The Growl It’s the start of a new school year and that means the halls are filled with excitement and positive energy. As Canterbury’s new head of school, it is an honor to be a part of a community that seeks to provide a kind and welcoming environment to all who enter Canterbury’s doors. For the last 50 years, Canterbury has built a strong, solid foundation. Our school has not wavered from its commitment to ensuring that our students receive the best academics and co-curriculars in the area. As Fort Myers only true college preparatory school, it is our job as faculty, staff and administrators to ensure that our students are in an environment that mirrors what Rick Kirschner, Head of School it means to be a great “prep” school. This includes: a strong honor code, strong academics, strong co-curriculars and strong relationships. Our goal is to build upon the strong student-centered culture that exists at Canterbury and improve upon it. I see an excellent wave of good energy building at Canterbury. Lets ride that wave together as we prepare for a new school year. “Energy begets energy, and goodwill begets goodwill.”

Alumni Spotlight
Class of 1995 Celebrates 20 Years The Class of 1995 celebrated their 20th reunion this year! To commemorate the occasion, alumni met in Tampa for a fun-filled weekend August 7-9. Many had not seen each other for 20 years and picked up the friendship in an even better place than before. It is important to stay connected and reconnect with the people who knew you when you were younger. They spent the weekend laughing, looking at old yearbooks, reminiscing about their Canterbury days and sharing life stories. Sarah Tompkins, who flew in from California for the weekend, and who attended the 10 year reunion, remarked that 10 years was too long to wait for a reunion! Thus, the idea was brought forth for more frequent decade reunions to include even more classes. If you are interested in planning your own reunion or a “years” reunion, please contact Lea Pascotto ’95, Director of Alumni Relations at alumni@canterburyfortmyers. org or (239) 481-4323.
