Get a handle on the second most important ROI, the Return on Intern

EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE

What’s the ROI on an internship program at your business? For $50 and four hours of your time, you can find out. Once again, the Canton Regional Chamber of Commerce will host a workshop titled, “Maximizing Your ROI — Return on Intern,” conducted by the Northeast Ohio Council on Higher Education (NOCHE), which has years of experience in developing internship programs. Co-sponsor of the local event is Kent State University at Stark.

“Maximizing Your ROI” would be particularly helpful to small businesses that see the benefits of internships but do not have a human resources department to develop an internship program.

Chairman of the Board - George W. Lemon Retired President, Technical Products Group

Local colleges and universities that recruit companies to provide internships may also wish to attend or bring business partners with them.

Vice Chairman - Kevin Kampman The Repository

The workshop is intended for any Northeast Ohio employer interested in starting an internship program or improving an existing program. Internships help develop the next generation of talent in a business sector, and internships also are excellent ways to evaluate specific future employees.

The NOCHE workshop will be in the Community Room of the Canton Regional Chamber, 8:30 a.m. to noon on Tuesday, Aug. 30. Registration opens at 8 that morning. To register, go to www.noche.org/124. For questions concerning the program, call Brenda Davis Smith at NOCHE, (216) 420-9200, ext. 223, or contact her at bdavissmith@noche.org.
