Stop the Tolling group offering video proof ernment officials, members of the local Chambers of Commerce, and local first responders are scheduled to speak. In addition, candidates for federal and state office have been invited to speak to an audience of local media and members of our communities who will be affected by the tolling, which will negatively

impact our area economically as well as place a strain and burden on our first responders and infrastructure. The committee’s goal is to build awareness of these issues and present video evidence of the problems that will be created by the diversion route through our towns.

PRECISION IMAGERY worked with the Stop the Tolling of I-80 task force to create a video that illustrates the issues that will be created if trucks decide to use Route 940 through White Haven and East Side to avoid the proposed toll on the Route 80 bridge. White Haven and East Side Boroughs, in partnership with Luzerne County, will host a Stop the Tolling of I-80 meeting this Thursday, March 31, from 6-8 p.m. at St Pat-

rick’s Parish Center, located at 411 Allegheny St., White Haven. This is an intergovernmental event to discuss the adverse impact the tolling

of the I-80 bridge over the Lehigh River on the border of Luzerne and Carbon Counties will have on our communities and much of the surrounding area. Local and county gov-

Kidder Township Manager Suzanne Brooks has been told by the PA Department of Transportation that the repairs to the washout on River Road east of White Haven are to begin on April 4. Brooks announced this at the Kidder supervisors meeting March 22. Meanwhile, crews are already in place, meanwhile, to begin work on the replacement of the PA Turnpike bridges over Route 534 and Mud Run. The Township is being asked to change zoning on a 300 acre parcel along Route 940 which abuts Interstate 80, from the current R2

(residential) to Commercial. The parcel, owned by Blue Ridge Real Estate, is west of Moseywood Road, and extends to the new Exeter Group warehouse property. Supervisors sent the proposal to the township and county Planning Commissions. The proposal will reappear before supervisors after those groups review it. Regarding the Exeter warehouse, the building is projected to be complete in early July. Engineer Chris McDermott spoke to supervisors on accommodating a request by a See KIDDER, page 3
