Members of the Weatherly Area School Board were surprised to learn that District Business Manager and School Board Secretary Dominic Bellucci Jr. will be leaving for a new job in late May. The news came during the Board’s caucus meeting on April 6. Bellucci was hired this past June. In other personnel decisions, Dr. Katie Leach was approved as a Homebound Instruction teacher for an 11th grade student through the 2021-2022 school year (the work started in March). Caitlin Sheehan was approved for an unpaid leave of absence beginning March. Cleaning employee Shane Coll resigned as of March 16. Superintendent Daniel Malloy recommended the Board approve the agreement between the Carbon Lehigh Intermediate Unit #21 and the Weatherly Area School District for Special Education Services during the 2022-2023 school year. He recommended the Board approve the second reading of revised policies for finances — Purchases Subject to Bid/Quotation; Purchases Budgeted;
Nick Belucci resigns The Weatherly Area School Board learned at their caucus meeting last week that Business Manager and WASB Board Secretary Dominic (Nick) Bellucci Jr. will be moving on to a new business manager position closer to his home. His last day of employment at Weatherly Area will be Friday, May 20.
Bellucci has been hired at the Reading Muhlenberg Career and Technology Center in the city of Reading. He starts the work on May 23. The RMCTC serves over 1200 students, and has a budget of over $11.3 million. “I totally enjoyed my stay here,” Bellucci shared in a telephone interview. “The staff and board (here) are phenomenal” and he enjoyed many good relationships. He had an hour and ten minute commute from his home to Weatherly. The drive to his new job will be under a third of that.
and Updated Procurement Procedure Attachment for Policy 626 — Federal Programs. The superintendent also recommended approving agreements between WASB and Thomas J. Major as full-time School Police Officer, and William Bartel as part-time School Police Officer from July 1, 2022 to June 30, 2023. These are the same officers as this school year. Bartel is also the coach of the high school girls softball and girls soccer teams.
The list of organizations allowed to use district/ school names and to operate in relation to school district programs (per completion of required paperwork) for the 2022-2023 school year are: Weatherly Baseball Parents Organization, Wrecker Booster Club, See WASB, page 11
