Hertz in eastern Japan (including Tokyo) and 60 Hertz in western Japan (including Nagoya, Kyoto and Osaka, Fukuoka).

10. Special Attention The end of April through around May 5th is called “Golden Week” in Japan, since there are many national holidays during this period. People take a vacation and travel around the country or abroad, so tourist attractions in Japan are crowded during this time. Also it is hard to get reservations for accommodations and transportation during Golden Week, early reservation is highly recommended. 9
